What an interesting bridge, nicely constructed and some good information boards nearby too. After crossing the bridge and looking out for eels we headed over to look for this cache which initially had us scratching our heads a bit. After a few failed attempts looking in logical places we took a moment to refocus, taking into account that this is a G2 cache and our geosenses suddenly kicked in and the cache was quickly located. Very nicely done. Now to head down to the beach.TFTC
3 girls sat down at site to put on shoes so had to wait for them to get their job done . After a long wait able to sort things out.
Haha nice hide!! Absolutely no parking here today as all of Auckland is here testing summer outso having to walk for miles. Luckily this cache was on the path we had to take. TFTC & no eels today.
The good thing about a cloudy day is that there weren't too many muggles walking about. A quick find after looking at the hint - TFTC!
Mr KBclan took today off work so we could have a 'date' day while kids were at school. We headed out to piha for lunch and some catching. What a perfect day it was, sun shining, wind was low. Spring is in the air. Woop woop we found this one with some critical thinking! I saw all the DNF and I thought ill give it 10min. But read a few posts and hot a few ideas. We were lucky I think as area had recently been strimed. TFTC
With a clear day in the calendar, a plan was hatched to round up some friends and head out to Piha for an adventure. Anytime the Team SEAC crew are together its always an adventure. You can't predict what might happen but always know its going to be a good time. After the recent documentary about the people that have vanished in the area there was a bit of talk about that along the way but who knows what actually happened!! It started out pretty cold but soon warmed up and we enjoyed that pure wild west coast scenery.I was clearly buoyed along after a good lunch because I was onto this one super quickly. I initially opened something similar but it didn't contain what I was looking for but the second one in the area which was much better hidden had a slimy covered cache in it....slimy because of the slugs....ewwww....got over that pretty quickly as there was a log that required some signatures! Thanks for the cache.
Today a few of the team SEAC crew decided to spend the day at Piha. For some of our crew it was their first time at Piha and Piha put on quite a wild show after yesterdays squally storms blew through. Luckily today was calmer and sunny. We cached into Piha, enjoying the caches along Piha road, including finding a lonely cache that hadnt been found for a while. A picnic lunch was also had in some shade and then home again for a well deserved wine!WE walked across the bridge where some of the crew drove around to meet us at the other end. This one didn't have Keylev fooled, she was on to the hide immediately! TFTC!
A message went out a couple of days ago to the Team SEAC crew asking who was keen on a day caching at Piha. We decided to join the fun, and as per usual with a SEAC outing there were many laughs along the way. Out today was Keylev, NZIceman, Cragger, NZT and HeMaLuDy. This was our first visit out this way and the coastline did not disappoint. No eels spotted here today. Keylev spotted a likely hiding place straight away, but it turned out it wasn't, but something verysimilar was spotted nearby and the cache was soon signed and returned
Crikey did i struggle with this one! My first attempt i had to walk away after checking so many places. The hint just made me even more muddled as my directions varied greatly. Came back with merlot later to do the AL stage & she shows me where the cache was.Nope, i doubt i would have ever found that. But so glad ive signed the log sheet. Well hidden! [TFTC]
On our long term trip from Germany to Western Australia / Tasmania / New Zealand for about 3,5 month, we arrived New Zealand and picked up some caches. We went to Piha, where we had 5 overnights during Christmas. It took a while to find it. Nice hide. TFTC
With my partner catching up with family today I had an afternoon and evening spare so headed up Piha way for a walk along one of the open Waitakere tracks.
I’m pretty certain I found the hiding place. Just some ants in residence though
Thanks G_2

Exploring Piha, a few ants, but cache all good. Sneaky hide, but very clever. Thanks for the hide
Our second day in Piha. To drive away the jet lag, a nice walk on the beach. A few cans searched and found. This bridge is beautiful. Thanks for the cache. Greetings from Germany.
This had me looking for a while but found it eventually hidden by the long grass. Tftc
Lovely weather for a caching excursion to Piha, in the company of both Tracey and Roy of Team Welsh.
After doing a few nearby ad labs we walked across Piha's own eel bridge to hunt for this cache. Checked out the wrong item at first, but realised our mistake and soon found the item we were supposed to be checking out. Nicely done, thanks. (We definitely needed the hint here)

We parked in the domain so we could do a circuit of some ad lab stages and pick up some trads as well. Overshot the mark at first, found something of interest which was not correct and then spotted the other object that revealed its secrets. Great little bridge walkway and loved the cache camo. Cheers
Spotted something straight away that matched the hint, but after a closer inspection, I couldn’t find a log…
Resetting myself, I counted 8 steps again and on my 7th I stepped on something else.
There it is!
All good here! Great camo!
Thanks for the fun!

Quick find, clever hiding spot, I recognize this cache container hehe. Thanks for the hide G2
Out with Merlot. she checked out one spot and I found it at another.
Great cache.
Great cache.
It was a bit cold and threatening rain so not too many people around here despite it being a new public holiday. While I checked out one hint item, Nette spied another and yet again she made the find
I parked in the domain side of the bridge. Shot across and admired the eels stamped into the concrete. Loved the stages of their growth too. A much flasher bridge than what was here before.
I had just read the hint on the cache page, when my phone ran out of battery, gave the area a good search and thought, blow it, I need to re-read the cache page in case I missed something, so back to the car, charged the phone for about 10 mins, enough to whizz back to GZ for another search. STILL couldn't find the cache, I searched all things square I thought, so back to the car and I did a PAF. I'm not leaving here without this cache! Anyway, I got some intel on what I was missing, this time back over the bridge for the 3rd and last time. I found the cache! Dunno how I missed that.... but I did. A FP for this one G, and well spotted.
Now it's about time I went to place a cache somewhere. Then head home for dinner.

MrsJAG met up with Supernannny to find the newly published caches in Piha. This was our last cache for the day and as the carpark was almost empty, we were able to park very close to the Eel bridge. We made our way to gz, and soon spotted the likely hiding spot - while MrsJAG checked out one place, S/N checked out another and found the well camouflaged cache. FP awarded
This was a hilarious and rather cheeky cache!
Really made us laugh.
Had to be discreet as people go past here frequently....
Great job on this hide...
Lovely to have a reason to pop out to Piha again...now for a walk up to the Kitekite Falls...

A trip to Piha today was planned while ago. Actually to Mercer bay but still ... And this morning several new hides popped-up to let me get something new while going there. Did not expect {FTF} but almost all Westies first to find chasers went to Goat Island so it was great surprise to sign blank log here. Managed to get 4 x FTF today! And I`ve missed one but I do not know why and I`m happy that Aiden29 got it on her way to Piha too
Great hide. I remember caching here before but this new hide and its location in an EPIC!
Thanks G2!
I`ve picked up TB from here.
