Last cache for the day - just arrived back from a weekend in tautahi Christchurch. Wanted to ground myself with a local cache before heading home. Nice easy find here, sharing its hidey hole with a slug. Log a bit damp but signable - apart from the big red smudge I managed to do on it Mihi ki a koe mo te keteroki #488
No socks and toes are wet and maybe almost drying out, but no, back into the wet grass we go, for a nice refreshing layer of water in our socks. Both Ethermiss and I are wearing ventilated shoes, so nice and easy for the early morning dew to get in. Didn't stop us though. We're geocachers, after all!So anyway, Ethermiss found the cache while I carefully checked all the wrong places.
This pair of caches in Hokowhitu Park have been on my to do list for far too long. However Saturday of Kings Birthday weekend turned out to be a very good time to visit. No sport on this long weekend and this large park was absolutely deserted. A straightforward find here thanks to good coordinates and a helpful hint. Thanks JoeyGE0.
Quick find after a day's cycling around picking up caches I'd been meaning to do for a while. Nicely hidden cache.
All good here, no hassle finding, logging and then returning the cache as found. We have attended many primary school sports events many years ago like cricket & softball, so had a good idea where it would be located. Ive deliberately avoided trying to find this cache during term time, and today was walking past the park, when I remembered that I needed a cache for the day, and had the time to wander through the school and park grounds, and the bonus was it is in the school holidays and also not a weekend with sports events on. Easy find, so thanks JoeyGEO for placing a cache for me to find today.
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Took a whileCheers, Cympull.
An average weather day after the event today, good time to return for this previous DNF. Headed to rear of tree, checked that, then looked to the corner and a glint of green was enough, cheers JoeyGE0.Been a few years since my last GIFF event, I think my previous couple were at Seagnoid's rental in Blenheim which was a pleasant stream-side stroll of around 400m from my chateau up on Wither Hills! With this years 10th anniversary iteration being hosted in Palmy by the Etherlord Crew it was a target for the weekend to head here and watch the entries. The weather was good, not that it mattered as we were indoors, and the movie-snips were of a better collective standard than previous years (I think)Was good to catch up with the local crew, share some bon mots , and drop my haul of TBs and GCs, so long. Soon enough it was time to leave so bid farewell and headed off for a couple of local caches before heading home.
**19,032**After a DNF on the previous cache in this park we strolled over to this one, enjoying the nice walk tonight. The tree was located and the search commenced. Have to admit to have been looking for a slightly larger container but pleased to locate the bison and sign our name. TFTC
Nice day out and about with tmann421 , heading to PN for Popmac's October event.Soon had this one found.Log signed tm/ww NZThanks for the cache
A few caches before the Popmac October Event.*Out with woolwood9, a slower pace today but still able to get to the cache!*Soon found in light rain, ww9 took it for the team here in the extra wet area! SLThanks for the reason to visit this park area again.
Replaced with bison tube. All ready to go again!Happy caching The Hokowhitu Tree (Manawatu) maintained at:4/10/23 12:23PM
No luck here today.
We read some of the previous logs and looks like we are waiting for someone to put it back.

A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I cruised around today, picking up the odd cache on our journey around Palmerston North. The weather was good most of the day, and the traffic was OK too.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Staying in Palmerston North for a few nights to attend the Easter event and do some activities for the school holidays. After a wander around the mall me, UnicornLex and EtherGirl are picking up a few caches before heading home.
A quick find at GZ, then a stop at the playground.
Thanks for the cache.

Just downloaded this today as something fun to do with the kids who absolutely loved it.
**S 40 21.363 E 175 37.922**#14,552. Park, walk and grab in Hokowhitu, Palmerston North. Fortunately, the GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a bit of searching around different objects. The GPS was reading about 12 metres away, not sure if the cache had migrated or not. The cache was however in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Replaced where found.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*
We were unable to find this in September, but today after looking at the coordinates without success, we read some recent logs, and proceeded to the correct location, where the cache was quickly found. Our coordinates were S40 21.365 E175 37.921. TFTC
Having noted the advice from the previous finder we returned to make a quick find without disturbing any vegetation. Does help if one’s searching the right tree. GPS had us 14m out but who knows what’s actually correct. Thanks JoeyGE0 - have now found all your active caches in the Manawatu region.
Thanks to Danosaur37's advice we found it after getting a face full of cobwebs looking in the wrong tree. TFTC
Headed out early for a walk and to collect a few caches before work. Found the other cache nearby but no joy here. Found the area at GZ pretty worked over and so limited my search particularly as capperz couldn’t find it.
No luck for me here. Circled the tree on the corner and checked behind a few things to no avail. First DNF if the day
Looked in the wrong spots for a little bit but had I stood still and looked closely from afar then it would've been an easier find. Tftc!
Took a bit of looking as the coordinates where a touch off but with it being a cold wet day had the entire park to myself so I eventually found the catch.
I need two geocaches today to continue the 4th loop of my 366-day calendar. Fortunately I grabbed the Piece of Rubbish on the way here and after a futile search for a Treet this was the twoth one I needed. TFTC
it is Nice that it is day light in the earlier morning so with gumboots on i visited this park where i have located several caches over the years which have since been archived, so it was pleasing to see new caches at op ends of this park and as it was early there were no school kids about at all so i made straight to the first cache and although the co ords me a little way away, geo sense kicked in and the cache was quickly located, all was well here with the cache and i took nothing and left nothing . thank you for this newer cache,
One of the set found with CF, BFG & Bruzie, which I forgot to log at the time. Coordinates a touch out, which led to me doubting my phone and my sanity! Eventually found the bits of the cache on the ground, so returned where it probably was One of the set found with CF, BFG & Bruzie, which I forgot to log at the time. to be. TFTC JoeyGeo
Day out caching with "Infoferret", "barefootguru" and "bruzie" (Logged as CIBB). Quick and easy find on the other side of the field from the last cache. T4TC
Quick find on opposite side of park from our previous cache. Signed as **C**rystalFairy **I**nfoferret **b**arefootguru **b**ruzie. Thanks for another JoeyGE0
CrystalFairy, Infoferret, barefootguru and myself headed up from Wellington on a thoroughly wet day for caching in the Manawatū. All caches signed as "Team CIBB" (or variations depending on who had previously found them).
Wandering up the path CF and BFG had found the cache by the time IF and myself had made it to GZ. We wondered if we would have made it first if we had walked across the fields instead . All good here, and TFTC

A quick walk across Hokowhitu Domain to the tree for an easy find this morning. Thanks JoeyGE0 for the cache.
A nice easy find here at the most likely spot.
T F T C JoeyGE0.
I was in Palmy and decided to put a dent into the recent flurry of new caches.
Aside from getting wet shoes and feet on my way to the first cache it was a good little mission of seven caches.

Tftc Quick easy find had nice company by a cat and cashe was being guarded by the local cat and no muggles around at night
My grandson and I went to visit this park just before dusk-an ideal time for geocaching here!A quick find and a good cache.Wrote the log and re- concealed carefully.TFTC!
We walked in a couple of parks today, motivated of course by the new caches available. It was quite sqelchy underfoot but was at least fine while we were out - the rain staying off until we'd finished.
We thought there would be little sports activity on a Sunday but at Coronation Park touch rugby practice was in full swing and at Hokowhitu Park a women's soccer tournament was underway. Nevertheless we attracted no attention - just some old folks out for a walk!
For this cache we parked in Churchill Ave at a walkway entrance and the cache was only a short walk away. That proved to be a good thing because further over the park was busy with soccer games being played.
The cache was quite well concealed and took a little searching for but all was soon attended to and we were on our way again. TFTC JeoyGE0.

At the conclusion of today's IGD2022 Meet&Greet event at Cafe116, many of the attendees' cellphones dinged in unison which filled the air with a spirit of antici...pation!
@TwigNZ was the driver today, and we were soon off.
Having come from one of the other FtFs, we parked up and made our way through the alleyway onto the field only to hear someone yelling out. We looked around and saw @SearchSteve bringing up the rear.
We arrived at GZ and was surprised at the proximity to the school. Hopefully the school kids don't play here?
We each circled the apparent host a few times before I re-searched a location and hit pay dirt.
Log was quickly signed, and we moved on to the other new one on the opposite side of the domain.
Thanks for the new caches, JoeyGE0, and happy birthday for yesterday

Having attended an event to help celebrate IGD2022 this morning, suddenly I was made aware of a number of newly released caches. So @Etherlord Clan and I headed out the door to see if we could nab some FTFs. We met up at GZ with searchSteve and shared the find.
This was our 2nd FTF for today. I have to admit that I missed the cache on my first look, but luckily EC spotted what I had missed. Was the log still blank? Yes it was, but not for long
Thank you for placing these new caches.
