Thank you for hosting this geocaching Event! The date of the Event has passed. We automatically archive Events after 30 days (60 days for Mega- and Giga-Events). Attendees can still log archived Events, log trackables, and share their experiences.
Sorry For The Late Log here not sure why this is showing as unfound did my log through GSAK but for some reason all the Events didn't log for me. Anyway was a great weekend and had a blast up until the last night with that rain but you can't do much about that. Thanks
Catching up on a bit of logging (most of it late or very late, apologies on that fact).I enjoy attending these events, it's great to catch up with other cachers to chat about all things caching.thanks for hosting this ripper event. Thanks to GeocachingVictoria for organising this event.
I was heading home after the enjoyable experience of attending my first Mega. We had cleared up a few Adventure Labs, and now it was time to attend the Farewell Event.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of meeting a lot of other geocachers and feeling very welcome in the hobby. I met Lackeys from the US and had the enjoyable experience of sitting in on a Q&A with the Lackeys and all the reviewers from around Australia and even some from overseas.
I am really impressed by the organisation that has gone into this Mega.
This event was a nice way to finish off before headed off home.
Thank you GeocachingVictoria for this Event.

Sorry for the generic log.
Ilukaperi, Nakarra and myself thoroughly enjoyed our mega weekend, despite the weather. We camped away from it all at Anderson’s campground and headed into town every day. From smashing out some power trails where we worked together very well, as always, to the maze, the puzzle rooms. We had a ball. Thankyou to all those who placed and maintain these caches for us to find and to all the volunteer hours to run not just the mega, but all the satellite events as well. Brilliantly done.

Busy day today with a group from Canberra chasing all over the countryside finding puzzles we had solved and picking up caches we had targeted. Good to make it back for this event and help thank all the workers and volunteers for putting together a great event. Well done all.
All good things must come to an end. At least the weather behaved a little more cooperatively today. Well done to the organising committee on a brilliantly run MEGA weekend ??.
Well, what a marvellous event this has been. The organisation and interesting caches are a tremendous credit to all the committee, volunteers and cache owners. To have this event run so smoothly, despite the best attempts of the weather to snooker things, reflects the effort these people have put in for our benefit.
Thanks All for your dedicated work.
Thanks All for your dedicated work.
Another beautiful show of gratitude and joy within the geocaching community. I am so blessed to be a part of this! Congratulations to all the raffle and award winners, and cheers to wrapping an incredible event weekend!
What a thoughtful and celebratory event to wrap up the weekends festivities. So much effort and care goes into organizing Mega events, it was nice to see everyone get appreciated publicly for their efforts. Overall an amazing weekend experience with wonderful geocachers at every turn.
Massive shout out to the committee and volunteers who put on a fabulous show. This is only my 2nd Mega and to me, the what part is seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends.
Thanks again

Heard that absolute great weekend hope everybody had one as well And thank you for the committee who put all our absolute great events over the weekend keeping everybody entertained Whittlesea mega 2022
After volunteering for a couple of hours with the desk and helping with clean up, it was time to sadly say goodbye. A very well run Mega with lots of people to thank. So thanks to all who made it possible and gave their time to make the event happen.
Farewell for a great Weekend of caching and all of the committees hard work to get This up an running. Thanks for all of the caches, gadgets, puzzle rooms GPS maze, the events and all of the tireless work!

Many thanks to everyone who put on such a great event. A most enjoyable weekend. Bravo
A huge shout out to everyone who has made this such a successful event. It has been a great Mega and well worth the trip.
Always sad to say goodbye but it to end at some point! Had an enjoyable weekend at my first Australian Mega event. Met new people and caught up with some others (including an old school friend who I hadn’t seen in 30 years!). Thanks to all those involved in organising and the volunteers who helped out to make this weekend a great affair. Now, with the important stuff out of the way, I’ll catch up with family before heading home to New Zealand.
AWESOME stuff. The "thank yous" were done so well by RoamingHowie - you are a legend and did a marvellous job. The efforts of all committee members, volunteers and other geocachers is greatly appreciated. This was one of the best Megas I've been to (and this is my 14th + 2 Gigas).
THANK YOU so much for the fun, laughter, caching and friendships that continue to flourish because of events like these.

FTF. Attended and said farewell to Whittlesea. Always sad when the Mega is over, although this time we don't have to wait as long for the next one. Walking towards the pavilion for the goodbyes the campsite looked very quiet after the bustle of yesterday. I wasn't ready to rush off when the event was over, so hung around for a bit grabbing a couple more caches with some friends. TFTME
This event was attended today and brings our overall cache find tally to 12069.
Good-byes are so hard but we'll see you all at the next one. A moving closing event.
Thanks GeocachingVictoria for the event.

Thanks for fabulous first mega experience
Love support for puzzle solving which was such a huge part of this mega
Thanks for checking in on us when weather was so crap and making sure our sites were ok.
Creation of puzzle room and maintenance just amazing and the collaboration with strangers an incredible experience.
Really appreciate experience - thank you

This was my last chance to accompany Signal on his meet and greet duties. After this, I joined the farewell and got the chance to wish old friends and new a safe trip to their next destination. Thanks for everything that has gone into such a fabulous weekend, finished off with this event. Thank you.
Great to see that there were still lots of people here after so many had tribulations with the weather. Thank you to everyone that made this fantastic weekend happen after a couple of years and all that was tossed in your way. Thank you one and all.
Thanks to the organizers and volunteers for donating their time and effort to making this happen so that we could all get smileys!
Thanks to all the other cacher's that attended. It was fun chatting and collaborating with you solving gadgets and finding caches.
I don't know if it's just me, but Megas make me at least (one fifth of plowfive) feel like a kid a again - lots of fun and adventure.

Some moving speeches, some lucky winners, and all of a sudden it was all over. A big thank you to the committee, the sponsors, the volunteers, and the people of Whittlesea for a fantastic weekend. Let’s do it again!
After the build up - this weekend has gone so fast. I can't believe it is coming to a close. Thank you Geocaching Victoria for organising a great Mega, a HUGE THANKS to ALL the Volunteers over the weekend who gave up their time to help make the weekend run smoothly. Thank you to GeoStuff for packing up the shop and making the trip over from Adelaide. I can't thank Team Crackers enough for the wonderful Fireworks display on Saturday night. It was my pleasure to help pick up the debris from the oval on Sunday morning - although I now have muscles that obviously hadn't been used in a long time!!
It was wonderful to be able to watch everyone's smiling faces over the weekend and then again today at this event when Roaminghowie and heymissjo read through the list of Thank you's and gave out the remaining prizes.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone again at Rutherglen in April 2023 that is in 20 weeks time!!
THANK YOU TEAM - WE DID IT!! ALL HAIL THE KING!

Jumped over the ditch from NZ with KNCN we're both pretty chuffed on attending the Mega here. Travelling with wilbywarrior today picking up the few we had missed on the previous days and of course a few more!
Last event we are able to attend, what an awesome Mega we have had! Great turnup of many cachers still around. Thanks to all the hard work muchly appreciated ??

Well what a brilliant event this Mega was!
We know we've said it in other logs, but we can't say it enough ... thank you to the brilliant and dedicated team who brought it to us. Facing all sorts of constant obstacles and weather, you shone through and delivered. You should all be so proud. Well done and thank you again to the crew and volunteers and sponsors. Enjoy the accolades as you rest and recover!

The final official event for the Wonderful Mega we’ve just had. It was informative and fun. We met many friends, both new and old. Weather did not spoil the event and we had time to enjoy the district while finding caches. This event wrapped up the last few pieces of unfinished business and our last chance to catch up with people before we turned our heads for home.
So lovely to see so many cachers still around for the farewell. Wonderful speech and thankyous from RoamingHowie. I am so proud to have been part of the Mega Committee. A true bunch of legends!
Congratulations to the raffle, colouring and gadget cache winners.
Thanks for the MEGA event, GeocachingVictoria ??

Today was day 2 around the Whittlesea area, and after the Escape Room, the crew (Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Tassie Trekkers and Whitewebbs) targetted the "LGA Mutlis" and other caches in the area
Thank you for the cache.
All caches stamped with "Team Tassie"
November 2022 was planned as a trip to the Mega in Melbourne, so we flew from Hobart to Adelaide to find quite a few caches that we had missed last time. Some great caches were found, but the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather. No matter the showers we found quite a few caches on the trip (Around 600) including a number with high Terrian values.
The drive-through down the Murray river on the NSW / Victoria border showed the impacts of the current floods. A number of caches planned were canceled due to the flooding. Unfortunately, many of these caches will have been lost to the flood. The Mega, as per the whole week, was on and off a wet time, even so a number of caches were still found with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers

The outpouring of love during the closing ceremony was evident and had many of the people watching even tearing up. what a great send off for the weekend by a team who evidently care for each other. Congratulations on a great weekend. TYFTE
**This Cache:**
A very heartfelt event with some really great speeches by the committee, got quite emotional at times, so many people have worked so hard on this event for us all to enjoy and it really shows! Great idea to wrap up the weekend in such a nice way! Lots of people showed up for it too which was good to see. Appreciate everything and thanks for hosting. I signed the log too that was being passed around!
---
**Today:**
Today was a fairly chill day! We were all pretty shattered, myself especially from several days of hiking, walking and long days of fast paced caching! Everyone was still keen to get out there though, so we put 2 people in each car and just casually agreed who was following who and finding random caches here and there. I enjoyed following behind DSD as it meant I could switch off my brain a little bit and just park behind him each time, jump out for another cache, and keep going! Didn't have to think about anything too much and just enjoy the serenity of exploring!
We started the day at 7am but finished by 4:30pm! By far the earliest day all week, and then just relaxed in the accomodation, had a chat and ate some food! We also managed to attend the Farewell event near the end of the day before making sure we had cleaned up any final local caches and heading to the accomodation as we were leaving the next morning!
Thanks to all the CO's

29,017. Found with minniek during our Whittlesea Mega Adventure Trip. Alternatively signed as fitzy & minniek, F65 & MK, MAFS, WCCG or similar depending on who we were with at the time.
Day 4 of our Mega Trip. After three great days of our trip this was to be the biggest day plus heading home. The Canberra Region Cachers gathered for coffee and food before heading out to tackle the TWC, Letterboxes, Beginner Puzzles and anything else along the way (and there were a lot). Once we finished all that (big day) we arrived here for the last event of the Mega for us. Sad but true. Bring on Rutherglen !!
Thanks GeocachingVictoria !!

Well you know you’re enjoying a mega when you make the drive 4 times in 3 days!! We had to come back to Boronia for a Christmas Function for GMelb for Careline on Saturday afternoon but we drove back up to Whittlesea again to attend the awards night and fireworks etc so we were very happy the fireworks did go ahead! We would have understood if they didn’t so what champions they are!! The whole weekend was awesome and we continuously saw smiling faces wherever we went, the atmosphere was just so happy despite the weather challenges thrown around! The activities on site were fantastic, the puzzle room was a definite fave followed extremely closely by the maze and gadget alley. I am still tired today (Tuesday)….. so I simply can’t imagine how the committee are feeling!!! But the dominant feeling I hope you all have is satisfaction of a job monumentally well done!! Bask in all the glory coming your way everyone, you deserve it in spades!! The event was very well attended, probably the most people we have ever seen at a Farewell event, to the point where we retreated outside just to feel a bit more comfortable. Congratulations to the Gadget Alley and Raffle winners.
Can’t wait for Rutherglen! Now we’re not driving up and back for that one 4 times, so we better get on to booking some accommodation!! ??

Well the fantastic Whittlesea Mega weekend has finally come to an end.
A great closing ceremony and congratulations to all of the prize winners for all of their great efforts.
There was plenty to do and see over the whole weekend to keep us all entertained.
I did not realise that Pathtag trading was such a serious business until after attending one of the trading sessions.
Looking around the room at all of the smiles on everyone’s faces it looked like everybody had a great time.
Looking forward to meeting a lot of you again at future events and Mega’s.
The baton was passed on to Day1976 and his great team to bring on another great Mega in Rutherglen 2023.
See you all at the Rutherglen Mega Easter 2023.
Thanks GeocachingVictoria TFTEC.

Attended with AlphaDeltaIndigo, SEMIK, BrewMaker and EverestHigh. Again, we couldn't stay long, those pesky airline schedules dictated our depature time, and there was a few goals to complete with limited time. TFTE Geocaching Victoria!
So long Whittlesea and friends.
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu!
So long, farewell, au revoir, auf wiedersehen
I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye -- Goodbye!
grabbed a few TBs to move along.

good bye to the next mega, cya there
The JAMS team ( JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, and sir_spectre minus mitchell&hound ) but Tallbikestan was with us instead and we where out for there usually monthly caching adventure. This time it was over the october long weekend instead of the usual day trip. The taget this time was Drop into the Light a long ladder cache on the way to clare and then to clear the Rattler trail, Riesling Trail, Ne Trail saturday on the bikes and then sunday do the Mid North Channel Country bike trail. Monday on the return home was to get Peter's view a 2001 cache. Of course there was many, many other's found on route to the various target for the weekend, somewhere around 260 found by the team. It could have been more but we were not going at a flat out pace, just steady and getting a blow out on the bike 1.6 km's from the end of the Mid North Channel Country bike trail didn't help. I didn't see any snakes this trip but allister did, he saw 5. The caches this trip where written in as JAMS, i forgot the stamps. Also 1 cache was placed by the JAMS team this trip. Out of all the bike tracks i preferred the Rattler /Riesling trail. I like riding through the very rich ( after all the recent rains ) fields of yellow flowers.

Our final event for the Mega and chance to say goodbye to friends. Good to hear how successful this had been in raising money for the Whittlesea community. Now off for a few more caches and then back home. Thanks to the Organising Committee and Geocaching Committee for the event.
With the camp all packed up after surviving the wicked weather last night and the rising creek that almost invaded the campsite it was time for one last event before heading home.
Thank you everyone for a great Mega that was so well organized. The time and effort you all put in was nothing short of amazing.
Thank you so much

Thanks to all the participants and especially to the organizing committee for a fantastic experience this weekend. I had high hopes for my first mega and they were exceeded in every way.
Joy and delight, acceptance comradery and love were evident right through the weekend but particularly on show at this farewell event. It was lovely to be a small part of that, thank you.

Thanks for a great Mega - see you in Rutherglen.
The JAMS team (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) have hit the road again, this time heading to the Wittlesea Mega event caching along the way. We had various goals that we wanted to achieve on our 5 day road trip concentrating on old caches, LGA's, unusual D/T combinations and caches with lots of favourite points. [^]
We covered a lot of ground and had a fun time touring around Victoria. We also really enjoyed the Mega and caught up with lots of people, some we hadn't seen for quite a while. There was plenty to see and do at the showgrounds and we managed to fit events, labs and the maze while we were there before heading out to find more caches.
We were lucky with the weather, which turned out to be much nicer than what was forecast and we were able to get out there and find the caches we had targeted. All in all a great 5 days.
Today we stayed around Whittlesea finding as many of the TWC caches as we could and others we came across on our travels.
Thanks for organising this event GeocachingVictoria.

I was rather unprepared for this event as I hadn't spent much time looking into all the different events, etc happening around the Mega itself. Thankfully GJMMelb was more organised and gave me the heads up about this one so we planned to regroup here. Logbook stamped (I'm surprised my stamps haven't dried out from years of little to no use!), caught up with a few old caching friends. We learned about the gadget trail in the process so put that on our to-do list for the drive home So many caches, so little time...
Felt a bit odd saying farewell to people with still another event to go tomorrow. I signed the book and then headed off to find more caches!
Thanks for the event!
Thanks for the event!
Found with the JAMS crew on our Whittlesea Mega weekend. I got to met a lot of great people.
What an awesome Mega.
A real credit to RoamingHowie and his tireless band of volunteers.
Mother Nature threw a hell of a lot at you, and you came through with flying colours.
I can only imagine the hundreds of hours of work you put in to make this event happen and the work you did throughout the event.
I think you all deserve a holiday to cache wherever you want without thinking about organising.
We had a ball. I was stoked to have my brother attend his first Mega, claiming the CITO as this first official cache. Welcome to the addiction JTreeTrack2.
I had an awesome start caching with Donutholes on Mt Disappointment, cached with Sims_family, neville_devil, JTreeTrack2 and others at various times.
Had wonderful conversations with other geocachers from all over the country and overseas.
I met four Lackeys and spoke to quite a few Reviewers.
Amazingly, such a fantastic event is created by the community for the community.
Tis, an awesome community, to be a part of. Looking forward to Rutherglen next Easter.
Thank you GeocachingVictoria for this Event

Farewell indeed, to the weirdest, most isolated attendance I've ever made to an event.
I guess I should feel fortunate to have even attended. It might feel that way later, but there are a lot of emotions mixed up in my day.
Thanks, GeocachingVictoria, for all your hard work in getting this to happen.

At the Whittlesea Mega 2022 - a weekend of caching, socialising, making new friends, seeing old friends, eating, ad-labs, a maze, trackables, rain, wind, low blood sugar problems, mud, more mud, early morning loud ravens right outside my tent, pathtag swapping, my tent getting broken by wind, packing up a tent in the gusting wind, dumping stuff back into the car, plan B commuting, lots of water, soggy ground, and with an undercurrent of cracked rib pain - all resulting in a combination of type 1 fun (fun, fun) and type 2 fun (a good story to tell afterwards, fun).
With a full few days of doing stuff when I probably should have been resting, it was good to make it to the final event. A very impressive faux check was handed to Rotary to assist with a town center defibrillator.
Thanks to all the committee members, volunteers, gadget makers who make the magic happen, and also all the cachers who come. It'd be a bit of a fizzer if no-one showed up. You could say, we were all blown away... but some people will say anything given half a chance.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache GeocachingVictoria

Well, we couldn’t miss out on this fanfare.
CJDenno and I were all packed up and ready to roll home after a big weekend.
Weather, it tried and almost got us.
Soggy road shoulders, it tried and as us at some stage.
But in all, we stayed and were grateful or the final event.
Great speech by RH and well done to GV for all the efforts to get this Mega off the ground.
Thanks again.

A great opportunity to say farewell to Whittlesea, geo-buddies and friends. I must admit some of them this was the first time I had seen them all weekend.
Congratulations to the Committee and Volunteers for a successful event.

Attended with hevwalker, what a great weekend and lots of fun was had at the showgrounds and out and around Whittlesea. Thanks for all the hard work and great caches. Fantastic event and weekend. TFTC
Another a great event from this weekend.
Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.
At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 18th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who travelled up from down South to join us for the day.
The best caches I have found so far are:-

Thanks to all who made the mega possible. We hovered outside as it was a bit crowded.
Sunday, and again we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and Mrs Whitewebbs to find as many of the local caches that we could, working on the TWC series, the multis (from the wall) and returning for the farewell event. We were joined by the toolman for the day too and had lots of laughs despite the horrendous weather.
It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Tassie Trekkers, Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.
Thanks for all the caches.

Whittlesea Mega Trip Day 4. The second day of the Mega was a day for a whole bunch of Canberra cachers get together and make a mass effort on the TWC puzzle caches and any other caches that are on the roads we pass along the way. A huge effort had been put in by everyone in the team to solve all of these over the past year or so. There were several cars and our full group was Kitty Katch, Joolay, Barb2e, Isopeda, Dt773, Tankengine, Youban, Aquilus, Grayhams, Sol de Lune, LuckL10n, Smitten Granny, Contesta, cosmonaut97, Nibletricecakes, Gliss!, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK & I. We signed each log as WCCG - Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group. After grabbing a coffee at the on site vendor, we headed off and started tackling caches. There were some very rutted and wet tracks, a few trees that had to be cleared and even a walk or two. There were a few highlights, I will mention those in the relevant cache. It was a long tough day, but we made it back for the farewell event and a chance to get something to eat.
After a long day and a late lunch, we were happy to make it back in time to attend this event. Great to hear all the winners, not me this time.
Thanks.

A great time attending our 109th Event Cache. Thank you so much to all the organisers, Thanks from HA B-A
We have been planning our Whittlesea Mega trip for quite a while now, and then it was postponed, so new plans were made. It was finally time to make our way down with a convoy of myself and the FFLL ladies. We had a big weekend around Whittlesea with the ever-changing weather, fighting some hay fever, and finding a range of cache types. We also managed to catch up with a few cachers we had not seen for a while. We had a great time away, so thanks to all the COs and event hosts. Apologies in advance for the generic logs across the weekend finds, it in no way devalues any of the hides, we just have a lot of logs to write up.
Officially day 2 of the Mega, however day 3 for us in Whittlesea. Back to the Whittlesea showgrounds, a day of some more Showtime multis, TWC puzzles, labs and whatever we come across along the way. After a lovely walk along the Yan Yean Reservoir wall, we continued grabbing some more caches. Was time to head to the farewell event. A nice big turn out with many people saying their goodbyes till Rutherglen.
Many thanks to all the COs (including the event hosts) and thanks to the FFLL ladies for another funfilled weekend away.

What a weekend! What a mega event! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a great time with our long suffering Arachnauts and geokids. Thank you so much to all the committee and organisers. There is A LOT of work in getting an event of this size together and (from the outside at least) it was seamless. Well done all!
Attended with Roostamanon one of many farewells over a couple days.
Chatted to a few friends and then back on the trails again.
Thanks for the event GeocachingVictoria,

Just like Julius Cesar, I came, I saw and the Committee conquered (the fierce elements).
What an epic weekend. Solving puzzles, meeting new cachers, hearing about crazy caching adventures, meeting caching heroes, finding caching and fireworks!
Thank-you Geocaching Victoria for an extremely well executed series of events that were fun and inspiring - does it really have to end now?!

Day 3 for us of our extended weekend away and we managed to spend a bit more time in Whittlesea itself, rather than just at the Mega GZ[^]
We spent some time with SciFiRulz, Nirgalagrin, James0116, skuzzybear and Otter61[:X] plus caught up with many other lovely geocachers too[:X][:X][^]
I only found or attended 32 caches or events over the weekend plus completed the adv labs in the area[^]
Made it back just in time for this event[^]
Is the weekend over already[?][?]
Those two days sure go fast!

What a fabulous Mega! So appreciative of everyone involved. Full log to follow.
After much planning and waiting, the time had come to head south for a few days to attend the Whittlesea Mega.
So, with the car packed, the convoy consisting of us and Rapidlywild hit the road. Our plans for the weekend included grabbing this series as well as others around the area.
The Victorian weather was interesting, definitely agree with the four seasons in a day, but it didn’t dampen our plans too much.
Day 3 of our adventures and today we headed back into Whittlesea to do some more Showtime multi’s, labs and TWC puzzles and anything else that crossed our path along the way.
A break between other caching we swung by here for the Farewell. Heaps of people were still around for the draws, thank yous and farewells.
Not a shabby event at all. So thanks until Rutherglen.

We had a great time, nice to meet new people with similar interests. I get new insights at each Mega I attend. Long live the Mega. Hope to attend some more in the future.????
Wow, I couldn't believe how many cachers were at the farewell event this afternoon after not seeing many when I was here yesterday. ?? I was not able to stay for very long yesterday so I came back today with the other half of our team to go to this Farewell event, have a go at some Adventure Labs and find some caches. It was great to chat with some familiar cachers as well as a few others I had never met before, including some from interstate and overseas.
Many thanks go to GeocachingVictoria and all the Mega organisers and volunteers for all the hard work in organising this fabulous Mega, despite the challenging weather. ??? Your efforts were well worth it as can be seen from the wonderful comments in the hundreds of attended logs. Thanks also go to the sponsors for supporting this Mega. ??
Congratulations and thanks go to the gadget cache makers for bringing a touch of magic and fun to this Mega. ?? The donation to Whittlesea Rotary to assist with a defibrillator for the town was a magnificent and touching moment.

Whittlesea day 3 with fitzy_1965
Last full day of caching before heading home.
Throughout the weekend we signed as fitzy & minniek, F65 & MK, MAFS, WCCG or similar depending on who we were with at the time.
Today we cached the TWC with our friends from Canberra. Unless otherwise mentioned, all caches were found quickly and easily.
We made it back to the Farewell event in time. After the formalities, we said our goodbyes and headed back up the highway towards home....caching along the way, of course!

An incredible weekend topped off with an incredible farewell. A full house of cachers in attendance to hear the emotional speeches from heymissjo and RoamingHowie which bought the girls from the committee to tears.
So many highlights from this Mega weekend. The money raised for Rotary was unbelievable, the Puzzle room was incredibly popular, and of course the Ad Labs and Maze were as usual, huge attractions.
I’m incredibly proud to have been a part of this amazing committee, lead by our King, RoamingHowie. His enthusiasm and energy rubbed off on us all and was the perfect person for taking on this task. Love these guys.
To all the volunteers, gadget makers, Lackeys, Reviewers, anonymous donators who made this such an epic event, thank you.
Now looking forward to Rutherglen.

Thanks GeocachingVictoria, very well done for another great Event, wow so many more new faces at this one and a fitting end to the weekends activities. Sounds like another road trip down from QLD for me to Rutherglen next year ????
I had made a bold (for me) decision to fly to Melbourne for a weekend and the [Whittlesea Mega-Event](https://coord.info/GC8EW40). I've never been to Victoria really before this year, and here I am, twice in a month (a few weeks ago for work)! Last night saw a lot of big storms and loads of rain. This morning still some drizzle occasionally.
After the morning session, I debated doing the gadget labs, or doing a solo trip north for some choice geocaches. I did the latter, and have no regrets. That drive was longer than expected, I was late to lunch and by the time I returned to Mega HQ, the extra-curricular activities had been packed up. There's so much to fill a weekend!
But, we made it for the farewell event. It was here I noted a bunch of fellow Queenslanders that I hadn't seen yet, so nice to see some familiar faces. I stood back to watch the various thank-yous and acknowledgements and had a handful of chats with lovely people who I rarely see. A nice way to end this weekend. Well, almost, there's a bunch more LGA-hunting this afternoon yet!
A lot of debating happened months back in my head, but I am so very glad I came. Visiting a new state and a Mega provides just so much to do. Thank you for this weekend of events, GeocachingVictoria + Team

Found during our attendance at the long awaited mega in Whittlesea. Despite the weather we managed to get out and find a few caches and attend a couple of events.
Well not quite the end but getting close.
Well done to all the team - you can rest soon

As they say in the classics, all good things must come to an end. So much fun to be had over the weekend, meeting new people and catching up with familiar faces from zoom sessions and past events.
None of this would have been possible without the work of the amazing crew. THANK YOU ALL, committee and volunteers alike.
Thanks so much GeocachingVictoria for getting us out and about, and for the adventure highlights around Whittlesea.
