Having overnighted nearby I thought I’d take a wee bush walk.
After the rain of the past few days the stream was flowing a murky muddy colour and there was much evidence of debris from Cyclone Gabrielle back in February.
I think this cache might be missing in action!!
Thanks supernannny

I’m glad we found it. We’ve been striking out on the last few we’ve tried. Thanks for the cache! This is a beautiful walk. Greetings from New Hampshire, USA!

One more time thanks for very precise information how to get this hide with so many people passing by.
All good here.

Found on the way up to the Falls. Great hide that does not trouble the environment. Ɓ
On the way back from the fall finally found... Thanks for the cache. Greetings from Germany.
Our first cache in New Zealand!!!
We arrived 2 days ago and picked the Piha region for todays outing. So nice and pretty out here! It took us a while but eventually it proved to be really easy. Thanks so much for placing a cache here. We will always remember our NZ first!

Dear owners, as geocaching should be entertainment, rest time from daily routines and work I would like to enjoy every minute outside. So Im sorry that Im not wasting my time on writing story to every log and watching the display. I spent a lot of time infront various displays. I prefer to drop few more words to very special situation like obstackles to find, bad state of cache etc.., and if there is amazing story to share, of course. Thank you for placing the cache, taking care about it and understanding.

Lovely weather for a caching excursion to Piha, in the company of both Tracey and Roy of Team Welsh.
We were last here about 7 years ago when our daughters organised an 'Amazing Race' for Mothers Day, and one of the places to visit for a picnic lunch was Kitekite Falls. Nice to be back here today on an upgraded track. The hint object was soon spotted and the cache in the first spot we checked. Thanks.

Lovely to have this track open again and there were lots of people and their dogs out today. Managed to get here when no one else was about and the cache was found quickly. Headed to the top of the waterfall from here. TFTC
Had a look for this one on the way up, but didn’t spot it. Fortunately on the way down, we found it very quickly!
Thanks for another!

Out in Piha with Vistra today for a bit of an walk. We walked out to Kitekite Falls and looked for a few caches that weren't there on our last visit. As we approached GZ we bumped into our new geocaching friends from Otago again, so we signed the log after them and replaced the cache.

Off to Auckland to visit our son after a busy school term. Grabbed a city hop car and drove over to Piha. Nice to visit this famous beach that, as Mainlanders, we had only ever see on “Piha Rescue”.
Walked up to Kirekire Falls and on the way stopped off at all the caches.

A great walk on Matariki.
A quick find with good clues.
Afterwards we decided to walked up to the top of the waterfall.

Despite the threatening rain it was good to see a few people out appreciating the new track to the falls. Thankfully there was no one close by when we reached gz and we made a quick find of the cache thanks to the hint. After returning the cache we decided to do the loop walk to the falls which were looking impressive after the recent rain
MrsJAG was out with Supernannny in Piha, and as we had time to fill in we decided to check out the Kitekite falls (as we assumed they would be flowing well after the recent rain - and we were not disappointed at the falls today).
As we walked along the trail chatting, S/N mentioned that she would like to place a cache along the trail so we kept our eyes open for possible hiding spots. This was S/N's first hide today. Gz can be a busy place with muggles deciding which way to turn here, so we just chatted to the muggles and waited until they moved on.
Thanks for the placement S/N and the smilie

Off to Piha to kill 3 birds with one stone: exercise, check on my caches and to try for a few {FTF}'s by supernanny including this one and the one down the trail. The weather forecast was for horrendous weather, cold, blustery etc but when I got here, It was just windy, threatening rain but it never did rain, mostly I was just in my t-shirt, it was that warm. Quite the contrast I was expecting.
No problem finding this hide, unfortunately while I had my head down, I heard voices from behind me and 2 guys could see me with the cache in hand, oh well, at least I replaced it without their knowledge. Now, I have two choices: take the high road or the low road, both lead to the falls either way, so I chose the high road. Thanks for the hide supernanny.
