Reperio 18:20Day 1 of my little escapade towards Albury for the weekend, and after spending the night at Bowral, it was on to Tumbarumba this evening. On a drizzly day, it was nice to get out and find a few roadside caches, and this one was soon located and signed. This was one of the main focuses on this trip. I hadnt been along this part of the Hume and Hovell Walking Track, and it was an absolute joy walking and running along the trail picking up this series as I went. I enjoyed the run out to the furthest cache and picked up each one on the return trip. The camping area was a fantastic place to come back to and sleep for the night and get up early and tackle the other caches on the other side of the road. #6554.We decided to make use of one of the lovely, warm, winters days and headed off to the Hume and Hovell walking track. The plan was to tackle the Northern part of the geotrail. We did not expect to complete the trail, but it was so beautiful, and the weather was just perfect, that we reached the end in quick time. The kids started getting a bit tired during the last few kms before getting to the campground, but still managed to end the day with a smile. We found all the caches in pretty good condition and no DNFs. We also spotted an echidna, plenty of birds and a dead highlands copperhead (unfortunately) that gave the kids a bit of a fright. Thanks for creating all these caches and adding to the wonderful experience of going on this hike.
After a day of scrambling up cliff faces we decided to have a more relaxing day and do a few drive by finds, on a fine winters day. #3 & co decided to enjoy an afternoon snack before going for a leisurely stroll. After reading the hint I did my best Arthur Wilson (a crisp hi 5 to anyone who gets the reference) and sat down to rest my legs. And thats where we found it. Looked very natural muggles wouldnt have known a thing. TFTC
Generic log follows, well, it is a power trail after all! After a 5 hours drive from home, and the last hour and a half in thick fog, freezing conditions, light rain and snow on the side of the road, I was glad to get out and underway. All hides found were in ok condition, and were replaced as found. While out on the 13km return walk over 3 1/2 hours, I was greeted and followed by horses, meet and jumped all over by three kelpies whod got away from their owner to say gday, tripped over a wombat, saw fish in the very full fast flowing creek, and spooked a juvenile stag. The amount of blackberries was staggering in the back half of the trail, and fear that a good growing season will all but make that part of the trail problematic. Currently the only thing keeping the trail clear are the deer. Started out walking with a thermal base layer, t shirt, Parker and dry coat, gloves buff and beanie! Yes it was extremely cold and uncomfortable, but I was going to do it no matter what! By the time Id completed what there was of the series, and turned around to jog back, I was back to a t shirt and gloves.Really enjoyed the time on the trail, shame the weather was so off, but certainly a very interesting history with the gold mining in the area!
Found this fun slightly tricky cache with curlyjow on the way home from a road trip from Central Coast Nsw to Corryong Vic.
Nice area. Staying with friends and we are from Sydney on a little country trip.TFTC The Ciscokids
We set up camp here for the night and were pleasantly surprised to discover that there were caches here. We started with this one as it was the closest. Thanks.
Found it tagging along with the Upper Murray Historical Machinery Club on one of their club drives to Tumbarumba.
Back at the car, and our final find along this trail today. Just short of a 13 km return walk, which was absolutely beautiful and we loved the history and the scenery. The birdlife was prolific, and we assume that this is a great location for wildlife due to the freshwater supply. Aside from the turtle and many birds, we also saw a rather large deer who stopped briefly to look at us in shock and then took off very quickly. We stopped to read the information here at GZ, and it was nice to sit down and relax after the walk. A favourite point added here for such a beautiful adventure today. Thanks The Ciscokids Domsky
Reeled this one in after a rest day in Tumbarumba from the Hume and Hovell Track!Baristayan came and met Dad and me on the Friday night with our next resupply (legendary effort that), and took us into Tumba for the weekend. She dropped us back here on the Sunday morning so we could resume the hike all refreshed and showered as we now were, and we managed to grab this before saying our goodbyes and resuming the walk. Thanks!
Dropping off buckoraider here today so he can continue his crazy 400+km hike We were glad to find a pathtag as well Thanks for the cache!
Up in the area for the Tumbarumba Spring Garden Festival and took time out from visiting Open Gardens to find this cache. We had to laugh when we undid the log sheet - we had replaced and SL on the 17/9/2022! We must have forgotten to log it then, so rectifying that today. Left: feathers pathtag at 11.58am. #10,402 TFTC The Ciscokids - now back to help out with the Open Garden at Rosewood.
A quick find as we begin our walk for the long weekend along the Hume and Hovell. TFTC

Heading towards home from being on the road since the Rutherglen Mega, yesterday I drove back into NSW and set up camp here at Burra campground for a couple of nights.
Had myself a good night's rest and started on the northern end of the trail, such a great walk!
My last visit here was after flooding so it was nice to get revenge a few past DNFs
I had no problems finding all that I searched for today

Was planning on a longer walk in the are, however the ground was so wet that after the first 5, I had to turn around. Of course now sitting here logging my finds I wish I had pushed on...but I'll probably be back another day.

Smart hint never would have thought that it would be under one of the seats. Love the idea with the magnet’s
