Logs
I made the poor decision yesterday to leave this trail for today. Little did I know we were in for a decent storm this morning. The tracks were quite water logged in spots with many large branches to small twigs scattered over them. All the 8 caches that I found on this trail were in good condition. I shall return when the weather (and thus tracks) are better. The 4wders that were out enjoying the mud probably wondered what in the world this crazy woman was doing on a bike out here. TFTC
My last effort for the day. My caching eyes were at their completion for the day. Thankfully this one was easy! Many thanks The Blind Side for providing this game piece for our enjoyment.Greetings from Tatura, Australia
TFTC The Blind Side. Nicely placed. Our first for the day and a pleasure to find a new series findable by all cachers! Jimmytherat with Noelle04.
Finally turning this frown upside down! Last time I came here I was in a rush & couldnt locate the cache & GPS was jumping around. Today we found it, GPS jumped & tried to send us the wrong way but my instincts said NO then next thing you know we are signing the log! TFTC!
Found by caughtatwork on 24/08/2024 at 12:02:00 PMA nice find on a weekend of geocaching in and around the Shepperton area.Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.*Overall Experience: 3*GAFF1
Rated: for Overall Experience
Super easy and straight forward - thank you. Here for a hockey tournament - our team is Red Devils, so we stamped ourselves with an R
11:28Staying in Shepparton for a few days, today being our last, we made an all out effort to find some more of the 'gems' hidden around the flats. Nice to have a "smiley token" at the start point.A BIG thank you to the CO who placed these caches.36944
Traveled up through Shepparton to Tatura for the event tomorrow and collected a few caches on the way.It has been a while since I have been to this series.Dropped in today to try a couple to see what the tracks are like.I will return on Friday. Thanks, Robmc.
TFTC, bit nervous about snakes but managed to find more open path in. Left swap for kids.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. In Shepparton for a few days as we wend our way towards Canberra for the GeoBash. Today we decided to explore how far we could take the GeoCruiser exploring the Moor-Shepp Hidden Gem Trail. Boy the flooding has made a mess of the tracks in here. Those we tackled we were able to drive to within 150mts today.TFTC The Blind Side [^]
Have enjoyed MTB riding here before BUT last time I was in Shep it was to evacuate my daughter as the floods rose and were heading to her front door step …so amazed at the recovery. Sad to say a fading battery determined the cache run today but I’ll be back. Have to say the amount of trash is almost gobsmacking. Anyway, all caches found high and dry and in good nik- TFTC and the FUN Blindside.
Found with Bogonghazy and SS on our overnight trip to Shep. Thanks for placing the geocache
Heading to a night in Shepp with LittleBoss2 and Sorceysal. This was a quick find amid all the water. Nice and dry though. Thanks The Blind Side
Who doesn't love a road trip with bogonghazy and littleboss 2. TFTC The Blind Side
Parked at play ground in an attempt to walk this trail and collect all the caches. My enthusiasm outweighed my energy today and I only lasted 6 hours unsure how many km. Approximately 23 caches found, I including this one sadly the The PT was GOA

heading back home to Wangaratta from a weekend work conference in Echuca/Moama. Did a slight detour off the main road to collect one of the Hidden Gems. SL at 1.46pm alert: gumnut pathtag. A HUGE job to check all this series after the crazy floods last spring. Thanks for replacing this one The Blind Side. #9687 ,
Went on a walk with my mum and my dog and the person that put the cache out it was my very first cache
Headed out after work with the geodog and BENedict2011.
Nice easy find with geoboy locating the prize swiftly. Beautiful evening in the bush. TFTC

With the floodwaters between Shepparton and Mooroopna beginning to recede I expect most if not all of the Moor-Shepp Hidden Gem Series caches to either be washed away or full of water so I am disabling all until I've had the opportunity to inspect and replace. This may take some months as the area is still not accessible and there are 48 to check.
Have a 50th Birthday in Shepp so decided to make a weekend o it and grab some caches. The wetness of the day didn't stop us from finding this one. TFTC

Cache has disappeared from previous location so I made the decision to move it to this hopefully more secure location.

Searched but could not find. Thought I found where it was meant to be but was unsuccessful.
Cache is missing probably as a result of previous finders not rolling the log back into place. Will have to replace.
We were late for the Cito but we got there.
Then we had to go back to work.
Then we came back for this one cache.
Then we went and grabbed the nearest Wherigo....... in Rutherglen.
Then we went home. [8)]
Well it was getting pretty late.
TFTC The Blindside. Great to see you back in the saddle.

Found and signed with dalerious on a romper stomper evening trying to make it, here there and everywhere, all in good time .
We did it, I still don't know how. Life would be pretty boring otherwise .
Thank you The Blind Side. Good to see you out and about again with the living .

With an hour or two to kill before going out for tea with the friends, i'm staying with here in Shepparton, i decided to do a Calorie-Smash walk which included the Telstra-Tower on a rapid ascension before slipping across the Goulburn River bridge to this one. (I'm hoping to find more time later in the month to do more of this series on foot, once i return from Adelaide)
A swift find after dodging mud puddles and wet grass
SL at 14:20 (devoid of my colored pen so the pencil was used) on Wednesday 29 June 2022.
All is in perfect condition within the cache. Re-hid with some camo as upon discovery the top of the cache could be easily seen.
Re-hid not pushing the cache back too far but enough to stop Muggles spotting it. I almost needed a couple of sticks either side to be able to extract it but with patience it was worked out.
(From a 4WD'ers point of view i struggled my way outta the mud without the need for a winch ha ha )

In the area to play golf and had some time on my hands so decided to explore this area. No time to walk the whole set but managed a few. Thanks for the opportunity.
Checked on cache today. An over zealous previous finder had pushed the cache in to its hidey hole a little too far, jamming it for future finders. We won't blame this cacher too much though as I believe she's from New Zealand and relatively new to Geocaching. Thankfully the coat hanger I took with me proved useful for removing the cache. Situation rectified and the cache is now good to go.
#4996 A trip over to Shepp today to visit a muggle friend and to buy a new laptop (after Mrs BGF knocked a glass of wine and killed our previous computer, but lets not get into that). We ended up meeting the friend at Kidstown and walking the geohounds and her mugglehounds though the bush covering some 4.5 - 5kms. We did swing by this cache during our walk to make the find. Took a bit to to extract from its snug hidey hole but fortunately Mrs BGF's smaller hand was able to get enough grip to complete the extraction. TFTC The Blind Side, the 6 dogs had a blast running around, chasing each other and jumping over and into puddles...
Found On our way home, sun in our eyes decided we need ten minutes for it to set, so why not look for this cache
Thanks for the hide BlindSide. Seems we are always running second to log to Locus cache-we had trouble retrieving the cache so signed in the object it self
needs a maintenance check.

The Start was nearly the end for me. Only two to go and the series will be complete

Last night, I'd asked Catnap777 if she wanted to come to get a particular cache with Rex and I today[?][?][?]
She said 'yes' and so after Catnap777 meet us at dog training, we headed out to some hills[^]
We started off in clear weather[^], then rain, then it cleared up again[^]
I found 3 caches with Catnap777 and then, after dropping her at her car, I put fuel in the Corolla[^] (where I heard a ping on the phone)[?][?] I forgot all about that ping until after i'd been to Dan Murphy's to buy some red wine, to enjoy with my hot roast vegetables for tea[:X][^][:X][^], on this Friday night[^][:X]
718m from Dan Murphy's was a new cache
A quick stop and find on our way home, in a place Rex and I are in pretty darn often, and my 4th find for the day was a FTF
I'd unintentionally given other people almost an hour head start to find this cache
So I was pretty surprised when we pulled up near GZ, walked over and made the find of an empty log book![?][?]
Woohoo! *FTF*
That's a fun way to finish off a caching afternoon!
