Geocache available to be found once again.

Checked on this cache yesterday evening, and it looks like it has been muggled. Will prepare a new cache shortly.

07-Aug-24
We are in QLD for a few days caching and are concentrating mainly on Adventure Labs, earth caches and Virtual's as there is no muggle problems with these types of caches. We really enjoyed this little art trail but sadly we could not locate the hide.We will not put a DNF as we realise it is a tricky hide from previous logs ad we were here a at a bad time with a lot of muggles passing so we could not have a real good search. Many thanks anyway Davidwazza, at least we have the coordinate for our next visit.

29/4/2024 Find #7020A solo wandering today, I decided to grab some of the still outstanding audio and drum beat caches, with the odd other cache or two thrown in for good measure. I have been past these adventure labs so many times yet never made the time to stop and do them. Today I was pleased to change that, parking near the first one and making my walk around to each location. And to complete the series a great final cache placement! Thanks for the cache Davidwazza.

22-Mar-24
Adding a FP as promised.

09-Mar-24
My target today was to find the lab cache and this bonus . I rode my bike here from home and all up i rode 40km in 3 hours which feels like only around 12-15kms on my E-bike. The lab took me around 25 minutes. I also checked out a multi near here and did not have a tott for that one but bumped into the CO along the way which was great and thanks for the pointer. I had a great time checking out the sculptures and i was happy that the answers were easy to find as it gave me time to admire them. Then it was off to the final. Wow that is very clever. I love it and will give it a FP when i have one to give. Thanks Davidwazza for all the fun

Quick AL after a local orienteering event nearby. Forgot our pen in rain today. Very clever hide. Colinalan117 took a photo. TFTC

06-Jan-24
Completed the AL during last months visit to RBH. The intent this visit was to get a smiley on the bonus but,the coffee shop must do a good coffee if the number of people were any indication. Maybe try out of hours next time.

22-Dec-23
I enjoyed a little walk around Alderley in the rain this morning. The area is new to me and it was a great way to see around the local area. I also enjoyed reading the signs about the Beasts of Alderley along the way. After I finished the AdLab, I started looking for the bonus cache. I had a guess where it might be, and it luckily turned out to be right. Thanks Davidwazza for the interesting AdLab and for the cleverly hidden bonus cache!

14-Oct-23
So after a day at Chermside participating in 2023s Xrace with the family, a failed attempt at a nearby cache, I was still left with a gap day on my caching calendar. On the way home I recalled completing this adventure lab last year, and the location of the final was sort of on the way home. I detoured to gz and Notquiteyet and I found the cache. The log sheet is all good here. We signed today as AWT? And NQY as to save space. Thanks very much for the cache creation Davidwazza. We enjoyed the hide. This is a new favourite cache of ours. Cheers

Found It!Stopped past here just as it was getting dark and found the cache after a bit of searching around. Neat little hide in about the only place it could be!TFTC

10-Sep-23
I completed the AdLab part for this cache a couple of days ago but there was a group of people settled in near GZ so I elected to give finding this bonus a miss.
Today we were passing by and with no one around we stopped and had a go. The GPS had me initially looking somewhere further away but TG had her eyes set on something else and it was her keen eye that found the cache. I have to say that is one of the cleverest hides I have come across in a good while. It wouldn’t be right not to give it a favorite point so I happily will.

Picking up a cache or two on the way home from an event this morning and this was one of them.

Trotted around looking at the sculptures, liked the last two in particular and the clever hide for the final so giving it a favourite point.

A very spontaneous stop off to grab this Adventure Lab, I guess it doesn’t hurt as we’re needed plenty more to get our points up for the monthly challenge.

We thoroughly enjoyed the walk around completing the Adventure Lab and it was an easy find at the end for the bonus cache.

Thanks for bringing us here.

A little too dark to sign and get the paper back into such a small cache. I like that it's hiding in plain sight.

GC9WKKW Alderley's Summer Sculptures AL Bonus

Lovely morning for a walk around Alderley. Parked at Coles as since Toombul Coles disappeared over a year ago I’m always checking out new Coles (turns out I’m a Coles fan and will drive past 5 Woolies just to get to one). Anyway.….
Walked around town admiring the great sculptures and view.
Got to GZ and just couldn’t work out where I should I be looking. Checked out a few places but the coords were leading me a little bit further away. Read a log by the CO which told me my first idea was right and there it was. Cache blindness struck again. Log was easily extracted luckily as I only had a pen on me. Log signed and replaced as found.
Very enjoyable experience
Now off to do my Coles shop.

Mrs Woodyrothwell’s arm is in a sling after some surgery so we were looking for things to do that weren’t going to be too aggressive. It’s already like walking on egg shells or making love to fine china which I’ve now ticked off my bucket list.

So we spent the day chasing a few adventure labs where bending or bush bashing was off the agenda. When my wife saw Coles she got really excited because it was her chance to spend money. Not being able to drive her addiction to shopping has been weighing heavily on her. I’m saving tonnes of money and I didn’t want to be her enabler now. Who knew you could still shop at Coles for stuff you don’t need?

Being at a place where you could spend money my wife jumped on the phone and rang everyone she knew in case they needed something. Her arm that is in the sling was feeling around my back pocket for the wallet like a desperate addict.

Definitely a great little lab and cache worthy of a favourite point. tftc

Good AL series and rather tough final. TftC.

Cache container ok, but logbook appears to be missing.
Have removed cache whilst reinstating new logbook, so will re-enable shortly, thanks.

Replaced logbook - should be easier to extract as the logbook has been built to purpose.
Cache reinstated.

Cache reinstated and back in play.

A lovely little walk along the street admiring the creativity of the artists as we completed the AL. At one of the sculptures, a local had an enthusiastic chat with us about them and told us how they are dressed up and decorated for special occasions too. It didn’t take long to spot the wonderfully placed cache but it was unexpectedly empty. After messaging the CO, he gave us permission to log. An enjoyable end to our morning out and about. Thanks Davidwazza

09-Mar-23
Thoroughly enjoyed doing the adventure lab leading us here. DisSister was the one to spy the cleverly placed cache although the log was missing. After shooting off a message to CO, he gave permission for us to log as a find. TFTC

Absolutely loved this cache! Smile Nearby parking was not a problem on a quiet Saturday evening and we strolled around looking at the different sculptures collecting the information for the AL. Once completed we had what was needing to find this cache. Such an amazing idea, we loved it and a definite favourite point from us Smile.

Had the necessary tool to remove the log sheet and signed as L_n_A. TNLNSL TFTC Smile

Found, what a great idea! Love it. Unfortunately couldn’t get the log out to sign. TFTC

This was a fun AL on a hot summer Saturday! Amazing creativity. As was kestel's stealth at GZ - feigning a highly believable ankle injury (we were still in our Parkrun gear afterall haha). So much frustration trying to get the log out but we perservered to get our names on it to claim the find. Thanks Davidwazza for the great AL and final. A favourite point coming your way Smile

21-Jan-23
Out and about in the area with Wallaby Wanderers and wonder dog Zelda after a parkrun at Chermside. We collected a few caches today, all were straight forward finds. This was the luck last find for us today before heading back to Toowoomba. Thanks to the COs for placing and looking after these ones.

We'd just helped our daughter move in to a share house in Alderley with her friends after her last day of work at Nambour in the morning. We got her furniture in and on the way home decided to have tour of her new suburb with the AL as a tour guide. Very interesting sculptures and also the Beasts of Alderley information signs. Great city views. We found the collection of businesses a bit different to what we would imagine for a city suburb - do they really need 4 dentists around here? Sat down near the cockatoos to add figure out this bonus gz and were glad to not have to venture too far. What a clever idea! Blends in perfectly!

Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.

An unexpected trip to Brisbane. With the need for a dose of Vitamin GC it was time to go caching. I completed the Adventure Lab last September, but sadly the bonus cache had been muggles at that time. I was nearby this morning and had the opportunity to log this elusive bonus.

This was a great AL that showed a side to Alderley that could so easily be missed. With the added bonus and its location this cache gets a favourite point from me TFTC

Replaced cache container as per same size, location and hint, but new container a little more discrete.
Hopefully replacement #3 lasts a little longer.

Geocache back in play and ready to be found once again!

26-Nov-22
Visited this location today, and sadly it looks like the cache has gone missing. I suspect with some seasonal updates of decorations, the same person has taken the cache away.

I may need a couple of weeks to order a new replacement container before I’m able to re-instate this geocache.

Had an idea where this should be and the use the clue...sadly its missing.

While in the area we need to complete some UFOs from a previous visit.

Knowing where to find the hide, it was just a matter of a quick dive and a pat while no one was looking.

I was on the Northside delivery today. Look around what was available. I do have most adventure labs clear on the Northside. My last delivery was just around the corner.
I park at the Woolworths headed out till do this lab and bonus.

Very clever. Great AdLab and fun BB.

Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!

Davidwazza, I found Alderley's Summer Sculptures AL Bonus today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

A lovely AL.
How could we not enjoy the two buskers! One was playing the flute.
This is a pretty good selection of small and interesting sculptures throughout this suburb.

It’s great to see the ALs of Brisbane being spread around a little more. Artwork in the suburbs is definitely worth highlighting.
Today after an event, and an excellent cup of coffee, we made our way through the Adventure Lab with Selva Girls and onto the final.
Kolour was waiting for us there, as she had already completed this one.
The hide is perfect. Just right!
By rights it should last, however, who knows what muggles may have other ideas.
In the meantime, happy to find this one.
FP.
Thanks Davidwazza

Checked in cache during the week and indeed the cache was missing.

I’ve now replaced the cache and logbook, and it is back in play.

Cache available to be found once again!

25-Sep-22
I had considered using these sculptures for an Adventure Lab, but you beat me to it, Davidwazza.
After attending a nearby event, some of us went for a walk around these scupltures. At the end of our walk, we had coords for the bonus cache. A quick find was made, as I had spotted it on approach. We added our names to the log, returned everything as found, then continued on our way. TFTC

16-Sep-22
From speaking to a couple of Geocachers yesterday evening, this geocache sounds like it is missing, so will confirm and subsequently replace (if necessary).

04-Sep-22
Continuing my strolling around on Fathers Day, I parked at Coles and did a lap. No memory of these sculptures at all but I’ll keep an eye out for them now.
Nice final which I spotted just before I looked it up. Cool stuff! TFTC which I enjoyed.

31-Aug-22
At a loose end on a Wednesday morning and decided to knock over a few of the newer labs that have popped up.

This was a nice one with a fun final, glad the building nearby was knocked over last week rather than when I was standing there!

The hardest part was trying to select the bonus final on my cgeo map, the icon for which has identical coordsto the lab so it was hiding underneath the lab icon.

Find #12758 @ 09:10
Thanks Davidwazza for giving us a reason to visit.

An hour or so to kill and on the Ferny Grove train line - what to do? Yep! A new AL that looks cute. Bounced around the ALs with no issues and then with a GZ advised for this bonus set off on the walk to get to this location. A bit of bounce meant I initially fondled a poor unsuspecting tap for too long before I realised where I should be looking - and viola spotted it (it was dark so not immediately obvious). Oh that is a nice hide - Prime-approved!
Thanks Davidwazza for entertaining me at this location.

What drama. We went into the bush to get the oldest cache in QLD earlier today.
Whilst we were trying to get this cache, Rach asked me to check if she had a thorn or splinter in her neck, it was a tick!
Needless to say we got a bit distracted.

I really enjoyed the adventure lab and this final find, very clever. TFTC.

An event this morning on the Dark Side. I parked near it and set off on the geocycle to do this AL. It was nice and easy to pedal around early on a Saturday morning.

One of my favourite ALs so far. Nicely done. [^]

With a Celebration Event in Chermside this morning I left early with plans to complete a couple of Adventures first…

A leisurely stroll around Alderley taking note of the sculptures… nice…

I’d normally complain about sequential Adventures, but this one made sense… and even though I started looking a few metres away it didn’t take long to spot this clever IPS cache… again, nice…

Until a recent move, my office was in Enoggera and I commuted through this stretch of road every day. I often wondered about these sculptures. Despite having lunch at the Alderley Arms most Friday's, I never bothered to take a look.

Today, I was heading west to get my step count up and grab some caches and I made a split second decision when stopped at the lights to pull over and grab this Adventure Lab.

I have seen this urban renewal type of artwork spring up all round the place and these sculptures all fit the brief nicely. Having completed the AdLab, it was time to sort out the bonus.

Very clever. This cheeky hide made my morning and certainly earnt a crooked favourite. Nicely played, Davidwazza. TFTC

After the early morning event at Keperra and then catching up with bike riding friends for coffee Rosie and myself headed off for a ride along the bikeways and picked off a few ALs along the way.

What a great idea to use this art for an AL. In fact had recently thought about this when riding past a couple of weeks back.

One would have thought that given I had looked at the sculptures previously that I would know where to look for the required responses. No a big fail on my part, note to self information is not always on a sign and there are 360 degrees which you can look including down.

Enjoyed looking at the art and especially enjoyed the bonus, I could not have been so clever.

After doing Hooked on Geocaching with IolantheK, we decided to do some more caching. This AL was a new one she had noticed, so off we went. Found an easy park near the train station, and found everything for the AL which we enjoyed but we really liked the container at gz so a fp. Very cute and clever. Tftc and AL.

Having completed the AL it was time to chase down the bonus. At times my phone has me wandering aimlessly & that’s exactly what it did today. After ignoring it & taking a systematic approach I finally spotted the cache. A quick look alerted me to someone approaching so I patiently waited for them to pass, but no! It was another cacher completing the lab. I stepped back to allow Crew 153 to discover the hide himself. After a quick smile was exchanged we both signed the log & the cache was replaced. TFTC

It wasn't until I had completed the AL and looking for the coordinates for this bonus cache that I realised that I had to do the AL in sequence but I had done them in the correct order without realizing it.

As I approached the area of the cache I noticed someone ahead of me who appeared to be looking for something. On approach I realised that it was a cacher and it turned out that Alisnan had already found it but not retrieved the cache and she stood back until I wandered around searching for the cache. My phone went flat as I searched and then I thought back to where I had seen Alisnan searching before I met her and zeroed on that area and soon found the cache so that we could both sign the log.

Charli and I were at home and I said I am going to pick up Maddie from school, she was doing something to her hair, girly stuff. I just got into the car and the phone goes ding, a new cache, oh it is a puzzle cache. A quick look and it was the bonus to a lab cache. A look into the adventure labs and no new listings appeared, but knowing the CO is a stickler for everything needs to be in place, I assumed it would not be far away, so I headed to the general direction. By the time I got to Alderley the lab was up and working, I parked at the first point and walked around collecting the information I needed to complete the lab. It is funny that this lab has come out as the girls and I talked about doing one with the same items. The lab was very nicely done and a nice hide at the end, gave me a smile.

I signed the log and replaced the cache as found and continued on to grab Maddie from school. Thanks for the fun here and a favourite point for this cache.
