Second time looking; second time not finding. Coordinates make sense but Im missing something, obviously Thanks kan0e#4864Logged using Cachly.
I'm back in New Zealand for a short time after being away for four and a half years. It's the last week before I head back to the UK so I decided to spend some time in the centre having a look around and grabbing some caches. Spent a bit of time collecting these adventure lab caches and got the final coordinates for this bonus cache. A quick find at the final. Tftc
I was heading up to Kai Iwi Lakes for the 3 Lakes 12km trail run event. As I didn't want to leave Auckland around 4am to get there in time to register and at the start line at 8am, I decided to leave on the Friday and spend some time in Whangarei caching before spending the night at Kaihu, near the lakes. On my return the next day I returned via Whangarei for some more caching and it turned out to be a fantastic hot day. Had no trouble with the waypoints. Tried to figure out the hint, not remembering anything that matched the hint from my last visit, but all was revealed once I arrived at GZ and the cache was quickly found. Luckily it was pretty quiet and no muggles were around.
Nice and simple find. Solved the location a few weeks ago, and finally found the time to walk over. Inside the cache was a bit damp. But great hiding spot
The rain finally started to clear and so we decided to do this adventure lab and bonus cache before departing Whangarei. It didn’t take us long to visit the various waypoints to collect the information, and then work out where the bonus was hiding. At the final gz we had to time extracting the cache and replacing the cache, as there were a lot of muggles around. TFTC
Nice walk around on the Lab series and calculated the final and headed there with the boys. Plenty of nearby foot traffic but waited them out before heading for the find. Nice one kan0e
Meeting up with the little ones today at the new park, and after some play we went on a shortish stroll and snapped up some of the more recent (to me) hides.
Into June already and Winter is here with temperatures dropping later in the day, and curtains drawn earlier and earlier. Time to head to the 'Winterless North' - Yeah Right. A few days away up from Rangitikei and another 4 night stay at Chateau Ngunguru, the works bach. A good time to catch up with the family and grandchildren in Maungatapere, and a few trips to spend time with each other in Whangarei. Highlights of the visit; A few more Riser caches, some more 0B80B8 ones, meeting both of those COs within a few hours of each other on the Monday, and another rare Wherigo. As ever, thanks to all COs for their hides and maintenance.

Solved this puzzle quite some time ago. Finally had a chance to walk by and have a look. No muggles around so soon had the cache located. TFTC
Decided to do the ad lab on the Sunday while there was no one around. Walked over to GZ after getting the info. Made a quick find. Signed and replaced. TFTC
Found with stairman1. Great t see so much artwork here. Love this city. Will have to come back some time.TFTC
Found with goldielover today after doing the ad lab.

I'd recently reviewed my badges on project gc and was disappointed that I needed another 200 puzzles to reach the diamond level. But .... I was excited to see I had 1597 puzzles. I just had to grab three today to bring it up to 1600 and this was #1600.
My daughter had been with me earlier and she was complaining about getting another cache. She'd walked to one with me and enjoyed the track. "It's not even a dot day", she told me. At least she must listen to my geocaching babble sometimes, as, she was right about that. I dropped her at home and came back alone later in the day for this one.
I'd done the AdLab in a few stages for my stats. I'd just about forgotten about this final. I quickly found the info I needed and worked out the final gz and went to get it on Friday. Lack of time and no tree of that type at gz stumped me. Noticed something at gz but due to time shortages I had to rush off. I read some logs at home which confirmed my idea. Today it was a quiet area and just a quick park and grab. Thanks for another puzzle to find

Replaced, although I am worried it will be muggled again. I may need to find a different approach.
I did the AdLab at lunchtime the other day then discovered this bonus cache. Quickly solved the puzzle and picked up the cache on my way back to my car....then forgot to log it. Doing that now. TFTC
️Rain rain rain go away ️ JD found it. He likes to say, " see dear you have to stick with the experienced" , . Oh deary me he said it again.
A great exploration around Whangarei with no back tracking required. Quick easy find. TFGC
I've just noticed I never logged this. I found it a day or two after completing the AL which was on the 9th Sept.
After a trip out to Whangarei Heads then caching our way back to town, we had one more Ad Lab and bonus we wanted to complete before stopping for the day. We enjoyed our wander around downtown, especially Quality Street Mall and Botanica. We sat and worked out the coords for the final, then wandered along to make the find. We were a little surprised as we approached to not see the tree species we were expecting, then realised the GPS was pointing a little further, and saw the spot we needed to go to. Extracting the cache was easy, but extracting the logbook took a lot longer. Thanks for the wander around Downtown Whangarei.
Last cache of the day for Mrs KC and I. Timed it well for the free parking and we had a most enjoyable walk around. No problems with the final except the log book was difficult to get out. We have tried to make it easier for the next person so it doesn't tear the bag. Many thanks for setting this up.
A very stealthy hide. I did have the same thought as I approached as previous finders about the types of trees but it was obvious once I got there. It is a great lesson in assumptions. I was glad to have parked nearby. TFTC.
Most enjoyable wonder about whangarei on such a sunny day. Beautiful fern house I never knew was there and will be back. At GZ my gps took we while to settle and what do you know the CO does know his tree’s
Had not noticed this new cache until almost an hour after publication and with visitors calling in and Mrs wanting to come along as well, it was after midday before we managed to get out the door to look for this one.
With a little bit of insiding and outsiding during our walk around town on a pleasant spring day, we soon completed the Ad Lab and had some answers that made sense for the final.
Near GZ however, I initially thought the CO was having problems identifying our native flora. But then the GPS settled down a bit better and I could see that he was indeed correct. A fairly exposed location, but luckily the hint is bang on and the cache was soon in hand. We hadn't spotted any other cachers around whilst doing the AL, so was hopeful the log would still be blank, and indeed it was. Very pleased then, to be able to sign off another FTF at 12:50 pm, as it's been quite a while since the last one.
