Havent been here since my boys were wee lads playing soccer at this field Beautiful old tree and even more spectacular by torchlight on the last day of winter It did have a rather ominous message tho.. Cache log a little damp but still writable. Mihi ki a koe mo te keteroki #264
Found it... But scattered on the floor, clearly vandalised by some mean muggle who seems to have tried out their new pair of scissors...Have put it back together and hidden back in the tree but definitely needs some maintenance.
This pair of caches in Hokowhitu Park have been on my to do list for far too long. However Saturday of Kings Birthday weekend turned out to be a very good time to visit. No sport on this long weekend and this large park was absolutely deserted. A straightforward find here - it's an impressive tree! Thanks JoeyGE0.
I had looked for this cache previously, to no luck. So today being a dot day, I took my cousin along. Also a stick on the advice of pgcnz. Well, no problems seeing the cache as it was there staring at me. The vegetation is so dry and barren that nothing was hidden. Signed log and then covered with suitable camouflage. Thank you JoeyGEO. Finally a smiley.
This is the general location of my first ever geocache, when I accompanied my daughter's Guide group when they went out to try geocaching (after dark!) This must be its successor for some reason. I didn't see where the first was hidden because we let the Guides do the searching, so this was new for me. Found in the logical place with the help of a stick. Gets a FP from me.
Had a few looks around the tree, couldn't see it and then read that many ppl had the same issue recently so maybe not there anymore?
Third (or fourth?) time lucky for us with this cache, which previously always seemed to be missing, but today was a fairly quick find. TFTC
Another nice trip to the Palmerston North area with woolwood9.*Good weather and many nice caches found.* I am a lot slower now and our target caches are fewer on these trips.SL *tm/ww NZ*Thanks for giving us a reason to visit. Cool tree, ww9 found it where I was sure I had looked quite well!
Nice trip up to Palmerston North today with tmann421 to collect some caches. It was drizzling when we left Waikanae but the weather man told us last night that the sun would be out in PN. He did not disappoint.Did a couple of circuits before finally spotting the obvious hiding place.Log signed tm/ww NZTFTC JoeyGEO
Another journey to the Manawatu from Kapiti with Flowerydaze hunting for caches. Lovely warm spring day for caching. Quite an awesome host. All good here TFTC JoeyGEO
I need a pokey stick for this one, and fortunately there was a suitable one lying on the ground and I poked in a few places and managed to dislodge the cache. Talla64 was suitably impressed. After signing the log I returned it as found. Thanks for the cache JoeyGEO.
Thankfully underfoot was dry and a couple of loops I soon had the cache in hand, no one around so made good use of host and did some stretching, thanks for the placement.
#14,621. We had DNFed this cache back in December 2022, when it was missing. Noting that a new cache has since been installed, we returned to Albert Street in Hokowhitu, Palmerston North today for another park, walk and grab attempt. Fortunately, the GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. This time, it was a relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us back to this site again, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*
Replaced the container as the previous one was broken. Logbook still functional. TFTC
We attended popmacs event earlier today and as the grandkids wanted to do some caching and were unable to attend the event we came here to pick up a cache or two and have a play on the playground (we'll the grandkids anyway).
We were lucky as everyone had almost left after the soccer had finished.
The cache was a very quick find.
Thanks for the placement and the smiley

I came here today with watcache and emiliyah and this was a quick find here.
Tftc.
We played on the swings and slides after we had finished caching in this area.

In the park today with xsaveya and watcache , this was a quick find for xsaveya, signed the log and replaced as found.
Oh how I miss Saturday morning football both as a player and a coach. Took a couple of circles around before finding it. TFTC.
Searched for a while in all the nooks and crannies and no luck. Expanded search to other trees and found plastic bag containing cache in the grass on the ground.
Container is severely damaged with cracks so could do with a change. Replaced back into nook at front of tree that read 0m on my map

Mum is helping me log all my caches that I haven't logged yet.
Found with Mum (LL113).

Staying in Palmerston North for a few nights to attend the Easter event and do some activities for the school holidays. After a wander around the mall me, UnicornLex and EtherGirl are picking up a few caches before heading home.
After a few rounds of the tree I spotted a potential nook, which upon looking further contained the cache. We all logged then replaced and headed across the field for the other cache on-site.
Thanks for the cache.

Checked the biggest tree and the kids ran round tye other trees but it's our first go so not sure what we are looking for
We were unable to find this in September, when it was missing, and repeated this performance today, despite the replacement, and more accurate coordinates.
Looked for ages trying to find this cache considering we had the time to. But never found it in the end. Looked down low, Looked at normal height, And even climbed the tree barely. But still didn't find it so I think someone took it
Relatively easy find. Looked at placing a geocache here myself some months ago, but couldn't find a suitable spot as I don't really like to place such small Trads. TFTC
A day trip to Palmy to keep things ticking over. This took me a while to track down. Replaced as found. TFTC
Headed out early for a walk and to collect a few caches before work. No muggles about at this early hour so had lots of time to track down this cache, and it did take me a while. Glad to finally get my fingers on it and sign the log. Thanks JoeyCEO for the smiley.
Missed out on the one across the other side where I'd parked on Churchill and realized I've found previous cache(s) here in the past. After a couple of trips around this nice sized host I lowered my sites a little and spotted the cache cowering in there. All good and replaced as found after signing in. Cheers JoeyGE0
It's getting down to the last few days of October, which is typically my busiest caching month of the year, and same this year. However I've hardly been out, just 5 times so far this month, so I was keen to get out locally, place a couple of my own, and make a few finds to keep things ticking over. Got into double figures for the day and many of JOEYGEO's recent efforts were on my wishlist, and most were located. Thanks to all COs for their caches today.

This one took a little time but with geohound keeping watch and groundskeeper doing laps, I managed to snag this one. Tftc!

Container was muggled and replaced with new container location tweaked a bit all ready
After an in-depth search had to give up on this one as the children were getting to cold
Although our GPS seemed to want us out on the grass, it was clear the hiding place had to be the tree which outshone all the rest, but sadly we were unable to find the cache, only a giant tunnel web spider.
it is Nice that it is day light in the earlier morning so with gumboots on i visited this park where i have located several caches over the years which have since been archived, so it was pleasing to see new caches at op ends of this park and as it was early there were no school kids about at all so i made straight to the first cache and the co ords were pretty accurate here. And geo sense kicked in and the cache was quickly located, all was well here with the cache and i took nothing and left nothing . thank you for this newer cache,
Day out caching with "Infoferret", "barefootguru" and "bruzie" (Logged as CIBB). We searched the location around and around for a while, but couldn't find anything. I then spotted what looked like a painted lid lying on the ground and nearby found the rest of the container. Log sheet couldn't be found, so we replaced the log sheet, put the container back together and hid where we believed it should have been hidden. T4TC
We spent some time combing the obvious before CrystalFairy spotted a painted object on the ground, so I found its matching half. We added a log, signed as **C**rystalFairy **I**nfoferret **b**arefootguru **b**ruzie, replaced in the obvious spot, and added some cover. Thanks for the treet JoeyGE0!
CrystalFairy, Infoferret, barefootguru and myself headed up from Wellington on a thoroughly wet day for caching in the Manawatū. All caches signed as "Team CIBB" (or variations depending on who had previously found them).
We spent some time searching all around the large specimen and almost giving up before one of us spotted part of the container on the ground and soon the other half was found, but without a logsheet. Signed a replacement and replaced the cache in the obvious place with a bit of cover. All good here, and TFTC
