This was my third or fourth visit to GZ over the last year. I usually looked to the heavens and eventually gave up as the cache was missing. So after many recent finds it was time to try again. Parked in a familiar spot and wondered to GZ. Started looking up again and it soon felt like a repeat. I had made it all around the tree in good light condition and bot spotted it . Then I saw it hanging almost within arms reach! Big sigh of relief. Signed and returned to a high location. Thank you DARKSIDEDAN for putting the cache out, maintaining it and contributing to this great hobby we have. Happy trails, Flintstone's
08:42Signed as MEGA CREW during the CITO. Logged here because slotting this find among the rest would involve changing far too many find numbers. Thanks, DARKSIDEDAN.#8807
#19532 - 10:21:31 AM; Out on a short caching mission with albida33 this morning to collect a recently solved puzzle, then try to rectify a recent DNF and perhaps pick up another one or two off my "close to home to do" list. Last stop on the way for coffee and after a nice stroll to GZ and a good look on high, a33 spotted the cache at ground level. I signed the log as a33 had already logged it over Easter, then replaced the cache in a more appropriate location. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
At the nearby CITO the CO offered all of us who participated in the CITO a chance to log this cache as reward for helping in the clean up. Of course I, like many others, took up the offer. Who could refuse such a generous offer. Thanks DarksideDan.
This find is a gift from the CO as the container was being maintained at the time of a nearby event. He graciously signed the log on behalf of everyone while he was up there. Thanks Dan-er, Signal-DSD. Whoever you are
Day #7 Geobashing We were off to the Deep Space Tour today as well the CITO so targeted specific Canberra caches along the way with OzHockeyChick, kristysadventures, papi4506 and GeoTurtle37.After arriving at the CITO the CO was replacing this one and logged it as MEGA Crew.I wanted to complete the solve on this one though so we headed off to WP1 and WP2 and gathered all our info. Reading the next steps almost gave me a headache and I knew I was in for some homework. Interesting choice of cache type as Id be surprised if anyone could do this in the field (despite the tall tales you may read).Back infront of the PC I contemplated how to pull this together and realised that my old friend excel was going to be a TOTT for solving this. Sure enough what I thought would be a headache, became fun, and I quite enjoyed solving it. That was of course until the numbers didnt work. After double checking again and still no joy, I read and re-read the instructions. It would appear that although the base instructions suggesting removing duplicates will give you 260 words, you shouldnt actually remove the duplicates. The remove duplicates instruction is really only relevant for Item C only. I replaced all the words and the numbers became far more plausible! Despite the wording, I really enjoyed this puzzle. The actual find took very little effort given the crowd, although we did have the necessary TOTTs to retrieve it ourselves should it have been required. For the WP3 puzzle element, Im giving this one a favourite!A big thanks goes to DARKSIDEDAN for taking the time to add The Highest Mint Tin in Harrison to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Found as part of the gathering from the CITO attendees, signed as mega crew, with permission of the CO.
Thanks Dan for doing the honours here, what a wonderful bonus for the CITO attendees.Im so glad I was able to be part of the MEGA Crew here tonight. Also really needed a Multi today as I slowly chip away towards finding 1000 of them for a cache signed in Dimboola.Had high hopes of getting more whilst in Canberra, but for many of them either our ladder or pole were not long enough, so I really appreciated your assistance with this one ??
Geobash Easter Mega - Day #5 (Easter Monday 1/4)For day five of my trip, I decided on power trailing my way to and from my third and final (pre-booked) tour at the Deep Space Tracking Station. This makes my four tours total. The power was a mixture of two joined into one. The two main PTs were, Beautiful View PT and the Drive Trip PT. There were also a couple of others along the way which needed to be added to the mix to break it up a little. It was great fun but very hard going as not all of them were at GZ given on the cache page or were in prickly bushes. Many battle scars were earned but it certainly was fun though. Once at the Deep Space Tracking Station it was a great tour. I learnt lots and got to the radio telescopes up close. I also got to find the caches around the area before heading off. After leaving, I power tailed my way back via the other way to get back to Canberra and then had a very late lunch. After that, I headed off to the CITO to finish the day off. TB visit. If the cache wasnt signed as JohnoMawbs, it was signed as JM or as the tour group name. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs & TFTCs Signed as 'Mega Crew'. Just before the CITO began, I and a group of others headed over to this cache. After a long search, The CO had a replacement with him because not even he could find it. It has now been signed and replaced. Thanks for another cache DSD. Now onto the CITO.
Signed as mega crew during the nearby CITO with the generous permission of the CO. Thanks, DARKSIDEDAN for allowing us all to claim this multi. Thanks for find #6051TNLN

Logs were signed ABP to save time and space on the logsheets. It was a productive day, focusing mainly on caches of interest, with a variety of cache types. The weather was fine and quite warm, in contrast to some of the other times Ive been in Canberra over Easter. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache.
Found with gwd.aussie while up for the Canberra GeoBash. Signed as Mega Crew while attending the CITO.Thanks DARKSIDEDAN
A group of CITO attendees began the walk over to GZ to find this cache with the CO tagging along with us. On arrival we all began the search for the illusive mint tin. Previous finders logs were read after there seemed to be no sign of the cache either above or on the ground. After continuing our search for a short time CO confirmed our fears.... the cache was missing.... . Thankyou Darksidedan for walking all the way back to the carpark to grab a new cache container for us to place back into it's hiding place and signing the log for us as mega crew.
While at the CITO, a group visited to try and find the container. In the end it was signed as mega crew. Now to collect some unwanted items, mainly plastic, little bits of plasticThank you the hide DARKSIDEDAN
The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time.Today was an early start to attend an event with all the other April fools before heading off to Murrumbateman with a borrowed ladder to attempt some high terrain caches. The afternoon saw us enjoying a fabulous behind the scenes tour of the Deep Space Tracking Station which finished just in time for us to attend the Geobash CITO. A long but enjoyable day. Just before the CITO, we joined a group to search in vain for this cache. Luckily for us all, the CO was present and replaced it as we watched on.Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us and adding to our enjoyment.
1 April 2024An extended Easter holiday with +Wife, EveTheStaffy, and nirgalagrin. Our first time caching in ACT. In fact, our last visit here was 25 years ago.Found during the CITO. Signed as MEGA CREW to save space on the new log. Thanks DSD for the cache and permission to log.

Canberra Geobash Road Trip 2024. Day Seven: Deep Space tour at Tidbinbilla, with a few targetted caches either side. Once we had finished at the cito, we made our way over to gz for this multi, so we could see the cache our names had been put into.Later we headed to the posted coords so we could solve the multi - a little bit like reverse engineering I guess. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, DARKSIDEDAN ??~????????~
Found on a typical Autumn day with Roostaman,. . Another found while in town for the ACT Mega event. Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN, ***MrsRoosta***

Well it is Canberra Geobash Mega time and Im spending 6 nights up here on the Mega site and also the ACT has put on some brilliant weather for us so far during the day.Well it is day 4 for me and it was a very fresh and chilly start to the morning for the 5am event.Back to the Mega site for a coffee then I was going to start with finding a few Virtuals for a challenge cache.Left site as the sun was coming up to beat the crowds. After spending a fair bit of the morning around the lake and surrounds collect Virtuals, then it was trek up Mt Painter to find a few more plus Canberras first in the afternoon now it is time for the CITO.As I arrived at the sports ground a tad early I soon found the nearby trad and then wandered over to GZ with a small group. With plenty of eyes looking skyward and even a few reading past logs we could not spot this one.Soon the CO arrived and eventually he called it that it was missing. He soon replaced the cache and we all signed in as the Mega Crew. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN TFTC.

Back to the car he wentt for a replacement cache and kindly signed it as the Mega CrewThanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache.

Another fantastic day here in Canberra, the locals have certainly turned the wonderful weather for the event, maybe they had a chat with the Lord Above. We did not find many caches today but they certainly are quality caches. We signed a couple of challenge caches that we do not qualify for but found many others that we do qualify for and signed. The event last night was fantastic with loads of people to chat with. Logged as part of The Mega Crew SL TFTC

After spending the morning at the mega site, Mr Minion and I joined lee737, Samuel737, Googlehihihi and EthisEthat for some caches in the area. We spent a while looking in the tree trying to find the cache before spotting it on the ground. The cache was replaced in a spot much more deserving of the DT rating. Thanks for the cache TNLN SL
This multi is a monster, and was solved over many visits. I first tackled the first one which wasn't too hard, then grabbed a omega amount of photos for each textbox to plug into yours truly, Python. Managed to get most of the answers pretty close which allowed me to grab coords for WP3, or two? I've lost myself. Took a bit of searching at the penultimate waypoint but soon spotted the goods. Managed to work out GZ without too much effort but the cache was missing from my last visit. Came with Mighty Minions, Team737 and GHHH today and soon found the cache on the ground. Returned the cache to what I assume was the correct spot. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN! A killer multi, wow!
#7626Easter Saturday and the day of the GeoBash... We hung out with EthisEthat and GHHH for most of the day touring Canberra finding a bunch of multis we solved yesterday, plus a bunch of other gems, with a lot of tree-fishing. In the afternoon we were joined by Mighty Minions. Another glorious day weather wise too, we've been very lucky so far this weekend.Found on the ground by Mr MM, replaced by Samuel in a likely spot. Thanks for the cache!
#7627Its MEGA time once again, this time in the Capital! Day 3!Another day caching around Canberra! Having an awesome time just grabbing anything and everything! From the tippy tops of trees to the tunnels underneath the cities, well see what we end up doing end copy paste These HMT caches are pretty fun, lots of good DTs! Solved the puzzle a while back and came for the find today, found it on the ground after some searching so we replaced it at an appropriate height and went on our way! TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache DARKSIDEDAN
Bombocache found on the ground as a huge branch snapped off but replaced up high in the tree with a pole. TFTC
We found this cache while visiting Canberra for the Geobash Mega. While visiting Canberra we had a wonderful time and saw many amazing sights. We completed what we needed for the co-ords easily enough. The hardest part was waiting (with our TOTT in hand) for the school kids & teacher to pass by. They appeared to be returning to class from from sport at the nearby oval. Once they were out of sight we finally hooked the container. Thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches for us all to find.
A lovely day out and about with geofriends and picking up a few caches before and after events today. To save space on log sheets, we signed as 6 for QLD. Thank you, DARKSIDEDAN, for this good multi that was reachable for us ??
Today I had a plan on grabbing a variety of caches and all with a varying degree of types and difficulties. There is a great number of caches with special attributes and d/t's around town. For me it was an early start and I first took off to grab a cache and a virtual after I had fueled up at the local servo. I then raced off to grab a few more before I had to meet up with my caching buddy of the day Grannysmith. We had a huge day and a lot of laughs, there were few stories to catch up on and some great caches.Logs were signed and caches replaced as found. Thanks for the hides.
TFTC smile 19780 out and about on sunny day in Canberra with so much to do signing as grannysmith1947 what a great team we make and lots of laughter and fun Thank you DARKSIDEDAN for placing this cache for our enjoyment
Cache was missing and has now been replaced by a very generous previous finder.New logbook and log
Spent an untold amount of time on this multi just to get to the Penultimate waypoint stage. Today we are picking up a few caches in CBR whilst on the way home from our new-year's camping trip along the south coast and Namadgi NP. Stopped here to have a look at this WP3, not being too sure at all if we had good coords. But as I was about to walk away I spotted it which was awesome I can't lie. Worked out the final in the car and went there with eldest geokid and a TOTT. This has been over a year in the making... but we couldn't spot the cache at the final. Ugh.#1744
Located this cache OK after getting to GZ with ilook4geo. No problem in retrieving the container and adding both names to the log. Thanks go to DARKSIDEDAN for placing and maintaining this cache.
Shared the find and retrieval here with goingplaces2. Signed the log and replaced as found. TFTC.
I left home this morning to meet up with All7 in Canberra, once getting out of the car I got a blast of the crisp Canberra weather, at home it was 13dec, and here it was 8dec and didn’t I feel it. Took a while before spotting the little cache. ,

This one was so high that Muggle65 had to carry the ladder out. I fished it down standing on a solid branch near the very top of our ladder. It was really fun
The Green Geckos & I are spending some quality time in Canberra collecting as many great D/T’s as humanly possible before we head home.

Thanks to the three caching teams who replaced the final container recently. The cache is very high now, and ready to be found by people with the right tool of the trade.
At a recent event, and chatting with the CO, we had agreed to do maintenance on this one.
It is now back in place in a rightfully, very high position given it’s Difficulty rating of 5.
All good. Found this morning with RoddyC and Hatzofff
Thanks Darksidedan

Had left this long enough and after finally getting around to collect the info at the penultimate WP a few weeks back, made the calculations quickly in the car today and off to GZ. Looked for a while, then did a PAF narrowed search area but still nothing. Looked on the ground and lower branch but no luck there either.
A busy day at the highest mint tin in Harrison. Scoured high, low and inbetween, nothing. Possible the cache is no longer in place. Suggesting a little CO tendering care
