Thanks TwigNZ for this cache at a Riverside Retreat I was unaware of... I stopped here before tackling the forest trails and sand-dunes on my bike, and it was a very peaceful spot. This cool cache was in good condition although it might be missing one half of it's attractive attribute. Replaced as found. TNLNSL TFTC
I spent a pleasant couple of hours enjoying the sunshine at the beach today. Some rather interesting slugs have made the cache home. TFTC
Working in Levin. Had finished a bit earlier today so thought would do some caching.Had to walk the last couple of hundred meters as the gate was closed. Found GZ and loved the camo a lot of work had gone into this so a fav point added.TFTC
Out looking for geocaches in this area with woolwood9 today. *Thanks for the reason to visit this location and for the cache.*Very nice find for us here - good hide. SL *tm/ww NZ*
Headed out to the beach with tmann421 to pick up a few of the newer caches.Nice quick find hereLog signed tm/ww NZTHTC
The road past Riverside Retreat was busy today, with two tractors entering as we arrived, and a third as we were leaving. The cache was a quick easy find. TFTC
**19,729**A nice easy cache find after an enjoyable walk to GZ. Just collecting up a few more caches before we head towards home. TFTC
Day 2 of our stay at this lovely quiet beach town and BFG has come up with bike in tow to come tackle these new & old caches along here with us. This was my first cache of the day and was probably my quickest find of the day too! Thanks for placing TwigNZ
Team one is waiting its turn at the next stage of the fantastic watcache event this afternoon. We were less than 40m from the cache, as I was the only one that didn't have it, two of us snuck away to quickly locate this and get back to the team for what ever watcache has install for us next. All good here and a nice wee hiding spot. TFTC TwigNZ.
Day two of the geocaching weekend, and with the mornings event done and dusted, matagouri and I decided to dust the bikes off and head into the North forest, picking up any caches we could find. This was our first stop, and a nice straight forward find (unlike many today). Thanks for putting this here
SkyCraneKid, EtherMiss, and I are attending Watcache's camping weekend at Waitrere Beach, and it would be rude to leave green dot this close to the event location! We teamed up with Stardust718+kids for a few finds before this morning's event. This was a nicely camo'ed hide on our way to Sandy's fez. Thanks!
Having spotted it during the event of challenges earlier in the day, rattll and I returned on bikes and found this cache before heading into the forest. All good in the container. Tftc!
In Waitarere for a fun caching weekend with events. One of the events brought us out this way, so I popped in and quickly located the cache. Nice hide, hidden in a way that geocachers would recognise. Thanks for the cache, TwigNZ.
Hubby and I are attending Watcache Waitarere Beach event so decided to in the little bit of downtime check out a couple of caches we hadnt yet found. Nice & easy tree cache this one. Thanks TwigNZ for bringing us here.
Having set up my sleeping place and unpacked me and Phronimos headed out for a couple of nearby finds, This nearby first was a nice and easy find and some good camo in play too, thanks twignz. It's been a few years since I've had a multi-day, event-centred Geo-experience - the Wellington MEGA would have been it, so a long time between drinks (as if). The last few iterations locally haven't fitted in with our family plans so have been shelved but mrs c's trip North this week is timely and enables me to head to Waitarere Beach for watcache's Geo-Jamboree (after all, it was centred on the Scout Hall!) A fun weekend of events, nearby unfound caches, and a trickled release of new ones too, acquaintances renewed and established and some (mostly) good weather. Much kudos to the CO,and his family, for their efforts over this last wee while, recognizing that this doesn't happen without dedication and preparation. After 3 days of caching, around 35 kms walked and 30-something finds I left around midday after some {FTF} chasing, and then got my last D/T combo for a third trip around the grid, with Etherlord and Ethermiss for company.Awesome weekend, thanks to all involved.
This was our favorite find of the afternoon. LOVE the hiding spot! Sadly we forgot a pen. Found by M-R family
Trouve ! / Found it ! 4141me cache trouve.Merci TwigNZ pour la cache 4141th cache found.Thank you TwigNZ for the cache
In the forest today with the bikes and picking up the odd geocache or two ,this was a very quick find here.
Thanks for the placement and the smiley.

Beautiful fine, warm day, so decided to visit the site after it being subject to a long shut down during logging in the forest. Just a check-up visit really. Cleaned out several large native slugs and lots of leaf detritus from the GC's clever hiding place, then knocked out a bunch more slugs and an enormous community of wood lice which had set up home inside the GC's 'magnetic round-house'. The log book is still clean and dry. Well worth a visit, so roll on summer!
I have been advised that logging operations have ceased in this area, so access should be all well and fine now.
I have been advised that the Forestry Manager here has requested all existing caches in North Forest should be temporarily disabled whilst forestry work is undertaken, for the sake of Health and Safety.
These people are sympathetic to geocaching, so please respect their request. Once the all clear has been given then I will enable this cache again. I will be removing it from GZ for the duration, so visiting this cache is a waste of time and any 'found' logs during this time will be deleted.
Thank you for your undertsanding.

Found on my way to Levin after doing some mint tin maintenance. Thanks TwigNZ for the cache.
Here to do the waitarere 10km walk and this was almost right at the start, headed over to look before people lined up, quick find cache all in good order, thanks for the placement, now for the 10km
Cache has had some work to improve the magnet aspect, plus the log has been dried out and put back in a baggie.
Hopefully people will leave the cache as they find it!

After receiving a message from a previous finder (thank you Paul) I paid a visit to check up on this cache.
Unfortunately it has suffered from an adhesive failure (I'll take the blame for that one) and the fact that someone has removed/discarded the baggie that the log was in.
So I have removed the cache for maintenance and will replace it in 2 week's time.

Called here on a day trip up the Coast to find a few caches. A short pleasant walk and a very quick find in the first place checked. Signed log, TFTC.
Neat little cache. Spotted almost immediately, but geo-eyes are required to know what it is. TFTC.
Nice hide, avoided the big spider living with the cache, and signed it accompanied by fantails and kingfishers
Wonderful Christmas Day stroll. Had visited this GZ many times during winter, without GPS, instead relying on memory, and unsurprisingly met with no success. This time, with GPS in hand, it pointed towards a spot 9 m away ... just as my partner-in-crime found it exactly 9 m away. I looked on in amazement as again I was so close but not close enough. Going to have trouble living this one down, meanwhile congrats to TwigNZ on a clever hide. I'd looked at that very spot in the past but due to my lamentable lack of imagination failed to 'twig'.
9.35am Spent some time in the wrong area and then decided another spot was a possibility. And bingo it was soon in hand.
Thank you, David
Thank you, David
Didn't have time to look for it after the Ready set Go event so decided to come to Waitarere beach this afternoon. A very easy find as container was lying on the ground. Have left it where I think it should have been. Thanks for placing the cache
Visited GZ to check up on this one after all the recent finds.
I was pleasantly surprised to find it exactly as it should be.

I was out in waiterere and needed to go fix up a few caches so after my nan cooked us up nice roast pork I decided it was time to go fix the caches after fixing them I decided to see if there were any new caches out in waitaerere. I arrived at the Gz and noticed a log out of place so I found the cache and signed the log
{FTF} jointly with attendees from CO's event held earlier in the day. Was on the "right" side of the stream and watched Barefootguru triumphantly hold up the cleverly camo'd prize. A fav point given. TFTC
Another clever tree (Not GL but no climb necessary) hide. Thanks for putting out these caches for joint {FTF}.
Joint FTF. A great little place to visit. So peaceful. Kia ora rawa atu for the cache TwigNZ.

Joint (ftf) after its release at today's event ably organized by twignz. A nice break from writing assignments. Attended with Junior. Thanks Twig.
It was great to join forces with haydn.seek and edvern today for a geocaching trip to celebrate the first day of daylight saving at the "On your marks, get set, GO! 4" (GC9X5WC) event in Levin.
Naturally there were various caches to be checked out along the way to and fro.
As we headed homeward we deviated to Waiterere for a final little bit of geocaching.
First we stopped for this, the last of the event caches. Walking in to GZ brought back memories of many times orienteering in these forests along the west coast.
The cache was very quickly located at this aptly named riverside retreat. It was another nicely prepared container. TFTC TwigNZ and also the {FTF} opportunity for us event attendees.

A lovely ? retreat here although i feel it would be rather damp even in summer ! it was well constructed and was soon in hand . I took a photo of the nearby river which i will log later , This was a joint {FTF} with those who attended the event in Levin .
Thank you for this cache I took a TB from here and i will move it along over the next week . I left nothing .

25 September 2022 14:29. Joint FTF. The last of the new ones for today. Met up with a number of the others here, and began the search. I was just realising that I should go back to the side I first thought of, when BFG called out "found it!". TFTC TwigNZ for placing this cache, number 11744 for me.
After attending TwigNZ’s ‘Ready, Set, Go’ event myself, NZ_B, and JustlookingOO (with nephew J) joined forces to hunt out the caches released as part of the event. We headed to this one first being the furthest - a joint {FTF}!
Heading towards GZ we were caught up by another group, The Seagnoid, GSEL, Infoferret and Barefootguru, and together we all made our way the last few metres. We split and looked on both sides of the river, but it was BFG who made the find.
A quick sign from all and we were on our way again.
Thanks for releasing these new caches TwigNZ.

Another {FTF} joint with several others. Thankfully no gumboots required today in this peaceful area. Talla64 and I joined forces with taybee nz and Mr-Mcgoo for this geocaching trip to celebrate the first day of daylight saving at TwigNZ's "On your marks, get set, GO! 4" event in Levin. taybee nz found this one quite quickly - a very nice hide. Thanks for putting out these new caches TwigNZ. Very much appreciated. We are certainly enjoying the day.
My day started out (as it often does in the weekends) in Wanganui with family. Once those responsibilities were taken care of, my geocaching responsibilities came out to play. My days travels took me to: Waitarere (I only got a little bit lost), Levin (for an event, and some newly published caches), back to Waitarere (for the one I missed because I didn't know it was there), and then all the way over to Gisborne (four months is long enough for a cache to wait to be found). It has been an excellent day of finding caches, and this was one of them.
A joint [FTF] as part of the Levin event today, this was another excellent hide (no wonder I missed it earlier, before I knew it existed). Fortunately, when I arrived there were a number of cachers already there signing the log, so I just joined the line.
Many thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.

The hoard headed out after a rather excellent event celebrating the start of daylight saving time and another hour to find caches after work. Turned up here and after some initial confusion looking on the right side of the stream we switched to the wrong side and naturally didn't find the cache. Okay, back to the other side for considerably more success. Nicely hidden cache.and we all signed the empty logbook for the [FTF]. Our particular carload signed as BIGS to save space - Barefootguru, Infoferret, GSEL and the Seagnoid.
{FTF Jointly} after attending TwigNZ event at the new venue. A nice hide which was found quite quickly by TaybeNZ while Flowerydaze and MrMagoo were just getting set to join the search. TFTC TwigNZ a very enjoyable day as always.
#11,742. Joint {FTF} and FDF. After attending an event hosted by the CO, the cars hit the road at 2pm to go in search of four newly published caches. This was one of them. I was in BFG's brand new electric car with Infoferret and the Seagnoid. We created a tag name for the day of team BIGS for signing the logsheets. By the time we arrived there was a hoard of cachers looking on one side and they had given up there and said it was on the other side of the pond. So over we went but there was nothing to be found over there. BFG had doubled back and soon called out found it much to the blushes of those who had already scoured that area. A nice camo cache in the style you find a lot on the European forest trails. Thanks TwigNZ for hiding it here.
#13,122. Joint {FTF} and first day find. A good short walk in Waitārere, after attending the On your marks, get set, GO! 4 event. Joined forces with edvern, geodatum and haydn.seek for the search. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. Good hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside.
Dropped off Surf Life Saving Jandal TB (which was promptly grabbed by haydn.seek)
Took nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

While the rest of the group concentrated on the other side of the ditch, I made a quick find on my side :] Nice hide TwigNZ! We initialled as
(# 7296) Joint {FTF}. Up to Levin for TwigNZ's event. He kindly published 4 new caches on the day for those who attended. A quick find after traveling to Waitarere. Thanks for bringing me here And thanks to Tala64 who kingly drove a couple of us to the new caches.
