Logs
We continued today our tour of several AUS states in the NorthWest and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to drrnrchr for the generation of this nice cache Cloncurry Bison Trail 05 (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 138 - Mount Isa to McKinlay via Cloncurry. Having elected for a short day I went out in the morning for a bit more caching around Mt Isa before finalising my hookup to the van and heading East again. I spent a few days in Cloncurry last time I was out this way, but there is a raft of new caches to look for. I did a few of the series and one other before moving on to McKinlay. The old Walkabout hotel is the only business in town and the van park out back was pretty good, but they had stopped dinner for season so I had to cook for myself. I went for a walk around town to do the newish set of labs and then settled down for a quiet afternoon. On to Winton tomorrow.Having reached Cloncurry, I turned down this bison road to do the first six to try and build some numbers for the day and use up a bit of time so I did not get to my destination too early. I was happy to see the hides very similar to the trail in Mt Isa. I managed to find all of the six I looked for. Thanks for the cache drrnrchr49060.18 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2010 Julius Quintilus A#177**Albida**
This run had a good variety of levels for the cache hides as well as hosts. Came along with goingplaces2 and eventually found all the little bisons. All good with these. TFTC.
Wanted to do this bison trail with ilook4geo. Had a good run heading out but missed a couple. After getting to the end we revisited the ones we had missed and found them on the second look, so the run was finished successfully. Thanks go to drrnrchr for placing this series.
This was an exciting power trail. The brown snake was the highlight. Thongs are not the correct footwear.TFTC!
This is how I found it. Only the string visible. It took some attack with the scissors from my tool box to free this poor thing. I let it hang down the branch rather than putting it back in the hole. TFTC
We were traveing in this area after we left QOGM 2023 in Longreach and after our stay in Mount Isa. We stopped here for the caches in town and this series. We found the cache and signed the log.Tftc drrnrchr
Out and about with TBU1Bikesu for more smileys Tftc. drrnrchr and the whole serie
On the Bison trail this morning, in the cool of the morning, if there is such a thing in Cloncurry, only 9am and it is 29 deg, still a reasonably busy road with all the mining vehicles out and back. All caches found, logs signed and returned. Thanks drrnrchr for the caches.Total Cache Finds 14889,
Heading to Cape York with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 & Team Crackers, after the QOGM in Longreach. This is one of the many caches that we found whilst in the area. The log was signed as PDGC, to save space, (Papi Drovers Geoturtle Crackers). Thanks to all the Co's for making this trip, more enjoyable. Signed and replaced as found.
After having a fantastic time at the last ever QOGM event in Longreach we are now heading north with The Drovers, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 naturally stopping to grab any caches that come on the map aiming to get as many LGA's as we can.We arrived in town a little earlier than expected so after setting up camp and before staring happy hour we decided to come out and try our luck at this little trail which we really did enjoy. All the caches were well placed and none took too long to find which isn't surprising with this many eyes looking and we are happy to say that each of these logbooks now contains our acronym. To save room in the log we signed PDGC (Papi Drove Geoturtle Crackers)
The Drovers, Geoturtle37, Team Crackers and myself had a great time at the last ever QOGM, held in Longreach this year. We are attempting to grab as many LGA's as we can along the way. When we were here last time, we just couldn't quite find the time to hunt up this series and it was dismally wet so we are pleased to have smileys along this trail finally. All caches were found with no issues. We used the acronym PDGC (papi drove(rs) geoturtle crackers) to save room in the logs. Thanks for this great little series and please excuse the generic logs.
Spending a couple of nights at Cloncurry, slowly heading to QOGM at Longreach
Out on the Cloncurry Bison trail this morning, all found with good co-ords.
Giving #1 the FP for the trail
Cloncurry is having a big weekend, races, markets & a street fair
What a great way to tour the country following the geocaching trail.
Thanks to the CO for placing this cache

On our travels we stopped at Cloncurry for a few nights and took the opportunity to do this series, we had planned to set off before the heat but as we know plans change and after a pub lunch we decided to start, thankfully the gps was Jonny on the spot and the bison was soon in hand, thanks for taking the time to place this series
Day 94 of our greynomad trip up north from Vic, after a the JLWEvents in Wudinna SA, a tour of Maralinga and caching to claim LGAs in the Eyre Peninsula, through to Alice Springs, Uluru, Darwin, Kakadu and Litchfield we continue our journey back south to Vic through Longreach to attend QOGM. It is also day 93 of a streak.
Cloncurry seems a good spot to chill out and fill a few nights before our arrival at Longreach. Missed a cache or two, better enough to keep the streak going.

Well my whirl wind tour of 5 states in 3 weeks has started in Vic then SA then the NT and now in sunny QLD.
I was able to locate a few caches here or there as I wasn’t able to do to much caching on this trip as I’m with muggle friends.
So after doing half of the the trip I decided to ditch the other couple but that is for another story.
Now to cache when ever I can but as I have been up this way before finding new one can be hard.
In Cloncurry for the night and there has been a few more caches added to the game board since I was last here.
After completing the Lab and a couple of others I decided to a couple of theses as it was still hot.
1 turned into 2 then into 3 and then oh well suck it and let’s do the lot.
Great coords lead my to the right tress but sometimes spotting them was a different matter.
A great idea for a power trail that will last longer out here then other types of containers.
Also plenty of room to pull off the road safely enough as well.
Thanks drrnrchr TFTC.

While staying at Cloncurry for a few days decided to do this Trail this morning. Every container found easily which by having accurate co-ords helped. Thanks for the effort in placing this Power Trail.
This is our 1890 find. We are hoping to hit 2000 before we get home (20 July)after 3 months on the road TFTC
While making our way south east to the QOGM event today we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Well back again collecting a few more smilies from newly published caches. A great bison trail, easy to find and they are well attached to the trees making them to last a long time. We managed to find all of the caches with the geo van in tow. Caches and contents were very good as well as the co-ords.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Some time to spare between mine sites today.
Made quick finds here, appreciated, as it was a sunny and humid day.
Thank you drrnrchr for hiding a new series of geocaches for the community to enjoy.

Heading our way today from Mount Isa to Winton, we could see that there were a few recent placements here in Cloncurry.
Since Cloncurry is about 100 K from Mount Isa, it seemed like a good stopping place for us to take a break. We were rewarded here with a blank log, and have added L name.
Thanks drrnrchr. A lovely surprise today, and a FP here.
