Find # 10894Nice quick find due great coordinates. Council have made access to GZ a bit difficult to get to as they are constructing a raised steel boardwalk. FP awarded and put a plastic fence around their worksite. No trouble today as it is a Sunday.FP awarded!TFTC wazza9 24 March 2024 14:08

I had done the AL for this ages ago and had solved coordinates in my app for a while. Well today I was in the shire and was picking off some caches still left on the map. Nice little spot here TFTC

Following completion of The Adventure Lab we gathered the information for this bonus cache.
So off we went to complete another AL before heading here to find this one. A pleasant spot over looking the Hacking.
Some searching around and then a bit lower and I stumbled onto the cache. TFTC wazza9.

Thanks for a great adventure lab and bonus. Got to GZ right near sunset and was great to see the fading sunlight bouncing off the trees. So many great hiding spots. After searching many I came across the right one. TFTC

I've had a good week with caches in The Shire this week and after doing the Adventure Lab associated with this one I was all good to go. Must have found at least one cache down this way before. Not too much trouble at GZ- just needed to go a bit further down than I first thought. And to be pedantic I think that bottlebrush is actually a banksia serrata! TFTC!

After a visit to Kurnell then to Nth Cronulla to see that my favourite beach is no more, I planned to look for this. A cache I didn't get to finding after doing the AL. What a great spot this is, I'm sure I had been here before looking for a previous cache....lol.. but maybe not the same GZ. Good to see my calculations were in fact accurate and last time I had just lost my mojo. This was very easily found, probably because it had most likely been washed from its hide. I saw it on approach, from far above.. I thought oh no.... this almost ended up somewhere it may never have been seen again. I got closer to GZ and saw where it should have been hiding. The outer camo is rotting, most likely because it had been exposed to all that rain. This may need replacing. However, the cache itself is fine and logbook is intact and not wet, neither is the inside of the container. I've replaced it into a spot that hopefully will not make it wet but its possible that water flows through here.
Great AL and a cracker of a GZ.

Completed the Adventure Lab tour this afternoon, no problems with mobile phone reception. A nice tour of the park, there is a lot of history around Audley, amazing that goes back 100 years. Calculated GZ, then off to find the nicely hidden container. Signed log and replaced. Thanks to Wazza9.

I'm not sure what was wrong here as my new GPS kept putting the coords I'd worked out about 3.5km away, and well away from the coords on the last page of the journal in the AL. I went to those coords found the track and tried to find the object mentioned but didn't see anything and had no idea what this information was for, at first I thought it might be the trail marker but when I saw how far the GZ was I knew something wasn't right. I was rather confused by now. I'd had enough for the day after getting bamboozled by another series of nearby caches.
Now that I'm at home, its much easier to work through stuff than juggling numbers in the field.
I see that there is a checker, and the checker agrees with my coords. Hmm, so I wasn't wrong, however I also see that the AL intended you to go to a lookout , I missed that as none of the wpts were at any lookout. I didn't walk down that track either, as it would have been a long way back to the top had reception not been in my favour, so I drove to the wpts. Oh well, today it just wasn't my day.

[FTF] @ 1500.

After completing the new Royal Tour AL, I had all I needed to head over to GZ. A familiar place, as I found a now-archived cache around here once. Unfortunately I was with out GeodogZelda, since dogs are not allowed in the RNP. GZ is a very nice spot, with lovely views to the RNP. A bit of rock hopping and soon I spotted the camo. Opened it up to find a blank log. Thanks for the pathtag and as I'm off to the North Coast this long weekend, it will remind me of what caches I find there. TFTC
