Logs
After having been in Wagga all morning completing various job, I decided on going for a drive around the country side collecting some of the new caches which has popped up over the past few months. I started by heading south and finding a couple along the way which included a Sidetracked cache before heading north along the Hume Hwy. The last time that I remember being along this part of the Hwy was long before I started Geocaching. So I made sure that I found everything along the way. I arrived in Gundagai and found a few newer caches around the area before heading home. It was a great drive and I hope to do another trip very soon. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTCs! After getting a drink from a nearby servo, I headed over to this cache. Once at the WP, I realized that I have visited this spot before for another cache years ago. The sign is much more readable today then last time. I quickly solved GZ and headed off for the shortish walk over there. After about a 5 minute search, I found the cache nicely hidden away. Once signing dutes were complete, I headed back to the ute. Thanks for bringing me back here and now off to the next one.
Found with Captboomerang12 on our way home after a weekend of camping at Lake Hume. We did make hard work of this one. We thought we had a reasonable set of coords and went for an unsuccessful search. We then went and had some lunch, rechecked our calcs ( originally incorrect) and read a few of the previous logs. On our return, it was spotted within minutes. TFTC
Staying in the nearby caravan park. Walked up to the pumps to get the required information, back to the van to do the calculations in the comfort of the caravan, then walked back to ground zero. Taking hints from previous logs went under, but I couldn't work out exactly where to look. Couldn't even find any wasps. So another sad face for me.
Thanks to Turtle284 for this multi.Arrived at the GZ area and struggled with this hide.A PAF gave us an improved perspective and we found it.Well done.
Found our way to the posted coordinates and the pumps where we managed to get the substitutions correct first time. Doesn't happen that often! At GZ however we took quite some time. We were in the correct place but missed it on the first scan of the area. Luckily spotted it on the second look and managed to sign. A challenging hide.Moving day today as we headed to Bowning, picking up a few caches as we traveled in Gundagai and surrounds and then a quick visit to the Dog On The Tuckerbox. A short stop in Jugiong for a Lab and regrettably a DNF on a D1. (We hope it wasn't there!)After arriving in Bowning we left our caravan after lunch then headed out to find a variety of caches in the area we had missed last visit or were new. A couple of letterboxes to add to the interest and some challenge caches we now need to check to see if we qualify. Even managed to rectify a DNF or two.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Turtle284.**SKI Pair****
Heading back down the highway for home after a 2 week getaway we called into Gundagai to complete 2 multis and pick up a solved puzzle, not to mention enjoying lunch at one of the fast food restaurants. We almost passed by this one due to the 2 DNF's but always liking a challenge we went ahead collecting the information and then trying our luck at GZ. Stepping up as the hint suggests we didn't find it straight away but once we let our GPS settle we tried another spot and the male Triton's hands discovered the well hidden micro, tethered safely where no muggle would find it.Thanks Turtle284 for the historic multi placement.
We were in Canberra for the Mega, finding, meeting and greeting, celebrating and dining with like minded people. On the trip back to Vic and we made a few more finds.I've been a bit slack but today spending an overcast day of the JLWE catching up with some logging.TFTC SL TB's visited
Making our way home to Victoria from the GeoBash in Canberra and stopped to break the journey here in Gundagai. Took us a while to work our the sums, the afternoon was hot and we were tired, which may have all contributed to our DNF here. We feel we were in the correct GZ location, but no cigar for us today. one to try on our next visit. Thanks for the information about the Water Works Turtle284.
Arrived in Gundagai mid afternoon and set up camp at Morley Creek just outside town. After a coffee we went out to find some caches. 1 DNF and 3 finds. Not bad. No luck for us here today. Not saying it is not there, just that we could not locate it.
Catching up on old logs again, Thanks for the cache took quite abit of searching around to finally work out where it was located. Got some hits from other logs thankfully, Signed the log and returned back to where it was found. Thanks heaps for the hide!.
Found on the way to Albury before heading to the Ballarat GeoTour tomorrow. Fun solve at WP1 and then an even more fun retrieval at GZ. Lovely locations and a great multi, TFTC!
Fuel stop and a chance to stretch the legs. Done the calculations and soon had the find. TFTC
Found this one today with little fuss. The fact that I was in company with a previous finder had nothing to do with it, much!
Anyway thanks for this informative multi.

A nice multi in an interesting area with a walk to GZ. A bit of fun retrieving the cache. TFTC Turtle284
Traveling north on a very foggy day. Staying at Jugiong for the night.
Not a lot of caches to do along this section of the highway.
History of utilities is always interesting, as we often just take them for granted.
Collected my numbers and did my calculations.
Not sure of the altitude at GZ, but the clue mentioned up, so under I went.
Another hint was seen by some muddy footprints - the CO doing a maintenance check?
Grabbed the cache with no TOTT needed.
Thanks, Robmc.

With some recent fail to finds I dropped by to check on the cache and it is still intact and ready to be found. Happy hunting!
After a trip up The Hume, mostly in heavy rain, the cache name Water Works seemed appropriate! Numbers in order, we visited GZ, unfortunately we had no luck with our search, realising the tool which would have really helped was left at home. Maybe next time!
12255 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1145. Used our TOTT to get to this hide after asking a friend if we were in the right place. Thank goodness the paper Wasps have moved on so that was one worry we did not need. SL Tnx Turtle284 .
TFTC,
On our way to the Rutherglen MEGA. Spent rhe night here and took some time to visit this site and make the find.
Visited trackables.

We were staying 47 meters from the posted coords, had to do this one before leaving Gundagai. Got the required numbers, then off to GZ saw the hornets, left them alone, not easy. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO
Found by Mary and David at 15:50. This took us ages. No chance for M to assist, still in her moon boot. Great river views, and some fascinating fact in the cache description. Finally, after 20 minutes, resorted to a PAF, then D made the retrieval with some difficulty. The hornets are still active. Our thanks to Turtle284.
Found at 3:32 PM GAFF1.
After working out the co-ords, we were not sure if we were correct as when we looked down it looked unapproachable! Anyway - headed on down in any case and then a familiar type of hiding spot appeared Started to reach up in the very first spot that looked likely and oh my gosh - an active hornets nest was just about going to be disturbed and you know what happened the last time that happened [B)]
Moved over to another location and just when I thought that it was a hopeless task - there it was
Thanks Turtle284.

Last day of a midweek Victoria trip. Great caching and lots of driving. Found superb camping spots along the Murray. Detouring via Wagga Wagga on the way home.

Found and signed AB&G as part of the Rutherglen Invasion Group. Thanks for the cache and the adventure.
We planned to get down to Rutherglen to try and collect all the caches in the area before the mega so we could relax a little more as Mega’s always seem to be a little hectic. With the Canberra day long weekend on the horizon a plan was hatched, and accommodation was found. Our attack group ended up consisting of Rapidlywild, DARKSIDEDAN, Sui_001and only half of the FurfacesLL team as the other member is broken, seems we are taking turns. We ended up collecting all the trails we had intended to do and many others in varying shapes and sizes and types.
Stopping for a bite to eat close by, we decided to give these new multi’s a crack. Worked out where we needed to be and it took a little bit of a search here before coming up with the goods. Log was signed as AB’s+G’s (Adventure Boys and Girls) which is what we used for the long weekend.
Thanks for the hide and multi Turtle284 and thanks for a fun filled weekend AB’s+G’s.

Plans were put in place for a Rutherglen attack over the Canberra day long weekend with the FurfacesLL, DSD and Sui. We spent 4 days away from home and collected a number of caches of various varieties.
Another interesting old piece of Gundagai's history. No issues working out GZ for this one. This one took a little while to locate however we found it eventually, blends in well. Signed as AB+G (Adventure Boys and Girls) which is what we used across the trip.
Thanks for bringing us back into Gundagai Turtle284

29,248. Found with albida33 during our journey south for an epic caching run around the Ballarat and Rutherglen regions between Christmas and New Years Eve 2022.
With a main aim of the Ballarat GeoTour, the Rutherglen Easter Series, Brolga Bill's Bike Trail (BBBT), and Brolga Bill's Puzzles (BBP), a group of us headed down today for what was to be an awesome caching week. albida33 and I stopped here for a break and this cache. With GZ calculated it was a quick and fun find once there. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then we continued south.
Thanks Turtle284 !!

After a great Christmas break it was time to head back into town and get ready for the next big adventure. It did not take long to move my stuff into the car and get the van parked up safely. The big journey to Ballarat took all afternoon and we stopped only for food and fuel, except one cache in Gundagai that I failed to locate on my last visit. It seems I was one spot short of the right one ands today it came to hand quickly. Fitzy_1965 & I were then back on the road for the remaining part of the journey to Ballarat and lots of caching over the next few days.
Thanks for the cache Turtle284

Turtle284, another legend! Always know a good cache will be coming when I see the name!
After finding DeadThief's multi nearby, I knew I had to grab this one as well!
I wasn't disappointed either, another historic spot in Goulburn, and this time one I did not know about! Gotta love visiting new places, especially when they are this interesting. Well done for putting this on the map.
Enjoyed using the words / book cipher in the aircon of my car, before heading off to GZ.
Yet again another fantastic spot for GZ as well! Extra special when a multi-cache has an interesting WP1 + GZ, as often it is only one of the other!
A favourite point from me, just a perfect cache once again, well done! High quality hide as well!
Thanks for the fun

I found a nearby parking and walked over to the old pumps. The necessary information was quickly gathered and the maths were completed in the nearby shade. Finding the container took a little longer than expected, but persistance paid off and was soon in hand. TFTC!

Freddo found the cache after we did the maths in the car.
We headed into the flooded eastern states for a week of geocaching fun. The mission was Frying Pan. The only December 2000 placed cache remaining in Australia. All other choices for this month are international. Traveling in style and comfort we selected the next cache on merit and forward movement. Some back tracking was required in the wettest areas. Wildlife seen included a lyre bird, king parrot and a single leech. Mozzies were a pest. Caches were found and signed. Wet logs were wet. Water does that. Numerous TOTTs were employed.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to NSW and back with Freddo.
Our main target was ‘Frying Pan’ in the Chichester State Forest, near Barrington Tops north of Newcastle.
We allowed ourselves a week to travel there and back, taking a circuitous route through Victoria and NSW, camping each night and finding a range of caches of interest along the way.
Rains over the past few months meant a few detours along the way and plenty of water about, restricting access to some caches and camping areas. Many of the roads were quite chopped up with potholes and the mosquitoes were plentiful! But we had a good run with the weather, with just the odd shower, but mostly fine, warm and overcast.

An interesting location for a multi. After getting the info we drove off to work out the co-ordinates. Some calculations later we had a GZ that looked highly promising. Wow, spot on co-ordinates in the first place we chose to search. TFTC Turtle284.
*FTF* with Tankengine, Youban, Kittykatch and Joolay.
We came through a couple of days ago and the roads were all closed due to flooding. But today the rain has gone and the rivers dropped and the roads were reopened.
Nice quick and easy. Plenty of parking on a Sunday and then at GZ. The pumps are a very cool part of the history here and deserving of a good cache. At GZ… Quick find for the tallest member of the gang. Signed and returned then headed back to the cars. Tftc!!!

Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 Kittykatch Joolay and youban! - Nice find here! Thanks Turtle284!
Wahoo [FTF] on the way back to Canberra from Bonnie Doon. Water has gone right down but still flowing strongly.
Wonderful to be visiting the area with Dty73, Youban, Tankengine and Kittykatch. The rally was canceled because of the floods but already had the accommodation booked and paid for so came anyway. Glad the rain has stopped and the sun is out.
Thanks for getting me out and about Turtle284
