Getting some hours up with the learning driver before she turns 17 next month we headed to Ayr for the day. Im not a fan of jigsaws but I am a fan of Jack Slade so thankfully this was a quick solve. At GZ no ladder but no worries. Spidey style. Thanks emilywanders for getting me off the couch. Nice DT.
We have been able to explore the area and take in all the sights and sounds of the city. Despite the humidity, the weather has been quite pleasant and we have enjoyed our stay. We still have a few days left before we head back on way to Mackay Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache emilywanders.
Bumblebee had started the puzzle, and was going to work on it for the next visit to her hometown. Earlier on in the day, a caching trip had the family passing a familiar site. Bumblebee suggested taking the gamble, seeing as Possum and Bilby were back at Nan and Pops. Bumblebee awkwardly climbed with the aid of Ballbags knee-up. Things are NOT good for this purpose. Nevertheless, she was able to get to the top and find the cache. Ballbag&Bumblebee gleefully traded some of the treasures. Your loss Possum&Bilby. lol!!!!! TFTC .
Day 6 of our NQ holiday & staying with the family in Ayr, we spent the day with all the kids who wanted to go geocaching
Our son DangerMouse09 was all over this one & in a flash was up on top of the stump showing off his find [^]

Mr CNQ was out this morning in the Ayr/Alva area to get some caches. Used the ladder and avoided the spliters, took a while for a break in the surprising traffic out this way. Cache was well stocked and in good condition, thanks emilywanders
Yeah, I think lots has been said about jigsaw caches by now. At least they result in nice D ratings and together with the final it was in fact a very welcome DT combination. Fortunately I brought a little tool to avoid any splinters, allowing a quick and fun find. Thanks for placing this one!
It has been quite some time since I explored the general Burdekin region. Numerous years ago we stayed in town overnight, did a dive at the SS Yongala and enjoyed the little town a little more before continuing further. Since that time we usually only rushed through to leave as much bitumen behind us as possible with the aim of exploring locations down south. Also a few more wet visits at the Yongala followed, but all of those were made via liveaboars.
But not this time. This time I specifically took the time to enjoy the area. Well, and what better to do than searching for all these great new caches that have fairly recently been added to the map. Thank you very much emilywanders that you have created this cache and showed me the area! Much appreciated.

I replaced the container today after the last one was demolished by what I believe to have been birds. This new container is much more durable and shouldn’t look like a sac of spiders eggs to the poor people trying to retrieve it
Todays outing could have easily been the geocaching version of the kids story book "The bigger digger" because today we arrived back at GZ but this time we had a BIGGER ladder with us as the previous one had left us a tad short of the target. The extra height was definitely a big help as the cache was quickly located and thankfully no splinters were involved in retrieving it. TFTC
This was a nice DT combo to see pop up on the Ayr map but it did involve a bugbear which is getting worse with every example that I do. I can definitely understand why a CO uses them, but have never used the puzzle type for a geocache and have stated that I won’t a number of times.. I have however, used it for someone else’s hide and as part of a Snag the Tag Wizards drop as a little series, which might give someone the option of finding where a cache is prior to walking the map, but I don’t honestly expect anyone to trying to complete it as walking the map is far easier than the jigidi. I’ve seen them used for a complete geoart and they make me shudder every time the pieces are spread on the computer screen.
I don’t want to take anything away from those who solve these, and I deliberately ignored racing down here to get the FTF as I wasn’t deserving something I didn’t bother solving myself. To be honest, I didn’t put more than 4 pieces together before I reached out to online help to get the solve. Whether this means my log gets deleted, I’d hope not, and I’d argue that my name is in the log so the find should still stand. I just don’t enjoy the tedium of finding so many pieces to fit them together anymore.
The photo itself was great, and I’m pretty sure the guy who solved it had a go at my hypocrisy through my alter ego. Thanks for placing new caches in Ayr. As I have placed caches in places north, south and west of Townsville, I think doing so is great for the game and will go after the others after this current souvenir rolls over to the next.
Thanks emilywanders for the cache and what is a fantastic hide. I did enjoy that. Great placement. No ladder was required by me today. I did wonder if it was a giant spider egg sack and was happy to find that it wasn’t.

Being vertically challenged can be so frustrating at times and being up a ladder is no longer an ideal option for Mr Burdair but he did try but even he wasn't tall enough to safely complete the search at GZ so we came away empty handed today.
[FTF] Well what a way to start the new week with an FTF. After a late night of cache solving we could not wait for day light to head to GZ. A quick stop we signed and returned the cache to its location. Thanks Emily Wanders for the cache. TFTC.
