What a fantastic week of (late) autumn weather it has been in Adelaide! And with even more on the way, I thought Id take the opportunity to go away for a few days of caching, camping and sightseeing on my own. From Adelaide I headed down to the Coonawarra, then across to the Southern Grampians area then east as far as Colac, before making my way back home. I took a winding route, collecting caches of interest along the way. I managed to find a range of caches types, including Traditional, Unknown, Multi, Letterbox Hybrid, Virtual and Earthcaches as well as a few Adventure Labs. All but a couple were found without any trouble. Most were good order unless otherwise noted.Fortunately the weather held out pretty well for most of the time. However, it rained steadily for hours when I was in Colac one night, but I guess you have to expect that in Victoria! The required information was collected and final coordinates determined, than it was off to GZ for a quick find. Thanks Perpetuallylost for the cache.
Created the coordinates from the plaque and made the long trek to GZ where the cache was quickly found by the youngest monster!! TFTC!!
10:33After a couple of weeks of mixed weather and many home jobs needing attention, it was good to cache our way towards Ballarat and brighten our geo-map with happy yellow icons. We are well and truly old enough to have driven past Kialla many times when it was the Bolte property.Satellites today had our calculated GZ 4m NW of where we found the cache. Thanks to Perpetuallylost for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36381
A morning drive had is out near here so it was time to nab a cache or two! Had no idea he was born out here. Great little piece of history! Thanks for the cache.
We are still in the Ballarat region and today we decided to head south to pick up a few of the caches that are either new or that we just have not got to on our many trips to the area. The decision was to head as far south as Cressy as we did not leave the van until 11.30 making it a short day for us. There was only one cache we did not attempt and that was 'How Deep the Woady'. We have looked at this one on previous visit's and both times we have chosen that it was not quite the one for us to do. All in all we had a fun day. SL TFTC
Out today with just me and that’s nice!!!! Stopped here as I need some multis for a challenge I am doing. Got the numbers I needed and headed to gz……. Ohhh no…. Just a lid???? Where’s the rest…. Ferreted around in the grass…. Yay got the bottom…., little more found the log……trouble adverted!!!! Signed and back together tftc and multi
After attending 2 events in Smythesdale we continued on to Cape Clear with wozzle68 to seek out the latest caches in the area. We managed to park off the road and inspect the notable local's plaque and collect the necessary numbers for GZ. Once that was sorted we had the cache in hand quickly.
Thanks Perpetuallylost for the notable multi placement.

A very quick and very easy find. Lovely quick multi, the way we love them. Good piece of history, at least we can remember him!
TFTC which was much easier than even expected. Well done!

The next multi on my list and once at the posted co-ords, I grabbed a photo and then went back to the car to calculate GZ. Managed that ok, then re-check my calculations just to be sure, and with everything looking right, headed off to GZ. Cache was spotted without issue, the log was signed, then it was back to the car and off for the next stop.
Thanks for this one Perpetuallylost...I do like this sort of multi...and being a newbie to the area, I leant something as well. Fav point added for the fun of the find...

A nice little multi. The plaque is well hidden by long grass.
Back in the day when all our public figures seemed to be born in rural Australia.
Cheers

Thanks for highlighting this premier who in his time was almost larger than life. The memorial was virtually obscured by very long grass so without your cache I would have missed it altogether

Thanks to Perpetuallylost for this piece of local history.
We have seen a few memorials for this local over the years.
A quick find once we worked out where to go.
A bit soggy underfoot.

Thanks for the hide.
We visited Cape Clear for International Geocaching Day to find the few caches in town.
We didn't know a former premier was born here either. Had to laugh at GZ when we worked out the coords too.

We were driving to Smythesdale to the CITO there this morning and decided to complete a few caches on the way. We had completed Adventure Labs in Geelong and Rokewood and had just driven past our old house in Illabarook.
last time we were in the area this Multi Cache was not available and when we saw where the orange dot was we knew the memorial that we were looking for to obtain the data for the final.
We pulled off the road and carefully chose our footing as the ground was very wet and the drizzle was driving into our face.
We obtained the required data and then raced back to the car to calculate GZ. Once GZ was calculated we headed towards GZ and made a nice quick find.
Thank you for this Multi Cache Perppetuallylost.
