Day thirty eight of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Staying in Rotorua, visited the Waiotapu thermal area, and had a walk in the Redwoods forest in the afternoon.There were muggles in harnesses up the top of an adjacent tower, but they seemed a bit involved in their activities to notice me.Nice hide for this location.Thanks, Robmc.

Second day spent in New Zealand. We start the day with a walk around the volcano at Mount Eden, then around Lake Titokorangi-Redwoods where we will have a picnic; then, we continue with the blue lake, a superb walk and finally, the geothermal springs of Rotorua where we unfortunately will not have time to swim. We will end this day with a Maori evening. Geocaching being part of our trip, we will stop at the caches that will be found on our way. Thank you to all the installers for the work carried out for our greatest pleasure. Greetings from France. Trip to New Zealand decided very quickly , but that did not stop us from preparing a small file of caches to search, as far as possible. The GC46 is, of course, at the top of this list! 1st day: arrived at the airport and discovering Auckland*********Deuxime journe passe en Nouvelle Zlande. Nous commenons la journe par une balade autour du volcan au Mont Eden, puis le tour du lac Titokorangi- Redwoods ou nous pique-niquerons; puis, nous enchanons avec le lac bleu, superbe balade et enfin, les sources gothermiques de Rotorua ou nous n'aurons malheureusement pas le temps de nous baigner.Nous terminerons cette journe par une soire maori. Greetings from the USA! We're in Tauranga for a couple of weeks on business, but we took a day to come down and explore Rotorua and the redwoods. We are thoroughly enjoying ourselves! What a clever hide! TFTC!

Came to the redwoods as we had planned to do a quick walk and cache loop here. We didnt do the treetops walk because the geocaching was the main drawcard for us here. Managed to get three caches before leaving and going to a nearby cafe for breakfast This one was found quickly and then onto the next cache in the lovely forest. TFTC

Not many muggles around so I was able to search for a while. Unfortunately I wasn't lucky. I assume I found a spot where the cache might have been but not sure about it.

Nice and peaceful here today. Not many muggles so managed to nab this one quickly. All good here. SL. Returned as found. TFTC!

Today we had a lovely drive round Rotorua and did several walks too - we picked a few caches as we went.Here we parked up and did a loop of half a dozen caches We arrived at this one just as someone was coming down so we waited until they all left and the cache was found after a search of several places TFTCTim and Viv - ddm

I'm visiting New Zealand for a tour around the country . First I spent 2 weeks in Auckland. Now I'm touring the North Island. While enjoying the sightseeing I also visit some caches. This is one of them. Thank you for showing me the place and thank you for the cache . Greetings from Switzerland .

This took us some time but kids found it

What a difference a week makes.
We logged a DNF on this one last Saturday and it has been on our mind all week as we pondered where it might be.
We came up with a few options but decided that one of them was the most likely so we were keen to see if we were correct.
"Coincidentally" we found ourselves back in the Redwoods today and the first thing we did was head over to give it another try.
Unfortunately our guess turned out to be incorrect but we weren't going to give up that easily and started looking at other options, a feeling of Deja Vu sweeping over us.
But this time our geosenses were in prime condition as we reasonably quickly located the very cleverly placed cache that blends in so well. Whew.
We are very pleased to turn this one into a smiley and give it a very well deserved favourite point.

No luck for us today despite a reasonable thorough search, just not thorough enough.
We look forward to coming back soon to try again as from reading the previous logs this one sounds like it's very nicely done.

Hard to find as the cache is really “invisible” on the structure! Try to move things! TFTC!

Nice day today for wandering around the Redwoods with friends while waiting for a couple others doing the treewalk experience. Perfect timing to get a couple of caches in the area. This took a while to find as I was looking at the wrong bottom step. Finally tried this area and accidentally caused something to move as I was expecting. Cool cache. FP for it! TFTC!

Finally we came across the redwoods part of this cool forest. There happened to be some zipliners directly overhead as we entered so watched their antics before strolling away in awe of the huge trees around us and wove our way towards gz and the treetopers overhead.
With noone around gz, we set to search, around and around we went before i spied the clever hide. Works perfectly.

We have visited the Redwood Forest a few times now but never completed any Geocaches here. So on this trip our aim was to collect a few. This one took us a while to find and we had to wait for some muggles to leave the area. TFTC

Stopped for this one as we were leaving the forest. We were fortunate that No muggled were about and this made for a nice quick find by Geomum. TFTC .

Found both a containerless log and one that matched the hint. Placed both together. TFTC

Just checked. Original still in place and obvious someone did a throw down as they couldn’t spot it. Increasing d rating.

Took me a while, hint didn’t help and there’s a camera on you.

Sounds like this hide has been changed from its original, I honestly cant see how. Due to family circumstances havent been able to check. Will endeavour to do so soon.

In Rotorua for the day with visiting relies and decided to visit the redwoods. Checked for caches close to where we were snd this one popped up. Quick search and we located the cache TFTC.

One of nine caches located in the Rotorua area today after my Canopy Tours experience (zip lining, etc) this morning and Redwood Treewalk this afternoon. After our ‘official’ treewalk we took the geohound for a walk amongst the trees with the intention of picking up a few caches. Took a few minutes to spot this one. It’s not where the hint suggests, nor the type of cache the hint suggests. Searched further afield before finding it. #5963. TFTC.

we are in Rotorua for a few days visiting places we had never been to or had only visited about 65 years ago with our families ! I had been here before and from memory we only walked in a short way to the stand of the mighty cedars and then walked out again , there was no building etc etc and no high rope trails etc I am sure you didn't go any further than what we went but now you can walk all through the area wonderful ! we walked just the shortest track the red track i think it was and past a couple of caches on the way plus these ones out beside the road on the cycle trail . I loved the 'redwood' toilets structures . see photos.

Good cache, not where the hint says.....but close to the back

I'd noted from previous logs that the hint and co ords probably weren't relevant anymore.
After waiting for a couple of lots of muggles to move out of sight, I was able to have a search, and it was quickly located.
The bag is ripped but the log is still dry, despite all of this rain we've been getting.

Lovely cool walk under the redwoods this morning with jazzmo. Glad for a quick find here, as we had families in tow who groan at the mention of the “g word”. Hint is no longer applicable. Log is in a plastic bag hidden by pumice and is no longer around the side with the steps.

Out for a walk with my sister and niece. Niece was getting all "I'm bored" so we figure the Redwoods would be the place to be. She got very excited to be geocaching, so we let her do all the finds!

We spent ages here, so got the niece to read the hint. Then we spent ages more here. Till I had a look and found that she missed giving us a vital part of that hint. Even then it took a few more minutes. Nicely hidden!

I have been meaning to do the treetops walk but every time I come I don't get to fit it in. Same again this trip. One day I will have to do a special trip for it - ie don't see the family until AFTER I have walked the treetops!

Thankfully not too many people around today as I took about 5min to find it. Cache in good condition. Lovely day to be our and about.

Visiting from Canada. Our tour group brought us to this wonderful wooded area. The trees are just amazing. I was happy to see there were a couple of caches in this area. Went pas this one on our stroll on the path. TFTC.

I race Mrs Geckoh to this one from the "As you do" cache up the hill, she went back to the van to drive round to the car park and I took the trails to run here. I beat her here but did not find the cache, she came by and swooped in to take the honours!!

Heading home after the school holidays and stayed the night in Rotorua. Beautiful morning for a stroll round the redwoods collecting a few new caches. Quick find here with the helpful hint. Must come back sometime and do the night walk as we’ve heard it great. Thanks for the smiley.

The second week of school holidays… My niece stayed overnight in the hope that I’d take her caching. I didn’t want to disappoint her…

A steady stream of walkers passed by. We seemed to be far enough removed from the main track for us to go unnoticed… It took ages for us to spy the cache - We made an assumption that was quite wrong.

Where’s the pen? The realisation that this was probably in the car lead to a hasty trek to retrieve said pen… Thanks Mc Jandals and TFTC.
