I found this cache on my Mega Walk #24 - a 33,000 step through Laverton to Truganina Park to Skeleton Creek and back to Laverton. My last geocaching walk to Laverton, I by-passed these caches as it was way too late but today, they were at the start of my list. Good to get off to a good start here. Thanks from D B-A

Its COTY noms day! Teamed up with Geoturtle37 and TeamSmokeyBear to check out some caches on this side of town. If I didn't have back & shoulder injuries, I would have loved to give the flying fox a go... Next time!PS... Logbook is also nearly full here. Only 1 empty spot left. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, HoodedHooligans ~~

16:11, 14 March, 2024. 2384.On my way home from the dentist after having a couple of fillings I thought Id try for a quick find at SideTracked - Aircraft, which was sort of on the way home. After parking as close as I thought was safe (not just legal) and walking about 1/4 of a kilometre to GZ I realised today was not going to be the day I found that particular cache. Thanks to a muggle who seemed to have taken up residence on the bench near GZ. I dont know, some of these muggles can be so inconsiderate. Smile. Not wanting my minor side track from the way home to be a complete derailment, I made another small detour and headed for this cache. Apart from the sideways look I got from the muggle who had parked her car near where I first thought of parking, there was no one else to be seen. After a change of choice of parking spot this cache became a very quick park and grab. Not sure if the cache was exactly where it should have been (the coords said yes), but it was a little tricky to retrieve and took longer to remove from its hiding place than it did to find. I would have ventured further and hunted more of this series, but time (like muggles) wasnt on my side today. A future trip will be required. SmileThe cache is in good condition.TNLNSL. Stopped off on the way home while coming through this area and took me a while to find this in the dark but eventually spotted the hide. Thanks for the cache.

Pwala had some fun here after the cache was found. It was another one that was found where we had already searched. Must be time to stop for the day . . . . . . . . . but just one more. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

It was a beautiful day for a scooter ride on the nearby trail series! Afterwards, we stopped here to find this cache, I had a blast feeling like a kid again, riding the monkey swing. HoodedHooligans, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.

*End Of Year Cache Rush On A Bike Adventure #8*Find 7 of 8 for the day. Apologies for the generic logs. I'm trying to get 44 caches today, and have a limited time span to do it in. Worse, I'm on a bike, and it is wet and grey. Thanks heaps for the cache, and happy Third Day of Christmas!

Laverton home of the muggers

23-Sep-23
Found by The Empire Nestled in the heart of Laverton, a tranquil suburb of Melbourne's western suburbs, I embarked on a leisurely stroll through its picturesque parks. I'd left these caches for too long. Scarred by clearing out my home area many times overs the years and being caught out for a quick cache for a souvenir, these 6 caches close to Point Cook are starting to disappear so they need to found quickly now. As I ventured further into the suburb, the houses around its boundaries told a story of contrasts. Well-kept gardens coexisted with unkempt yards, and the spectrum of housing ranged from cozy cottages to homes in disrepair. The neighborhood, though affected by economic disparities, still radiated a sense of camaraderie and resilience. Thanks for the cache HoodedHooligans.- M

A quick find with the pacman today, good weather, good company, some nice caches, and no muggles or rug rats, thank you for the cache hooded hooligans.

I thought I'd continue the July Wheel-of-Challenges Streak Star souvenir campaign past the required 28 days and until the official end on the 6th August, so it's now day 31 of 35.

I DNFd this cache when it was first published. Today I returned and with Mudbrick on the hunt too, we quickly found this cache. How was it so hard last year?!
It helped that it was morning and there were no rugrats around the playground.
Thanks, HoodedHooligans.

Well the wheel of challenges for this month has been spun by HQ and it has come up with Streak Month.
This means that I will have a lot of detours and kilometres to do on the way home from work as I have found a lot of the caches in my area.
Melbourne has turned on a chilly afternoon and as I had a world ice cream event in Williamstown appointment after work I came down this way to visit a few parks.
I meet the CO’s at an event in Reservoir and they told me to have a look at this set.
This one turned out to be this very sneaky cache and there were a couple of people around but they didn’t disturb me.

Thanks HoodedHooligans TFTC.

Out for a few hours with Deanside, started on this trail and then went further afield. Another day of sunshine, good finds and lots of laughs. Maybe thus was the park with the flying fox? Great fun!

17-Jul-23

Was saying to ConnieandRick at the previous park his much I loves Flying Fox and have to go on them if I see one. Well , Lo and behold what does this park have!!! So of course I had to have a go and after very little coercion, Connie had a go too… how much laughter can two ‘mature’ women have…. Thank you so much HoodedHooligans for placing this cache here and making two cachers extremely happy! Oh and we did find the cache too! Happy trails, Deanside ??

A day off work and with SpursNorth in company, today was a perfect opportunity to add more smilies to the map around Altona Meadows and Laverton. There was the occasional drizzly shower which kept the muggles away but on the whole, it was a nice winter's day for caching. Overall, 22 finds with just 1 DNF which I consider a success.

We made a quick find here. Thanks HoodedHooligans.

Out for the day with my brother,Ketchthor. A few showers hear and there which made it muggle free. Some very good spots we found threw out the day. TFTC

Like previous finders, this one took a long time to find. I almost gave up, but persistence paid off. Once found, I wondered why it took so long.

My thanks to HoodedHooligans for the cache.

27-May-23
Today was free so a perfect opportunity to work on completing the hard souvenir for the favourite fan challenge for this month.
I did a mix of ad labs and whatever I came across mostly on bike trails on the scooter today and managed to complete the hard souvenir so now I can relax for a while.
Park was deserted so no problems with the find here today.
Thanks HoodedHooligans for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

A quick find on a wet morning with not a soul around.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.

Found by Mary and David at 16:35. So many memories for us coming here, as we lived on RAAF Base Laverton in the early 80s. Both our daughters (our son was too young) went to Laverton Park Primary, which is no more. Our thanks to HoodedHooligans.

Up early all bright eyed and bushy tailed so I went out for a cache before work. Cache is in good order and replaced ready for its next visitor:) Signed as DH. Thanks for the hide.

14-Dec-22
Suscoe was having a day out in Melbourne before heading to a music concert this evening.
The weather was still in this cold and rainy Summer mode.
It was an enjoyable day to be out and about with reasonable traffic to deal with.

Thanks to HoodedHooligans for this placement, we have enjoyed visiting the various parks around Laverton.

13-Dec-22
With my usual route to the office (not that I hardly ever come here anymore) blocked off, I had to find an alternate route to work. Having already exited the freeway I really didn’t want to go through the pain of getting back on so decided to work my way through Laverton via these caches.

A nice little series of placements, all found in good order! A lengthier find here between being well concealed and having to be wary of a semi-nearby worker muggle who fortunately wasnt too interested in what I was up to.

11-Dec-22
Dragged out the deadly treadly and took it over to Altona for a few caches in the parks.
A lovely morning to be out and about.
Less muggles in this area, in fact just one, but they were sitting on the seat in the other end of the park.
Took a while for them to move.
Thanks, Robmc.

02-Dec-22
Couldn't get access to this one to check it due to either a clever cacher or a random muggle who decided to be right near two of our placements

26-Nov-22
It's like they are building a house in the middle of the park here!

This one was very hard for us to find accompanied by echidna44. Had to get the right angle to get it. Great difficulty!!

06-Nov-22
A big day caching in the Altona and Laverton area with pinnacle333, we were able to enjoy the sunshine at last.
This one had us searching for a while before we found the right angle. Well placed. Thanks HoodedHooligans.

I really enjoyed this series. My feet got a bit wet though, as all the parks need a mow. This cache was found speedily.

04-Oct-22
The FTF beat me to it by about 20 mins so I was in no rush to get it before work. Thought I’d come back after midnight to find it. Didn’t take long at all to spot. I think using my phone torch helped to spot it easier

03-Oct-22
A DNF on a D2/D2.5 is not unusual for me. Should have gone with my usual instincts.
Thanks anyway from ThePacman.

+++ FTF +++

It's been awhile between drinks for blank logs.

With a little time up my sleeve on release I enjoyed the sunshine to GZ.

On arrival as usual a muggle was snug and cosy at GZ.

So I loitered around for what seemed like an eternity.

They finally moved on and I began a good luck.

Made it much harder than I should have.

Eventually I was looking from the right angle and had the bingo moment.
