A three day trip to the Nation's Capital from Adelaide for a couple of St John Ambulance events and activations. Luckily with a little time as well to explore Canberra and find some (mainly solved puzzles and AL) caches.Today despite the 33C I managed 17 caches in a 2h walk. Four of these 'caches' were stages of this AL and despite not doing the 5th I managed a set of likely coordinates and with a good hint a quick find was made!Tftc and AL Toy Hunters
A home to Canberra to Wagga to home, overnight loop trip. I finished work on Friday afternoon and filled up the Ute drove over to Canberra. Along the way I made one stop off and found an AL which had been on the to-find-list for far too long. KFC for dinner tonight. After my night sleep, I left the motel early and went and got Bfast. I then headed over to Old Parliament House which is near todays first event. I found as many caches as possible before driving over to the parking area for the event. Ill be back to get the rest that I didnt find, at some point. After finding a parking spot, which took forever, I headed over to the event location. I was the first to arrive and the first to leave. It was great to see everyone again and have all talk geo. While leaving the event, most of the rest of the group decided on finding the new cache near the parking area. I signed it first and that was because I was headed to Wagga for another event. I said goodbye and headed off for my drive to Wagga. I arrived just about 20 minutes after the second event started. That was a good trip to Wagga. For lunch I had an 'Outback Parmi'. It was great to see everyone again and have all talk geo. Then I started in the home bound direction which took me along some back roads to a new cache in the middle of nowhere. A FTF on this cache and now time to get home. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs and TFTCs! I completed the AL for this bonus cache a long while ago. To be completely honest, I don't fully remember what it was about. Anyway, I do remember this cache... given I just found. A nice quick find at GZ and now off to the next one.
Grabbing a couple of caches in Barton and Capital hills while waiting for the Gran Sons finish at the Yacht Club. Had the place to myself for a quick find. TFTC
The 'Roundabouts' location has been changed, due to nearby construction. Coordinates are changed to a different light pole with a different find code. Cache on!
Well what an adventure that was to find this. Last time we were in this area we frightened a kangaroo.
Found by The Empire + HOn a warm and sunny day in Canberra, we set out to explore the Menzies Walk around Lake Burley Griffin. The weather was delightful, with the sun casting its golden rays upon us and a gentle breeze providing relief from the warmth. However, with the sun beating down and the temperature rising, we quickly realised the importance of staying hydrated. Armed with plenty of water bottles, we began our walk along the scenic pathway, taking in the stunning views of the lake and surrounding landscape. The shimmering waters of Lake Burley Griffin stretched out before us, inviting us to immerse ourselves in its beauty. As we made our way along the Menzies Walk, the heat became more intense, and the need for water became increasingly apparent. We made frequent stops to quench our thirst, taking sips of cool, refreshing water to keep ourselves hydrated and energised for the journey ahead. Despite the warm weather, the beauty of our surroundings never failed to captivate us. We marvelled at the lush greenery along the shoreline, the colourful blooms that dotted the pathway, and the sight of sailboats gliding gracefully across the water. Thanks for the cache, and the adventure Toy Hunters.-M
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Headed into the city again with the bikes on the back of the geocruiser as it's a publich holiday, making parking a bit easier.Bumped into Ian&Sue-Team Pathfinder, Lachlan1.77, weirdobiker, TeamAstro, Crystalfairy and barefootguru on the hunt today. Then off to the CITO to round out our busy day.TFTC Toy Hunters
Had fun completing these quirky finds. Went for a stroll in the dark to find the bonus cache and narrowly missed being soaked by the pop up sprinklers! *The generic bit*In Canberra for the GeoBash Mega. Enjoying the sights and the variety of caches to be found. Thanks to all organisers, volunteers, sponsors and COs.
Out and about again, headed over to Sydney early in the morning, grabbed a hire car and got some local hides before driving to Canberra for the MEGA. Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Toy Hunters! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 2 and we had an absolute blast. After being up late last night we backed it up again this morning with an early start to make the most of the cooler weather and lack of muggles in the morning cold. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed the large number of virtuals, and caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some of the oldest caches in Australia, some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WAC (WA Crew)
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA6

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During our 2 days in Canberra, we visited Black Mountain, the surrounding parks and the parliament while following the caches and labs. We made some great discoveries and great experiences. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots
After yesterdays very wet weather, I was happy that the rain had passed and I could head out for my morning coffee trip into Civic and then onto a cache to find before doing some shopping and going home. I have completed these LABs from back in October and realised I could park not too far off to walk over to thus cache. It is exactly where described and I was soon signing the log and heading off. Thanks for the cache Toy Hunters45120.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Blarney A#95**Albida**
Such a wet morning! We had begun this Adventure Lab many months ago, but had just not managed to complete it all. With all the rain around this morning, it was not enticing to be outside, however, we had just one waypoint left for this AL, and we were able to find the information we needed when we arrived there without getting out of the car. With that sorted, we crunched the numbers to find the coordinates for GZ for this bonus final. Given it was raining still, we decided to go home and get a few other necessary tasks done. In the late afternoon, there was a break in the rain and some sunshine and we needed to stretch our legs, so we took a walk from Home to this very quiet area. Found quickly, and despite all of that heavy rain, the log is safe and dry. Thanks Toy Hunters Domsky
A fun AL. A cool idea to put out an AL on this basis. Some spots are harder to get to given parking but all collected already some time ago and today finding the bonus, I was lucky with the parking tonight, a nice stroll in a pretty spot. Quick find, nice cache, all in good order. Thank you Toy Hunters for putting the cache out and maintaining it. -()-IVWI-
#4238 I had completed the AL some time ago, so while cycling around the lake this afternoon diverted and made a quick find here.
Thanks Toy Hunters for the AL and the bonus cache.

Such a fun Adventure Lab! Baristayan and I even bought Ken Behrens bumper stickers during the height of the lockdown what a time it was.
Quick find at ground zero just after sunset…nice little spot too amidst the frantic merging of roads. Thanks!

Being Canberra born and bread gave me a good smile on this one, and I'm even old enough to remember the glory development days of the NCDC.
I did end up crossing the roads multiple times to get here. Sometimes it pays to zoom into the map.
A fun AL and bonus. A favorite point for thanks!

Did the AL a while ago, it was fun and creative! Finally grabbed the cache today on an afternoon walk. Thanks for the lab and the cache!
I don't know how I forgot to log this. But it was a fun AL with a quick find at GZ. TFTC Toy Hunters!
#22492. We picked up a couple of share a bike bikes from Pinnacle Apartments and then headed out to lake circuit. This cache was a piece of unfinished business, and was first on the list. Getting to GZ from where we picked up the bikes was the trickiest piece of navigation for the day, and was battling through school drop off traffic while riding on rides made it the most fraught. Still, we got there in the end (via a rather roundabout route) and it was a quick find once there. TFTC and the enjoyable AL.
We had finished the associated ad lab for this bonus on Sunday, but as we were relying on Shanks' pony and public transport, we didn't make it to the final.
This morning we hired some bikes, with the intention of cycling around the lake, so decided to swing by this cache first. Finding our way to GZ was a nightmare for these non Ken Behrens. StreetWalkerNZ did a good job navigating us there - I just followed his lead!
Thanks for the tour and TFTC.

A duck walked up to a lemonade stand
And he said to the man, running the stand
"Hey! (Bum bum bum) Got any grapes?"
The man said
"No we just sell lemonade. But it's cold
And it's fresh
And it's all home-made. Can I get you
Glass?"
The duck said,
"I'll pass".
Then he waddled away.
(Waddle waddle)
'Til the very next day.
(Bum bum bum bum ba-bada-dum)
When the duck walked up to the lemonade stand
And he said to the man running the stand,
"Hey! (Bum bum bum) Got any grapes?
The man said,
"No, like I said yesterday
We just sell lemonade OK?
Why not give it a try?"

He said,
"Come on duck, let's walk to the store.
I'll buy you some grapes
So you won't have to ask anymore."
So they walked to the store
And the man bought some grapes.
He gave one to the duck and the duck said,
"Hmmm..No thanks. But you know what sounds good?
It would make my day.

Completed lab but didn't give the value to E. I had no idea we're this cache is , same thing happened to me yesterday with another lab but had a solution checker was able to work back to get GZ coordinates
Today decided it was a day for Boston .... go for a walk ... perfect caches all mapped out and this Bonus from AL I had to get . I one parked in treasury carpark and did the big walk 5,773 steps got the clues to bonus ... sitting in the shade looking over at the Carrillion ....jumped back into car Boston a bit puffed, and park closer to final, lots of people on walks saw that there was a garden clodse by to went for a wander, then off to gz, safely hidden so signed log 23/4/23 good numbers ...... Thanks for the adventure and bonus cache
I completed the AL quite some time ago and have driven by the GZ many many times. Today I took a different route and went in for the fast find. TFTH
Did the AL last year but didn't get around to going to GZ's suburb until now. Found with alislaur, who I should really introduce to Adventure Labs sometime soon! TFTL and TFTC )
After a morning CITO, with GreyHams we continued on with a few newer Virtuals and north side caches.
We had completed the AL some time before but only managed to stop in to find this bonus today. Nice to finally complete this and I do prefer an AL that has a bonus attached when they can! TFTC Toy Hunters.

Wonderful idea for an AL theme. Had a good time being reminded of Canberra's dreary mediocrity in all its glory.

While doing the lab I had a bit of a chuckle at some graffiti at the bus stop and everything else was pretty straight forward.

Completed the AL a few months ago now and sat on the saved coordinates for the bonus cache since then. I was working from the office today and decided today was too nice a day to sit at my desk for lunch so wandered to GZ. Quick find at GZ for an easy log.
POV - Loved the AL, given how Ken Behren I am these days! And jimmy Rees was a god-send during lock down! Fav point comin’ at ya!
Thanks Toy Hunters for the cache and the fun!

Completed on my time break during the week and today on AL and manage to get to this one on my way home great hide log and placed back where it belong TFTC and TFTAL Toy Hunters
I cycled to Parliament House (finding a multicache in Forrest, on the way); there to start a many stage multicache. That took me from Parliament House, past the anti-vaxxer hanger on protesters (very few in number) and their old vans with big signs plastered on them, to the lake. I logged a virtual cache at the lake. Then I checked ALs too and found this one. A pleasant cycle around the flat Parliamentary Triangle to find all the WPs. I did them in a lucky order, as I finished close to the bonus cache. Then I headed to GZ. Cache and log are good. Headed home after that; only stopping to check a cache of mine on the way. TFTC Toy Hunters.
#16633 - 4:42:00 PM; A pleasant afternoon, so I set off to collect a couple of caches around the Lake. I've had this one on the "To Do" list since I completed the adventure labs a little while ago. Parked over the road and made my way along to GZ for a quick find and sign. TFTC Toy Hunters
The nice weather today was a draw card for an after work adventure. We did the drive around and walk to the AL waypoints collecting the information. The after work fitness crowd was well represented, but didn't stop us from achieving our goal. Thanks Toy Hunters for the placement, it really was a nice way to finish the day.

Found It!
Spotted this after a short search. I think it's safe to say I'm not a Ken Behren. Today was only the 4th time I've ever visited this city!

Despite my views towards Adventure Labs, I can never resist one hidden by Toy Hunters!
One of the very few people who manage to make AL's interesting & give them a little bit of a twist to stand out from multi's or other physical types.
Once again this was a humorous topic and something I can definitely relate too being a "Ken Behren" my entire life. Every waypoint was relatable as well as the video, I can tell he is a Ken Behren as he hit the nail on the head! There's barely a single point I haven't run into at sometime in my life!
Managing to turn this into an AL and pop it into one of the most touristy locations in our city, with a lovely walking tour around this area with plenty to see / do was also a great idea.
GZ was also in an interesting spot, the last cache I found here was MANY years ago and I have never visited again since, so was really cool to be able to explore this spot again!
Thanks Toy Hunters, favourite point from me for something unique / different which you obviously spent a lot of time creating & planning out to be perfect!

Despite plenty of people around today we found ample parking, and enjoyed a lovely walk to each AL waypoints and eventually to GZ. Many thanks for this adventure Toy Hunters.

A nice idea for an AL. I love Jimmy Rees!! And have seen many of his posts. Even almost bought tickets for the show next weekend.
The answers were easy and direct. Working out GZ even more so. A quick walk to GZ and a quick find. Tftc!!!

A fast-finishing second (group) to find today! A very entertaining AL - I recall the day of Ken Behrens well - and no problems with the bonus either. Thanks, Toy Hunters!
