A drive to Lower Hutt to find some more caches before the event in Lower Hutt this evening. Second time here. Thanks the Seagnoid for the cache.
Great park and find. We thought we might be abmboozled at it didn't have a clue, but nope, we aced it. Hope in one for us! TFTC.
Out for a morning run and saw this cache was close by so grabbed it! Didnt have a pen sorry so see picture of log for reference. Tftc!
On the way to Lower Hutt with Ezratar for a Dental Appointment and we were 15 mins early, so stopped off to find two caches. This was the second one (and found instantly). The pen we had wouldn't write and so took a photo as proof and tried writing with some bark as well.. Thanks for the cache.
A park and grab before a stroll to the WW100 option along the path. All good here, getting good at these again now Tom. Like riding a bike, something something. After a couple of nights in barracks at TRE I was ready to head back up the line to Manawatu to log my NS finds and get back into a 'normal' rhythm. First though I'd said I'd meet up with my daughter and her partner for a morning coffee and I had some nearby caching options beckoning. Seemed to be a bit of a train theme today; Some lost stations of the Hutt, a Sidetracked themed one, some tickets please puzzles and a Haywards interchange. Not intentional, just the way they were selected on the phone. Nothing like the numbers of last few days but still some great experiences and fun. Thanks to all COs.
I was reading again, but this was so close to where we parked that I got out for it. Wasn't sure, was sure, but no. It's too stiff to open. If only KR had brought his bike, we could have used an inner tube for traction. What's that? He has one anyway! Something else for my caching tool stash. Think I need a bigger handbag!Thank you the Seagnoid
A nice quick find. The lid was very tight, slightly crossed threaded I think. We had some tott to help loosen it! Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are off on another North Island tour, visiting family, art galleries and caches. So far the weather has been pretty good!Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
Spied this and had a look around before tentatively opening! A popular place for an evening walk- took things to a place not so in view while signing and, keeping an eye out all the while, managed to return in between with folk none the wiser! Thanks for this series - like other rail series youve done, very informative! The fact of the discrepancy with this one makes the history even more fascinating!
We are staying at the Top 10 camp ground near by and were out on our bikes enjoying the river trails and grabbing a few caches along the way. TFTC. Cache all good.
The last cache in the lost stations of the Hutt for me- thanks for such an amazing experience that I could never get in Auckland TFTC
A quick find of this nicely hidden cache, I guessed where it was straight away but was still a bit nervous opening it, luckily nobody else around at GZ. Enjoyed walking along the river trail in the sunshine. TFTC
Perfect cache for a park and grab. As per usual with my mobile lately closest coords 12-15m. Went for a wider wander then came back, same location now 3-5 m from gz, quickly had log in hand. Just had everything tucked away as a muggle drove up, whew. Neat cache. TFTC
A quick trip down to the Hutt Valley today with tmann421
Enjoyed all the caches found
Log signed tm/ww NZ
Thanks to the cache owners for their efforts

#12,483. I was doing some write-ups on the computer at home on Waitangi Day and the fine weather was beckoning me outside,. My legs are still recovering from a big day walking around Mt Holdsworth tracks on Saturday. So today just had to be park and grabs. Well talk about cache blind. Although I have found plenty in the rail series before and was expecting this hide I walked right past it and searched all around the bushes for a while. Heading back to the car there it was. Hmmm what was I looking at when I walked past this one? Signed the log and replaced where found. Thanks the Seagnoid for more of your train series. Enjoy finding these and reading a bit about the rail history in the city.
It was such a nice evening I decided to head out to nab a few caches. Managed to nab 9 of this series in about 2.5 hours.
Interesting to note the quite a few of these are filling spots where previous caches have been archived.

Fascinating history, even with the dates

Out biking with Nuttynora and Mr Squirrel. Lovely cache, great hint. Saw what was out of place and bingo.
What a wet day that was brightened by geocaching. Flowerydaze and I were out and about and soon had this one in the bag as this hide was getting more familiar. FP awarded for the sake of consistency. TFTC Seagnoid
This is the second of the Lost Stations of the Hutt series that Talla64 and I have found, and what a great hide. Fortunately there was no-one around when we arrived, and Talla was able to retrieve the log without worrying about muggles. Thanks so much Seagnoid, for the history you have researched about this siding, and for the cache.
Fascinating history. Just like Chinese Whispers.
Cache was not where I was lead to believe, used observation and common/caching sense, then couldn't miss it.
All safe and dry. TFTC.

The first cache to be found for my mission tonight. A friend (making sure I didn’t get up to mischief) and I sat here waiting for the bewitching hour(s) to start.
Out and about tonight finding caches for one of the requirements for the GC2J6AY MGSc Challenge (Masters of Geocaching Science) in Nelson.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache the Seagnoid.

Catching & caching a lift back with bruzie, we sidled into the siding. Spotted the quintessential Seagnoid cache on approach Shocked to see dates against all the log entries. TFTC!
I was dropping BFG and InfoFerret off at Petone station on the way back from some caching adventures in Silverstream when it was suggested that we look for these two caches in Belmont - there's always room for ~~pud~~ more caches. IF had already found these two so she waited in the car - I won't say patiently because it didn't take long to spot a Seagnoid Special . Signed and replaced. All good here, and TFTC
#13,249. Park and grab off Owen Street in Kelson, Lower Hutt. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

We had such a good time yesterday in and around Lower Hutt that we decided to go back over again today for another crack.
Cache number three and another great "Lost stations of the Hutt" cache. Again excellent research by the CO, great stuff.
As for the cache itself, unlike the previous couple of cachers to log this find, We had absolutely no idea what we were looking for!
So after looking in, around, and under absolutely everything, just before giving up I decided to look a bit closer at the only unchecked thing even though it couldn't possibly be the cache.... It was.

Stopped in at Belmont on our way past during a driving lesson. I initially went round to the wrong side of the tree and was surprised not to see any geotrail. Kept going and spotted something that I saw on a previous hide in the series. I explained to my driving student what it was (supposed to be) and she declined to open it (just in case?).
All good here and thanks for another interesting story. TFTC.

(# 7333) Woke up this morning with a plan to grab some of the new Lost Stations of the Hutt caches. Quickly spotted the all to familiar hide. Thanks for bringing me here.
Nice to find another familiar hide and an old station site we never knew about. Really enjoying this series finding historical sites we were never aware of so close to home.
It was too cold to be geocaching this evening but I did some anyway. In this case, I managed to find the cache even before I commenced looking for it.
The lack of definitive information actually makes the cache description more interesting than it may otherwise have been.

Well played on the camouflage! I love your series around rail - reminds of the many hours I spent watching steam trains as a child. Followed by hours watching my dad build from scratch OO gauge scale models of Great Western rolling stock.
Grabbed this before the latest round of hideous weather swept in.
TFTC Seaganoid!

A quick easy find, and it's always interesting to read about this old railway history. TFTC.
3 unfound caches made for a good excuse to get out for a walk with the fur monsters this morning. This was find 2 of 3. Thanks for the cache
Another one of TS's cunning hides, although on the other side from where the coordinates point to. A quick park 'n' grab. All good, tftc!
What started out as a typical Sunday, driving home to Wellington from Wanganui and collecting caches along the way, did not end so well for when my car got impounded (not for bad cache driving though). Fortunately I did find every cache I went looking for, and this was one of them.
Having done a few of this multi island series, I recognised the hide as soon as I arrived.
Thanks to the CO for placing this cache and bringing me here.

Still wanting to find a cache for today, and it's raining. Oh and I have friends visiting for board gaming in about an hour's time. Best I try to find a quick and easy cache then.
Luckily I had saved this one for just such an occasion. A quick find here, and no issues with the cache in spite of the previous finder cross-threading the lid. No harm done and the cache was replaced properly once I'd added my name to the log.
Thanks for setting these up. Sometime one really wishes one could go back in time and see things as they used to be

After finding the lost station south of here yesterday morning, I thought I'd try for another couple this morning, whilst on the way home from work. Makes getting across SH2 easy if the traffic is quiet. A quick find here having a guess at the hide based on a previous find.
Thanks for the cache. Another nicely constructed one.

Having found reasonable amount of these railway caches in the Nelson/Marlborough area I came with a preconceived idea as to what to look for. I wasn't disappointed either. quite well concealed this one. Good to see a few of these popping up around Wellington. Cheers and TFTC
At last the weather improved enough for bike ride up my usual route to KGB and back the other side. So of course I had to look for these new caches.
On to here after Gosse's Siding and Boxhill had it in hand for me to add a signature.
All good and easy to find here.

I guess it's no surprise to see more caches in this series after the plural in the title of the first one. So more interesting info here from our 8-tentacled rail historian. Interesting that historical record is so patchy and inconsistent. Oh well. I came to GZ for another lunchtime jaunt which I have done several times before when trying to find a nemesis cache that used to be nearby. No such problems here although I wasn't expecting things to look so familiar. After restoring this cache I thought I'd see if the old cache not far away was still here which was archived for no apparent reason. Yep, still there and more obvious than it ever was when I was trying to find it originally.
I took the non-stop "service" back to work and didn't stop to also find the another nearby cache. I'm sure it'll still be there next week. TFTC.

Found after a few minutes' search - uncharacteristically for this CO the coordinates were about 11 metres out for me. Another nicely done hide. Signed log, thanks for the cache and for the interesting historical information.
Staying with family who have quite recently moved to the neighbourhood. Time to check for nearby caches. Oooo that one's close, what's more, 3 days sooner and I would have had a head start in the race for FTF! Had to wait for a muggle with a bicycle and two dogs to get on their way, then, having found a significant number of tS railway caches, I was in for a QEF. So great to see the beginnings of another series. I do wish though that the train still stopped here because that would be a convenient way to get into the big city from here. Thanks for the cache. Dropped off a trackable that's all set to head off on a long journey.
I had arrived at the Gosse's cache using the modern train and by bus then a short walk and got muggled by Infoferret who as you can see by the previous log had already found this one but kindly offered a ride to here and return further down.
My GPS was taking a while to settle here and my phone GPS wasn't being helpful either so IF started acting as my GPS without giving a spoiler when I spotted something that looked likely which proved indeed to be the cache.
TFTC and some more interesting rail history.

Andrews station was likely named after JW Andrews who was the first Mayor of Lower Hutt serving from 1933 to 1947. Andrews Avenue is also named after him: source https://streetnames.nz/lower-hutt/page/6/ (I will be exploring more pages on that site!)
Therefore an apostrophe after Andrew would be inappropriate: the equivalent does not apply to Pitcaithly.

Number 11323. Decided that I didnt fancy attempting the newly published one in tonight's 'gentle zephyrs' (OK I hate night caching and am not great with heights), so I decided to have a crack at this one. Got to GZ and recognised the stile, so a QEF. Now to get back to looking at US & Canadian puzzles for some strange reason... TFTC.
Joint {FTF}. Found with Mum. Just came from netball and I was very tired and then Mum said there was a new cache. It was easy to find. Thank you.
