We are from Abilene, Texas, USA and have come to New Zealand to visit with a friend. We plan on going after different Cache Types while here. We will also find geocaches while going sight seeing.
Thank you, Bitsprayer for placing this cache for all to find. We sign log sheets either as Love Cachers or LCers.
Driving over 50 miles to have...
Rusty barbed wire ripping through your clothes...
Curious rattlesnakes that come out of nowhere...
Itchy mosquito bites on every inch of your body...
A 40 mph wind gust blowing sand into your ears, nose and mouth...
Cactus needles getting stuck deep in your hands, arms and legs...
Thorny Mesquite trees scratching you up from head to toe...
Some or all of these things on a hike through 101° heat...
To sign your name or trade a toy...
SOUND LIKE FUN TO YOU?

Certainly not broom, probably never was. That looks like gorse they are clearing to me. You can tell by the spikes.
Broom? What Broome. Some pitiful little specimens. I started at GZ and started walking in an ever widening circle until I spotted the giveaway pile of stones. Now, reading other logs I wasn't the only one who noticed that the broom was gone.
#22187. Couldn't see any hint objects at GZ; Troodles did good work looking at past logs to find out where to look. TFTC.
StreetWalkerNZ and I had never been to Bortons Pond before, but now there are heaps of caches here, it was a must do while we are staying in the area.
We couldn't see anywhere obvious to hide a cache, so read past logs which was a help. TFTC.

Got here and wondered if there was going to be a cache to find, as it looked like it had been bulldozed. But there it was. Now I have read the hint, I'm glad I didn't at the time, as I might have not looked too closely. There's certainly no broom nearby any more. TFTC.
After a hiatus of 6 years I'm back at Borton's Pond locating and signing off caches.
Definitely no need to have a 4WD to complete this new series. Now down a the major side road. The broom bush has gone so I will repeat Karma Reprint's new hint - top of bank under a pile of stones.
Cheers for the cache.

Thanks for the new hint in a previous log.
I enjoyed being driven around here to park and grab the caches.
Apologies for the cut and paste of the logs for this series.
In Canterbury for a 25th wedding anniversary and am caching with GraciesGPSfun as well.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Bitsprayer.

I'm enjoying the park and grab geocaches today. A team effort by Jude_E and Graciesgpsfun. They have cleared that broom out nicely. I wonder if they will plant natives.
On the road with NZ_B, graciesGPSfun and Nosynel. Thanks, KR for the updated hint. Quickly found. Thanks, Bitsprayer

Didn't expect to see this one after all the earthwork. Still there under rocks and now, well deceased broom bush. Thanks Bitsprayer.
A nice quick find, though there has been a clearance at GZ. No Broom anywhere. Searched a bit and quickly found the cache, though now it is at the top of the bank, under a pile of stones. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee drive to Invercargill and back. Today we made it as far as Oamaru. It was overcast all day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

The number of caches here has grown since I last visited, couldn't resist coming back especially with a rare weekend off. TFTC!
Another quick find as I make my way down this road hoping no one was coming the other way
**FTF** This track is in pretty good condition for my visit today, Cache all good. TFTC
