While enjoying a "cat sitting" sojourn in Balaclava, I am taking the opportunity to get out and find caches in areas I don't get to all that often. Today's little outing was a train trip to *the end of the line* at Sandringham. It was quite fitting, I thought, that I go find this cache as my first for the day... nice and easy, which is always a good way to start. Thanks **gmj3191** for putting this cache out.
Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Eleven: Bayside, Frankston, Dandenong.Weather: a bit of everything. Im trying to save the SideTracked caches for a future Melbourne visit when I dont have a car, but since Im this close. I notice that this cache has now had two finds today already, and its still early. An easy find here. Thanks for this cache gmj3191.
I was in Sandringham for the evening and decided to pop out and find this one while we were having breakfast. This is the first SideTracked cache I have found
I had finally ticked a few things off my list so decided I would head south and find a few caches I had been eyeing off. The clouds looked ominous, but surprisingly for once, they cleared once I arrived.A nice quick stop here to add another SideTracked to my find count. I got caught by the same train at two different crossings on the way here!A big thanks goes to gmj3191 for taking the time to add SideTracked - Sandringham, the end of the line. to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! Another late night find tonight after a TCG tournament. With most train goers gone I had the whole area to myself, looking by torchlight I soon spotted a little treasure, with a little bit of a reach I soon had it in hand..... until I didn't whoops I dropped it, searching for the cache again I soon spotted it, signed and returned it back to where it was meant to be. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure.
Got a bit dirty for this one, fun public find!- @sheribubble (I have a geocaching series on Instagram)
Travelling between two TDOC23 caches I decided to get sidetracked here to complete the set along this line. We intended to find this when we were in the area a couple of weeks ago, but it didnt happen then. Today we were here again with a bit of time to spare. We managed to get a park very close to GZ. A quick find ensued thanks to the hint.
Find 3282Managed a park close by and strolled over to GZ.Geowife spotted straight away.Log signed and all back safe again.thanks gmj3191
So. A last minute trip to Melbourne to see the stepson goal umpire his 200th AFL game at the MCG tomorrow. Was hoping to do lots of LGAs but the family wouldnt set me free. Sea eagle wanted to see the area along this coast and being on a train this was a target. We then shared platter lunch at the Sandy. What to look forward to after 2 megas within 4 weeks of each other, a BLOCK PARTY in Sydney, Australia Day 2025. https://coord.info/GCACHF8Gotta love a smiley face on the map. Thankyou for placing and maintaining it.
Out and about after a gym session. Did some maintenance on a few caches. Time to head down and do this one. Almost had it and a train came by that stopped the traffic and held up pedestrians so have to wait until the intersection was quiet again. All good. Signed and sealed. Thanks gmj3191.
First SideTracked in a while. With hint, a rather easy find on our afternoon walk around Sandringham. TFTC!
Off to the beach but wanted a few caches. This seemed to fit the bill, and brings my Sidetracked tally up to about 6 surely there cant be many left? Tftc
Ive tried this one before and failed! Happy to turn the frown upside down! TFTC
Was not expecting so many muggles at this time of night and nearly got sprung on several occasions. Managed to sign and get back safely though. Tftc
Find number 12838 at 11:33:26am on Monday the 22 January 2024Out for a journey today chasing SideTracked geocaches over towards the bay, the Monty was my starting point. My last geocache search ended in a sad face so I excited to quickly convert this one to a smilie face **Thanks for placing this cache gmj3191**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. A list of the geocaches can be found [here](https://coord.info/BM9GWJ5). Trying to catch up some logs from the past few months. Unfortunately I can't recall the date I found this as I did not log it at the time. I believe it was in January and it was a warm day and I still had a loan car which I returned at the end of Jan. Certainly some muggles about around the crossing and then finding a break in the muggle traffic while pretending to wait to cross. Have come to expect these containers from this CO. Oh, now I remember replacing the top back on the cache can sometimes be fiddly on these caches and it took several tries to get it lined up in the right grooves. Thanks to the CO.
It's rather neat seeing rather quaint but solid reminders of times gone by. AND today...time for many things and one is the SOLSTICE souvenir rush. One is for memories of time near the beach and wistful dreams too. And one is for "casheering" as my dear mum Mollie would say. After fish'n'chips at Sandy's shop just up the road, taking a slow way home and enjoying the setting sun and chance to wander. Cache located in where directed and signed with no muggling issues. Thanks gmj3191 for placing the cache.
#1798I had barely got out of the car for this and The Welder had the cache in hand! We might not have cached much in recent months, but he has come back with a flash! Thanks for the cache
A damp evening on the weekend is a perfect time to do this cache without muggle interference. You can always count on gmj3191 to supply a decent sized cache within the limitations of the environment - and this was no different. Its amazing how in such an urbanised location, a pocket of wilderness can still be found.Signed in the car while a train tooted past, and returned just before protective services showed up, lol. Yes, Id rather not have to explain our investigations hereThanks so much, gmj3191.
De cache in ..... had ik niet gevonden. Dan maar eens hier proberen. Ik moest wel even wachten voor dat ik kon gaan zoeken, het poortje ging dicht want er kwam een metro aangereden. Duidelijke hint, mooie container. Om 10u51 kon ik mijn log noteren. TFTC. (Translation later.)
Nice quick and easy find on a pleasant afternoon stroll around the area. Almost muggled out but managed to get it back in place without having a problem. TFTC
Usually I think about the end of the line, being an awful last ditched, forgotten country town that no one would ever want to go too. However Sandringham is beautiful! Thanks for a quick lunch time trip to fill in my calendar gap.
Cache is definitely there. Too many muggles in the vicinity to retrieve the cache sadly. Next time!
We love the sidetracked caches that keep popping up. This one was a quick find today. Thanks gmj3191
Found this today on our Saturday Afternoon South West to the Bay Afternoon. Got to my third definition of "behind" before I spotted the cache. People came at me from all directions whilst I was unaware here. Our first cache find here, though we have done one 150m north and another 160m south of this spot previously. Thanks from D B-A
Quickly found. It was difficult to screw the lid back on - I think the thread has been worn. Thanks for adding to the Sidetracked series.
Came out today to move on some TBs I discovered in a drawer, oops! Most caches too small to hold anything, managed to drop one in this cache. Thanks for the hide.
Although this was primarily a trip to collect solved puzzles we did not want to leave any others that were close so this one was on the list.
Parking was not easy so a bit of a walk was had to get to GZ. Once there we had a bit of a search before decoding the clue because we felt a bit exposed.
Once that was done the cache was in hand very soon after and our name has been added to the log.
These are a fair sized container but boy do they hide well.
Again our thanks gmj3191 for another in this ever growing series.

Quick find, but took some time to retrieve a d place back due to muggle activity. TFTC
It was all quiet here on a Saturday lunchtime, and after a quick look I spotted what I was after. I like these containers, they are so suitable to a location like this. I remember when the train overshot not just the platform but the impacted wall too.
Thanks to gmj3191 for placing this cache.
Thanks to gmj3191 for placing this cache.
Found it easily but very high muggle zone so had to wait to retrieve and then for train to pass to return. Tftc
A super quick find and a super quick sign due to muggles. The good sized cache certainly helped. Thanks gmj3191 for placing the cache. I am enjoying the SideTracked series.
A morning walk down the beach, this was on our way. It’s the second day introducing my friend to caching and he’s loving it!
That photo of the train crash - - I did not know that happened, even though I’ve lived in Cheltenham most of my life??

I like grabbing these sidetracked caches and will pick up as many as possible as I walk about. GZ for this cache was a little exposed and a little dirty, but that's sort of the purpose of these, so it gets a pass. I love this style of cache. The only problem was that it took too long for me to screw it back together. I'm unsure what people thought I was doing, but I'm certain they were too busy driving along to notice. Thanks for adding this one here!
Getting a start on the June challenge to cache for 20 days. Geohusband is presently off work and this cache was nominated as the cache to find for the day. TFTC
Out SideTracking today locally to add a few more to the small number already done. This is a very typical GMJ3191 container, found easily. The previous finder didn't screw it on properly and it virtually came apart in my hands. Like all these containers, it takes a bit of patience to get it mated correctly.
My thanks to gmj3191 for the cache.

Today we decided to get sidetracked with ilook4geo and concentrate on some of the many sidetracked caches available on the eastern side of the city and further out. It rained of course, but that did not hinder our plan too much. This was a nice quick and easy find and the log soon had two more names added to it. Thanks go to gmj3191 for adding to the sidetracked series by placing this cache.
Came along with goingplaces2 to gather some more sidetracked caches for the collection. We had a good day, though wet, with both names being added to each log found. All was good here. TFTC.
On the hunt for some more SideTracked caches and counties in Australia. After the Grand Prix I have the day to wander in Melbourne so hope to grab one more county.
Thanks gmj3191 and a favourite for the SideTracked cache.

This evening's plan was to go geocaching in the Sandringham area. For some challenges, I needed a non-traditional, a
Mystery and a Multicache for today. I was aiming to halve the number of caches that I needed for my next milestone planned for the Mega. Unfortunately the traffic, my inability to see an obvious geocache and the rain was a big hamper to my plans.
Very busy area here, especially with people on the way to the footy. I was able to very quickly find it, but it took a good 5 minutes before the place was free enough to grab it.
Thanks for the cache GMJ 3191

I was lucky enough to have a morning off work today, so as I was cruising in, I made a quick stop to pick up this SideTracked cache.
It was a bit drizzly, but fortunately I managed to make a quick find.
Thanks gmj3191 for adding to the series.
I am a big SideTracked fan.

This being my local train line, and my stop you'd think I'd have signed it earlier! When it was published I was stuck at work, but I encouraged my geo-PIC to GO! GO! GO! And go she did, claiming the FTF.
Fast forward to today, we were out early so I finally decided to drop by and sign the log. Needed to approach from the correct angle, but a great hide and well-camoflauged.
Thanks gmj3191 for the hide and for expanding the ever-growing SideTracked series. Cache on!
**The cache:** TNLN Signed log Let Them Eat Cache or LTEC as space would allow. Cache in excellent condition.

I was dropped off at a station up the line after a trip to Ballarat, and had plenty of time before I was expected at home, so this was the perfect opportunity to get, well, sidetracked.
A nice quick find, following the locals towards the car park, trying not to look too suss. Actually, nobody took any notice, but that's a much more boring story.
(Getting another SideTracked find is definitely not boring... my 58th so far)
Thanks, gmj3191.

We didn’t get SideTracked from finding this cache and were lucky we came at the time we did. Pretty quiet, except for a couple of workman far enough away from GZ not to cause us any dramas.
I think this is only the second SideTracked cache we have found. Cheers gmj3191.

TFTC! Really well hidden! Camouflaged super well! Someone asked what we were doing! No surprise!
TFTC, container was sticky, used hand sanitizer after putting cache back in hiding spot. Lots of muggles in the area so had to search in quick bursts.
It's sticky! Found without too much trouble, getting it back trickier as train came in and muggles arrived. Tftc!
Not very good at these hides so used the hint. Container is sticky. Was a bit tricky to get the lid back on but found the groove in the end. TFTC

Replaced o-ring, and worked on thread to settle it down as it was badly cross threaded by someone.

I was returning home from an event in St. Kilda but was needing a couple more finds so I took the chance to stop by this one.
This was a very quiet area today with only a few cars in the car park so I was able to park right next to GZ,
it wasn’t long after that the log was signed and I was on my way.

#2070 DOwn at Sandy to watch the Sunset and walk the dog. With the first of those two tasks completed we detoured en-route to the car to give the dog good value for money. Got to GZ and after a bit of contorting had the cache in hand. TNLNSL. TFTC gmj3191.

Out and about with Rebel Acts putting some smiles on the map. Early start to the day but definitely worth it to tick off a few more caches.
Cheers for the cache

Out on another of our Sunday caching adventures, we had an early start chasing a few Side Tracked caches all over the place before heading to the Year of the hide 2022 event, after that we concentrated on some Bayside caches.
This is one of the caches found today.
Thanks gmj3191 for the cache.

SideTracked find 117.
I am visiting Melbourne to find as many of the SideTracked caches that have been 'breeding' in Melbourne, that I can. This was the seventh for today. I caught the train out from the CBD where I am staying. (Near a station, of course.) First time on Melbourne trains. I now have my myki card, so have card, will travel .
Quick find. I had a little delay while I tried to screw this closed, but done, I rushed back to the station and reboarded the same train I had arrived on, for the return journey back to the city. Cache and log are good, and nice it wasn't another micro. TFTC gmj3191.

Great to see another sidetracked pop up on this line. Parked our little car here & claimed another .

Out and about with Jetsons23 on caching adventures in the Bayside area. The sun was out for us today and thankfully no more sign of rain.
I found my first SideTracked Series of caches in London in June this year. So good to see them pop up here. A quick find was made here.
Thank you for the cache here gmj3191

We decided to visit Sandringham for our traditional Sunday lunch date. I was very much in favor of this idea as there were a couple of caches to be found close by. I found the cache easily.
We found SideTracked -Sandringham, the end of the line. while out and about on a glorious spring day.
A very quick find of a familiar container on what we thought would be a quiet day for muggles. Unfortunately we had to time our retrieval and signing duties carefully as they kept popping up regularly
Thanks gmj3191 for hiding this cache so that we could come and enjoy ourselves

After dropping off our grandkids at school/kinder today we have time for a few caches. The location around GZ was quite busy - trains, cars sitting with the boom gates down and pedestrians. So timing was a bit of an issue. Fortunately we found the cache quickly and we were able to sign the log and move on. Thanks to gmj3191 for the cache.
We parked the car nearby and got out to walk to GZ. Not sure who got the biggest surprise? The railway worker sitting between some infrastructure trying to keep out of the wind or us when we came upon him. Nice quick find. Thanks for the cache.
On a midnight adventure with Geoturtle37, we decided to add some trads to the tally.
A worker sitting on the side of the tracks having his dinner. What a job! Thankfully we were able to retrieve the cache out of sight.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, gmj3191

Thought I'd grab this today as I grabbed another cache in Sydney. One more double state cache grabs to the stats. Easy find.
I went for a short drive today starting on the adventure lab for the RSLs and stopped at each trad that I found along the way and this was one of them.
Car park was surprisingly busy but I got a spot quite close. Had to wait out a few muggles coming from multiple directions but thanks to the hint it made the find nice and quick.
Thanks gmj3191 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
