TFTC:). Searched all around and luckily it was in one of the spots I checked. Nice hide .C.C
Passed by a whole back but too much action on, came by today and it was largely deserted. Waited for a dog walker before making the grab. Tftc
A tricky hide qith some muggles in the area but i think i pulled off a subtle retrieve, fingers crossed. Yesterday afternoon i realized that i had a clear day where i could sneak off for a cache or two today. I wasnt feeling a long day in the car so decided to head to Melb on the train. After starting the day at an event and cito in Newmarket i headed for Seaholme and Altona to find caches along the shore. The worst thing about living inland is that i miss the sea so this jaunt will satisfy at least two desires. If i finish the caches along here then i will take the train and get off at various stations to get some nearby ones until i head home. Yachting Action is find number 3,756 for me. A fun micro sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Hobsons Bay City. I am logging this one on Tuesday 27 Aug 2024 at 3:21 pm and the weather is Overcast Clouds 20C 51% 10 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy tackle_head.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
I journeyed from Melbourne's CBD to this region for a power trail walk. The weather was pleasant in the morning, but it transitioned into a rainy day around noon. It was a rewarding geocaching excursion that allowed me to appreciate the natural surroundings and rural landscapes immensely.59th cache of today, I think the terrain should be higher. TFTC
A good find, I wonder what people thought of me searching for this one. Thank you tackle head for your cache.Greytiger
Check the Geocache , it is there in place, ready to be found with no maintenance required
Finnaly the rain has stopped. Came here expecting another bottle cap cache, but thankfully I was wrong. Nice hiding spot. No hint is needed.TFTC
Checked the Geocache ,It is there in location And ready to be found with no maintenance required !
Checked both seats plus stood on one to check the roof and didn't find anything. I even went along the metal rods and wooden posts as well as large gate, finding nothing. Too good for me today.
Out on trusty treadles AKA the MTB for a taste of sea salt and a dose of ozone on this rather lovely autumn day. Arrived in Melbs earlier from home base which is at higher altitudes for the convivial Vic Awards nominations EVENT. Always seeking nature where it can be found in the burbs and am impressed with the parks and gardens and trails and seeing so many people out enjoying the fresh air. TFTC and the FUN.
Found during the Victorian COTY Awards nomination event. tackle_head, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Another quick find as I had to be discreet with a nearby muggle in his ute. 5 for 7 today...
Thanks tackle_head! Always a great spot, pretty quiet today. TFTC Eloise at the Plaza
Out for a nice sunny walk with the kids and the dog today. Nice easy find and a chance to stop for a rest and some snacks. TFTC
We packed the ebikes and headed to the big smoke for a couple of days. Day 2 of our bike riding and today our tour guide took to us Altona along the beach trails. That is quite a view but the T rating was a bit lower than where we found it.A beautiful day to be out riding along here. Thanks for showing us the sights.
With a lovely mid-week day forecast, what better to do than go caching. This was my first cache for the day, and one I had visited previously. Unfortunately, at that thime there was a couple sitting right at GZ, so I kept on walking. Today, there was no-one there, so after eyeing up the place, I waited for a lone walker to pass before I made my first attempt - my guess was correct, and I was able to take a seat to log my find.My thanks for the cache, tackle_head.
No Yachting Action but plenty of Rakali Action. The little fella didn't seem to mind me sitting on the seat, as he went about his business eating dinner. I watched for about 20 minutes and then remembered why I was actually here.
Went out to get a coffee and fuel up the car when I thought I'd grab a smile for xmas but after braving the wind and circling for a while my geosenses didn't kick inSo a frown for xmas (must have been naughty)
After the CITO we grabbed fish and chips and parked here for some nice views. Waited for a muggle to move on and then jumped out of the car for the quick find. Tftc
I found this cache today on my Mega Geocaching Walk #7 - A 29,000 step walk from Seaholme, Altona Coastal Park, Cherry Lake, Altona and Westona. A very quick grab and replace wilst using the vantage to take a photo. Thanks from D B-A
Found on a blustery cold day so another day could be filled in on our Finds By Found Date calendar. TFTC
Looked in the most obvious spot first know couldn’t come up with a good set in the car at another. Think about it and Wayne. Yes I definitely know where it is now. Thank you for another great hide.
Out for a day of catching up and caching up with AndyB84. A beautiful day for it, sunshine and water views. A lot of people out and about today.
A quick find here, thanks.

Now that the Twelve Days Of Cachemas and the celebratory lunch are done, and I should be able to finish the Streak Challenge tomorrow... so at last, I'm free to cache as much as I please.
So why not a drive around part of the esplanade?
Thanks, tackle_head. A nice quick park and grab, hidden in a classic spot.

I'm currently chasing a souvenir - attempting a 28-day caching streak during July for the Wheel-of-Challenges souvenir campaign. Still have plenty of local caches to find, and still somehow maintaining the mojo and the momentum.
Or perhaps, on Day 18 I am running out of mojo because this is the third day in a row that I didn't walk, run or cycle to a cache, opting for a drive-by instead.
In the morning it was too windy, in the afternoon it was raining (very easy to come up with excuses... ). I braved the cold regardless, and found a GZ devoid of any muggles. It still took me quite some time of searching before I found the cache, and at one time I thought I was going to be logging the first DNF on this one. Fortunately I eventually ignored the previous logs, changed my level of thinking, and immediately found it. I guess it is a "quick and easy find" if you don't persist with incorrect assumptions and preconceptions. Perhaps that is why I have so many DNFs , and why these find streaks are much harder to maintain.
No yachting around here today. Enough wind, but I guess no-one is silly enough to go out when it is cold and dark. I had a 29ft yacht for many years, and I recall that the mooring costs ended up being higher than the cost of the yacht itself. I only sailed in mild sunny conditions, except that one time at band-camp... except that one time when I entered a race and ended up sailing in crazy wild and wet conditions. That was my first and last competitive yachting event - I learnt quickly. Unlike geocaching, where I persist year after year with silly and sometimes frustrating pursuits like these streak challenges! Anyway, just 10 more days to go now - for *this* one anyway.
Thanks, tackle_head.

Hard (28 days) - In progress.
Day 1 of 28 - Drove to a local cache. Just a drive-by but a playground is always challenging!
Day 2 of 28 - Drove to an industrial area and then walked to a section of the FT for one cache.
Day 3 of 28 - Drove to the KCT and cycled 6km to a cache.
Day 4 of 28 - Cycled 25km from home, around KCT detours, to the FT, and then found 2 caches in the northern part of the KCT.
Day 5 of 28 - Drove to Geelong, completed an adlab plus bonus.
Day 6 of 28 - Found a cache near the morning's Brimbank parkrun.
Day 7 of 28 - Drove to the KCT and cycled 9km. A DNF followed by a find.
Day 8 of 28 - Cycled 5km to and along the Seaholme foreshore. Feet wet for a cache.
Day 9 of 28 - Drove to the FT and cycled 12km to the westernmost section of the FT geotrail for 2 caches.
Day 10 of 28 - Cycled from home and did a 34km loop including the FT from Williams Landing to Millers Rd, finding 2 caches out west.
Day 11 of 28 - Cycled from home and did a 10km loop for a cache at Truganina Park. A DNF followed by a find.
Day 12 of 28 - Rest from cycling. A quick drive-by in a Williams Landing park, with the challenge provided by the nearby playground environment.
Day 13 of 28 - Found 2 caches and 2 lab WPs near the morning's Sunbury parkrun.
Day 14 of 28 - Signed a challenge cache in Lysterfield (not good enough for this streak), then found a quick drive-by cache at Westona in the evening.
Day 15 of 28 - Cycled 21km along the Foreshore Trail to Williamstown. A DNF followed by a GC6 find.
Day 16 of 28 - Drove to Williamstown for the daily cache. A DNF followed by a multi find.
Day 17 of 28 - After a DNF on a FTF attempt in Footscray I found a cache at Truganina Park. This was a busier caching day than usual which included a second DNF, a missed TDOC FTF, and attending one of the TDOC Cachemas events in Williamstown.
Day 18 of 28 - Low on mojo on a cold rainy day, so settled for a quick local drive-by at Seaholme.

Thanks Tacklehead. Nice spot for a rest! Nicely placed cache. Alas no pen so had to use my eyelinersorry for the smudging. Found with Jimmytherat
Back in Melbourne
Rain sun wind and plans changed a million times..
But as the saying goes foul me once shame on me, foul me twice shame on you, foul me a million times - it’s the bureau of meteorology!
So discarding the notion it may rain, spiffy- and I set off on a spur of the moment caching trip out west.
The 16 footer yachts are stunning white on the crisp blue ocean.
A few sailors nearby but none paid any notion whilst we made a quick find. A shame really as I could sit and watch yachts for many an hour... well off to find more caches.
thanks for the placement tackle_head and story information

A plan was hatched today to go for a scooter ride this afternoon with Kristysadventures along the foreshore of Altona. It was nice and cold so we had gloves and wind jackets on but it was perfect because it kept all the muggles away from the beach and bike trails we needed to use.
4 yachts today all looked like they had just finished. It was probably getting a bit too windy for them.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

The yachts were sure hanging it out there today - ideal conditions I'd say. Cache was a quick find, all in good order, thanks for the cache.
My third time here. Last ime I couldn't look as there was an active muggle parked right in front! This time there were four of them but this time they all departed very soon and I had the place to myself. A good hide.

And back to easy again.
Thanks heaps for the cache, Tackle Head!

Luckily Mr Riddell spotted it straight away.
Meanwhile a work colleague intercepted Mrs Riddell which lead to a good chinwag about caching before we left.

Didn’t see any boats out here this morning. Maybe the boaters are all still hung over from New Year’s Eve.
This took me a little longer than needed.
Eventually I got there.
A few muggles on the track.

Well it finally happened this afternoon 7000 cache finds ticked over and a great place to sit and take it all in bubnot till after finding this sneaky cache.
Finally back at work after being off for 8 weeks with my knee and my caching days came to a screaming halt.
Finally able to hobble around a bit so it was time to find a few new caches that had been placed down this way since I have been off.
The cool and windy weather must have have kept everybody inside as the beach was deserted this afternoon with only a few people out for a walk.
Waited for a couple of muggles to disappear then I took a seat and added my name to the log.
A fav goes out to you for helping me reach 7000 finds.
Thanks tackle_head TFTC.

We thought we were screwed when we saw an ear wig on this one! Happy find - thanks for these beautiful beach track finds @tacklehead
This is a trickier take on a common theme. I had to look a bit harder for this one.
After doing a few tackle_head caches nearby we had an idea of what we were looking for. Quick find for us, thanks tackle_head.
Out with pinnacle333, we had a very long but enjoyable day caching in the Altona area.
Quick find, although a little sneaky. Thanks tackle_head.

No yachting action but a lot ot outrigger rowers standing around chatting.
Well I assume there were paddlers as the outriggers were pulled up on the shore.
I have been to this club before to let off some flares.
Thanks for the cache (and not putting it closer to the club!), Robmc.

I'd been here a few times before but either people were sitting on the chair or in their cars nearby. Not many around today, quickly found. My thanks to the man himself, tackle_head.

Thanks to tackle_head for bringing us here.
Low tide today but there were a few yachts about out past the shallows.
Nice to sit and enjoy a coffee, the seagulls were being quite angry with each other over some meager scraps. Great flying battles to watch in the sky above us.

A tricky find on a cold and wet afternoon.
Many people, cars and birds around for such a cold afternoon.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would bething around for those who like to find geocaches.

Back in the area with Rebel Acts to catch up with tackle_head and put some smiles on the map.
It was great to finally meet tackle_head but not luck getting any clues on Eagle Rock.
After a short search we soon has the log found and stamped.
Cheers for the cache mate

Today we decided to head over the west gate and Tackle a few caches in Altona (pun intended), we were also keen to do a few of the new Adventure Labs in the area. This area has some great history and fantastic architecture.
This is one of the caches found today.

Out and about caching with AusFox on this chilly Friday night!!
This hide tricked me but it wasn't a match for AusFox! Some other cars were present in the carpark... Not sure if they were enjoying the view or each other's company .

On the way home from work with a little bit of time to spare, so had a go at a couple of the recent additions to the Altona geocaching scene. This was the first of two on the way home.
A bit of a dreary day and a Monday, so the car park was empty and muggle free. Until I pulled up and got out of the car almost on top of GZ. No sooner had I opened my car door than another car pulled up behind mine, pretty much facing GZ. Grrrr. It pretty soon became apparent that the driver of the car had no interest in the scenery (or anything else) in front of him, so I made a cautious approach to GZ and thanks to excellent coords, pretty much put my hand straight onto the cache, with the bonus of knowing the muggle was paying no attention to me.
A very quick find on a dull day.
The cache is in good condition.
