First cache of the day a long way from home. Took longer to find than it should have but these things happen. Thanks for the smilie .
We are trying to break up "long" drives with much more frequents stops, so made a list of caches on the correct side of the road for today's drive. This was the only one we managed and the stream surrounds certainly are looking lovely. Thank you for the cache, which spacenarwhale spotted first.
I hadn't seen this revamp of the stream area. Cache was a quick find. Many thanks! #10455
I spent the night at the Lake Elterwater Rest stop, as they have some decent toilets here. Well, thousae toilets have been improved! They are no longer decent, they are pretty awesome! Did some maintenance in Shannon and Lake Grassmere on the way south. Next morning I woke up early. Way too early. Like 3am. Wide awake. Okay, I may as well make use of being awake, so I started day two. Headed south. Got to Kaikoura way before dawn. Did the maintenance and headed back to Blenheim. Stopped off at Iron Gate on the way back. It was dark walking to that cache, but daylight when I gave up on it and left - my only DNF for the trip.Quick easy find on this cache though.I have been trying to get to the South Island to do some cache maintenance for a while and eventually decided the only way I was going to get here was to prioritise it a little higher. So I told people that I can't go to where ever and tried to book a place on the ferry. No go. Not even a walk on space over Easter. So I booked this weekend instead and that still took three companies before I found some one with spare cars to hire out. So then I contacted other friends and told them I could not come (and called the first set and said actually, I can make it!)Five caches for maintenance in Havelock and Renwick on Saturday and then on Sunday three on the way to and in Kaikoura, and lastly one more on the way back to Picton.Saturday was also a multi-cache dot-day so I needed a multi. Luckily it is hard to go far in Blenheim without tripping over the rather excellent CCA series by Kiwimykl. Pity it was not also a size Other dot-day! Sunday had no particular personal challenge requirements, but I was back on the CCAs. I don't think I found them all, frankly, I have no idea. I'll see once all the logging is done. Will be interesting to see how many favourites I will have left, too!Oh. And then I discovered some (or all?) had lab caches with them. Alas it was just me and I kept forgetting to switch applications. So the amount of back and forthing was getting ridiculous. There are a number of roads I travelled more than four times!
After a enjoyable morning doing stuff around blenhiem with my mother asked if there was anything I wanted to do for the afternoon and even joked about going down to kaikoura. Remembering that I had a jasmer down that way I had a look at the map and asked if we could go for that. Well she said yes and so off we went picking up caches along the way. I found plenty on the trip but mum was happy with her 10 as she had previously cached this area out. TFTC
We stopped off for Taybeenz to collect a rail series cache and now have an the 4WD light flashing on the dashboard. Toby is still driving ok and not loosing any oil so???? This is where we turned around. Left our calling card then back on the road north. CheersHave TaybeeNZ visiting for the weekend. We are off to the Argosy Equinox Event this morning with some time for exploring and caching down Ward way this afternoon.
Mum was away for Lion Convention near Blenheim this weekend and decided to come home via Kaikoura to visit her brother. Of course some caching was needed to break the journey. A nice quick BtG PnG here. Thanks for placing this cache and adding to our smilies
**20,345**Managed to safely pull across to the right side of the road, with ample parking. For a nice quick find. After which we noticed that this was the Canterbury boundary and we needed to reload the GPS with the Canterbury caches. TFTC
Located with Ricardinho Our mini break in ChCh has come to an end & we are heading home to Boomtown aka Blenheim today. Just a few caches on the way as RNZ has got most of the caches on this well travelled route. A detour forst to Rangiora to drop off something to RNZ's sister at work & then the long trek back started. Last cache of the day & a quick park & grab TFTC
Fourth and final find today. A quick park and grab for anyone, even more so if you have been here before. Thankfully we had the job done and RG was taking photos as the neighbours turned in past us. Gave us a friendly wave, but I had ready-made excuses if we were challenged. There was a cruise ship just off the coast of Kaikoura, photo attached. Just because TFTC Kiwimykl.Today we were driving home from Christchurch to Blenheim, so it was not a big caching day, more about getting home in time. We did have to detour through Rangiora to drop something off to my sister. Other than that, it was a pretty standard trip with just a few stops.
Finally things lined up, the weather, a day off, and no urgent chores around the house. Buzz, buzz, buzz to Kekerengu it is. This was one of the easiest finds in quite some time. When I stopped Bumblebee, I was at 1m. I could have reached over and grabbed it without dismounting but needed a drink of water so stopped properly.
Hier ein Zwischenstopp eingelegt und diesen Cache besucht. Kurz gesucht und dann entdeckt. Somit sagen wir danke fr diesen Cache.
On way from Kaikoura to Nelson and finding caches on the way. Thanks for the hide.
Quick park and grab...after first crossing the road as we are heading south. Roads quiet so no issue to cross. The wind is coming from from the south so it was cold. Thanks for the brief leg stretch.
Nice quick stop and find on the way north. The road is very quiet this morning. TFTC!!
Heading back home, grabbed this on the way as it is another South Island Minute to collect.
No problems locating, in between passing trucks and cars... of course those that I had overtaken around Weld Pass area caught up with me but that's ok, I'm not in a hurry. Nice to stop though and stretch the legs a little.
TFTC Kiwimykl, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 3 find(s) of 6 today, making this find #4262

Heading back to Blenheim after seeing the grown up kids in Christchurch this weekend. Had plenty of time to stop and grab. Cache all fine e here. Thanks for the smiley.
For a second I thought I must have forgotten to log this one but scanned the log and my name wasn't there, then noted the FTF date, ahh it's a new one. Thanks Kiwimykl

We found the previous cache some time ago, so as we were passing decided to find it's successor. TFTC.
I had a look last night at a map of caches I have yet to sign off on the road north of Kaikoura. These caches don't have a big enough park for my cachemobile and snail shell so I just came up in my cachemobile. From my research I know that some maybe missing or hard to find.
This is the furtherest northern cache that I am starting with. I was here about a year ago and had to DNF Version I. Score Yellow 1/ Blue 0.
Cheers for the cache, Kiwimykl.

I'm pretty sure we found the previous incarnation of this cache.
I was happy to pull over for this cache as we were behind a very slow vehicle. After making the find, we ate our lunch in this spot (cos we were hungry and as a bonus, to let the slow coach get well ahead). TFTC.

#22320. A good one to do on the way north. Turned in an parked well away from SH1. Quick find, and then a quick chicken sammie bought in Kaikoura. TFTC.
Drove from Koromiko to Kaikoura today and picked up a few caches along the way. This one was a quick and find. #5990. TFTC.
We've driven past here a few times thinking we must stop one day....and today was that day. Simple straightforward, and standardbarrier cache, quick find, tftc.
Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 1 - Christchurch to Picton. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. All good. Found in the first place checked. TFTC, Biggles.
Those ducks are massive! Weather cleared up so we decided to find another cache. TFTC
A nice quick find with great parking. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today we got to Blenheim, under cloudy skies, and windy too. The traffic was ok most of the time too, so a good start to the holiday.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

️ Parking ️ was wonderful. It made finding this cache really enjoyable. It was great to find a nice simple hide after the last one I found.
A quick find on a stunning coastline day. The last few days of our South Island road trip. Crossing on the ferry in the next couple of days. Gonna miss the South Island. Cache and contents are fine. Thanks for the placement.
We are making our way from Kekerengu to Ward beach today. Mr C took motorhome with our cat Coco and Mrs C went in suzuki to collect a few caches on the way. All good here thanks for the cache Kiwimykl.
My only unfound cache along the main highway between Blenheim and Kaikoura, so I really did need to deal to this! A quick stop on the way north this afternoon, and an instant find in the first place checked. Signed log, TFTC.
