Took a solo trip out to the Wheatbelt today to grab a few caches about the place with an overnighter in Merredin. Pretty successful day by all accounts with a hatfull of smileys and a couple of FTF's to boot.Should've read the description, expecting to find a working brewery here. Cache found in the first spot I checked.geotrakka I found your cache at 10:57am, this was the 12th of 22 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 9020. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.SLTFTC

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Staying in Merridin for a couple of nights while we return to Adelaide after attending a wedding in Perth. Grabbing caches where possible whole towing our van. This afternoon, I had finished the tasks I needed to complete before hitting the Nullarbor, so decided to go for a wander to this nearby cache. I do recall drinking Hannans Lager many years ago. Not sure if it is made anymore.Anyway, got to the area of GZ and quickly identified the hide and grabbed the cache in the first place I felt. Gotta love that. Extracted the log and signed it and then replaced all as found. Completed the log on the walk back to our van. Gratias pro cache Geotrakka

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 72 - Wyalkatchem to Westonia via Trayning, Nungarin and Merredin. Today I was back at heading to new Counties. I stopped at as many of the roadside caches as I could. I did a few cemetery multis. When I reached Merredin, it was time to do some Labs alongside some great caches around town. I was happy to get off the main road and head towards Westonia where my afternoon was split up by a few different activities before cooking dinner at the van. I'm heading back west on a new row of counties north of the past few.For my last cache in Merredin, I visited this old site. We made plans for the Easter weekend to head to the Wheatbelt and do some exploring. We left home early this morning with Mukinbudin being the destination for our first night. We were grabbing a variety of Geo location things and were having a blast. Cheers and TFTC.Gday there geotrakka, we were in this area today and found your cache Merredin Brewery GC9WDB4. Our name was added to the log book at 1:03pm on 29 March 2024. Day 3 Leaving from Mount Helena / Aurora Ranges. Camping out for the night and managed to claim 140 finds yesterday. Plan on grabbing the last 63 then heading back to Merredin for the night and grabbing a few caches in town .Logs signed as IceH2 in honor of the series name . My second day in Merredin, a quick find here with a good stretch. Replaced almost full log with a new one TFTC Geotrakka

Today we moved from Kellerberrin to Merredin, in some light drizzle. Once at the caravan park we headed out to attempt a couple of park n grabs, before the rain got heavier in the afternoon.

Mr OOH YEH headed off this morning to drive to Mt Helena to tackle the 2nd instalment of the Great southern land caches. He had to stop through merridan so he grabbed all the unfound caches he missed the last time he was here. Happy to say all caches were found and he got his exercise in as a few involved a bit of a walk. Thanks to the CO,S for placing the caches

Day 1 of a big caching weekend. Today we drove from Perth to Merredin picking up caches along the way. Spent the night in Merredin with a few others who would join us for the next days adventure to the Helena and Aurora Ranges.

Signing as MICKS today as we are all together heading to Meriden tonight.

Out and about again, on the way to the event at Aurora Ranges, had the opportunity to pick up some caches on the drive out, staying at Mukinbudin overnight.

Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today

Today was day one of our brief trip out to the Helena and Aurora Ranges, where the Wheatbelt meets the Goldfields. We are planning to stay in Merredin tonight, before continuing to the Ranges on Saturday via Southern Cross and Koolyanobbing. Thank you to all the COs that place these remote caches and particularly to sazpazza for establishing the new Great Southern Land geocaching trail which has brought us out here.

Well that sucked lol. I managed to get it undone and signed but putting it back together was another thing. Being short really didn’t help. Hopi got it done up tight enough. Might be worth checking when your close by.

Another cache close to the Merredin Cravan Park where we were overnighting. I was just able to retrieve it on my own.

After spending 2 nights at my sons we headed off again with the dogs, cat and caravan final destination tonight unknown free camping along the road somewhere of course gathering a few smiles along the way. Thanks to the CO’s for placing and maintaining caches.
