Short Trip Away Day #2 [24/11] of 3Day two of my holidays (and day #2 of 3 for my trip away) saw me having a slow start. I ate Bfast and then headed off to catch up with some non-geocaching and ex-geocaching friends at the Woden church. Along the way I stopped off quickly to find the final cache in the Under Athllon cache in the series which was the second cache of the three. After church and the catch up with my friends, I headed over to the arboretum for the lunchtime Geo-event. It was a great event with all talk Geo and yummy snag sandwiches. Next I headed down the hill to the lake to find some of the newer caches that has popped up recently, including a very unique AL. I then went up Black Mountain to find a couple of ALs and a bonus cache. From there I started making my way back to the motel but not before finding two more cache which has been on the to-find-list for far too long. I also quickly stopped off to get some dinner. TB visit. Some caches were signed as JM. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTE & TFTCs! My first find for the day. It was also my only find before midday because of the reasons stated above. This one has been on the to-find-list for far too long and so while driving past, I stopped off to find it. After the short walk to GZ, I quickly spotted the cache from below and soon the TOTT was deployed. A quick climb and soon it was signed and replaced ready for the next finder. It feels great to finally have completed the this mini series. Thanks DSD and now off to church.
Wilbert67 and I are grabbing some of caches today , not even the rain could keep us from finding caches. This was one of them . TFTC
A midweek caching trip to Canberra, that's the life of a shift worker. Quickly packed and raced down to meet J+J.AU for some caching fun in Canberra. Freezing cold and wet but that doesn't stop a true cacher.TFTC Wilbert67
Having a good understanding of the genre from Under Athllon I, the find and retrieve was quick and straightforward here (although still felt a bit precarious for someone with acrophobia).TFTC!
Thanks to Scaphoid for reattaching the bison to the bridge with a replacement cable tie.
Found with Scaphoid on Reconciliation Day to do cache maintenance and get various TOTT caches all around the place! Reapplied the TOTT for this next cache in the series, and Scaphoid offered to go up once again! The cache was still in position, however its attachment mechanism has broken so Scaphoid went up and put a new one up, which my golly, looks hard to do whilst using a TOTT, and yet I was the one complaining that my arms were sore from holding the TOTT! Well done! TFTC DSD!
Toy Hunters and I went on a bit of a TOTT run today as I've recently acquired a nice little stash of some more commonly required TOTTs.We agreed fairly early on I was more comfortable with ladder climbs under bridges so once we had to ladder in place, up I went. I seemed to have no luck with the zip ties today, I pulled ever so slightly on this one and it snapped... oh well. Signed the log on solid ground and went back up with a fresh zip tie and reattached it as found... you wouldn't even notice. Thank you DSD for the cache!
Find # 12130Caching adventures continue and trying to tick off as many on the solved pile as I can before they go missing or get archived. Great to avenge a previous DNF on this one that was indeed missing last time. All caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for Under Athllon II and this nice little series
Was quite noticeable from a short distance with the sun at the right angle. Tftc
Found by Mary and David at 10:30 in company with pprass. Much like the previous find. Spot the container, deploy the TOTT, and sign the log. Our thanks to DARKSIDEDAN.
Found at 10:31 AM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob. So we sort of knew what to look for and this one was a very straight forward find considering what we already knew Thanks to DARKSIDEDAN
An early going with Baktrak and PPE on some ladder and puzzle hunting. Some team work and coordination saw us making good progress around before swapping to fishing poles. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Found during the Mega event in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. Our team comprised courtneyrose_, Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, Freddo, gridge98 and Team Waldron, signing the logs as ABP to save time, and space in the logbooks, or with our individual caching names. Enjoyed a great weekend away finding a rewarding range of cache types, d/t combinations, cache hides and retrievals. Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN!
Reperio 17:54Day 3 of our Capital GeoBash mega event trip to Canberra, and today, Miss Vitruvius and I teamed up with Haveanez and DazRascal for some tree climbing fun and adventure. After tracking down Athllon I, it was on to this one next, and like its predecessor, this one was found in much the same way.Gratias DARKSIDEDANAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Found while attending the Mega event in Canberra over Easter. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team waldron, courtney rose, davidwazza, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. #4247 I’ve been watching this one since our failure in July. With someone feeling the need to place a throw down DeadThief and I took the opportunity to drop back past and claim the find. TFTC.
Visiting family in Canberra, and picking up caches along the way. Targeting high-terrains (because of the challenge and adventure getting them!) and also Adventure Labs too.
Saw the recent DNFs, so had a very good look for the cache, and was sure it had been muggled, so had a replacement that was the same style as Under Athllon 1, and put in the replacement. Sent photos to the CO, hopefully this is ok to keep this one alive. A fun series on these bridges. Thanks DarksideDan!

Reached GZ with DT and immediately spotted what we assumed to be the connection device but no container. Searched the ground and drains in the area as well in case it had fallen recently. Moving on to Athllon 1 our thoughts were confirmed finding an identical hide. Cache would appear to be missing.
A nice quick find and sign here, no idea how somebody did this without a TOTT, maybe some great finger grip? That would be entertaining to watch! TFTC DARKSIDEDAN!
We came here before the ladder and went to get one and now that we have it was a quick find. This one was lower than Under Athlon 1 and didn’t require much balance. TFTC
After everyone involved had a bit of a sleep in, I was happy to join up with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK and Sebass19 for an afternoon of poles and ladder caches in the southern suburbs of Canberra. After a few difficult caches yesterday, I was really happy to be able to find all of today's caches, even if I needed more eyes to find some of them.
The next three caches of the day each involved short ladder carries and a quick find of a cache placed well out of the way of traffic on the road, but we had to be careful of cyclists.
Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN

Headed into Canberra with fitzy_1965 for my first caching outing since recovering from Covid that hit over the Christmas period.
We met up with albida33 and sebass19 to collect some high terrain caches.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise stated.

29,660. Found with minniek, albida33 and sebass19 during a wonderful day's caching around Southern Canberra. Lots of Stars, both D and T, collected today.
With minniek feeling 100% again, we ventured in to Canberra and picked up a fantastic set of caches. The four of us ventured to Athllon Drive, with an aim of 4 or 5 T5 caches to add to our tallies. From the parking location we headed over to GZ where the cache was thankfully quickly spotted. TOTT deployed, and up minniek went for a quick recovery. Signed the log, replaced the cache exactly as found, then headed off to the next cache on the list.
Thanks DSD !! This little series of caches was awesome fun to find.

Quickly found with the correct TOTT on a stinking hot day. Only the odd muggle passing by, not that they had any idea what I was up to....I assume. TNLNSL TFTC
Muggle65 and l have spent the weekend getting UFOs and we are starting to feel a bit weary. M65 has decided l need to climb the ladder a few times. Managed to redeem myself after my poor show at the last one. Thank you for the fun ??
After another arduous caching weekend, ?????? the Green Geckos & I had enough time to do a couple of ladder caches about town.
It took a little while but having a ladder climbing expert is all it took to easily find this one. There’s no denial as to who loves the ground the most ????????. Did I mention i travel with my very own gecko??????.

Up and at 'em early this morning. Team FATZ on the loose on the south side from 6:30 am. What naughtiness could we get up to? What havoc could we cause? Well, not too much, actually. It was a sedate, ladder-climbing affair mostly, with a tree climb thrown in for variety. TikvaNZ had already found all the caches that the rest of us found, but I'm sure he was glad that he joined us. Can't explain why right now, but it might become clear in the next few weeks.
At around 7am, between ladder caches, I caught a brief glimpse of geocaching royalty turning right onto Drakeford Drive. I wondered what mischief that person would be getting up to today.
All caches were in good condition. Not surprising as they had all been published at 12:01pm last Sunday.
We tried out a local café and while the coffee was pretty good, the vibe was a bit meh. The best thing was the company. FIJ read us amazing feats from the 2004 edition of the Guinness Book of Records, and we wondered how many of those records stood, 18 years later. Are any geocaching records from 2004 still around today, unbroken? Who knows.
We signed the logs as ZAF or FAZ or something. The initials of ZQX, AngelG27, and Fox in Jox. Nice shorthand for some small log books.
Thanks for all the caches, DSD, and congrats to passing 1800 placed caches. I do believe some appreciation is due to Loci612, who helped DSD place these caches. Thanks to Loci612 too.

Out with the usual suspects to grab a few caches Southside this morning. It had been a few weeks since we could coordinate some time to hang out and with the fine weather forecast for the morning, it was a no-brainer.
TOTT deployed and a quick find at GZ, despite it being well out of sight!
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache and the fun!

So good to get out and about on a pleasant spring day. And what a nice birthday present - some caching with friends. FATZ (Fox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ and ZQX) ventured south to collect some high Ts and to add to the pool!!

#16796 - 11:20:00 AM; Out on a caching run with Sol de lune to add a few more for today's date and pick up some of the higher D/T rated caches in the area. Equipped with the appropriate TopTT, we managed a reasonably quick find once we reached GZ. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
Out with LukyL10n for a run around the area to grab these new ones...some with required D/T's to help fill the grid a bit a more. No issues once the ToTT was deployed and we soon had the cache in hand and the log signed.
Thanks for a bit of fun again DSD....certainly lived up to it's name.

After heading down south to attend the TE CC event we decided to grab some caches while in the area.
Had the required equipment in the car for this one so gave it a go. No issues locating this one.
FFLL#1 did the honours and the cache was soon signed and we were headed back to the car.
Thanks for the hide DARKSIDEDAN and thanks for another enjoyable day out Rapidlywild.

After attending the CC event today, a heap of new caches were released so we decided to check a couple out. After getting a joint FTF nearby, we decided to make our way to this one being we had the appropriate TOTTs in the car. No issues at this one and FFLL#1 made the retrieval. Signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache placement and thanks for another fun day out and about FFLL ladies

Following today's lunch time event, a few caching teams tackled the nearby caches published today. A short wander with the ladder from the nearest parking. Cache easily found. TFTC.

After having to leave TE’s CCE for a family lunch, came back down southside to catch up with a few cachers doing some of the new ones released today. Beautiful day to be outside.

Found with a group after todays event. Another cool ladder climb. Thanks for hiding this cache DARKSIDEDAN for me and others to find.
Found with a bunch of likeminded people after the nearby event. Thanks, DSD!
Caching down Southside with DSD today, we only had a very small number of caches left on the map to find, so DSD was keen to hide some instead!
I was the dedicated "Bridge Finder" and "Radius Checker", trying to see how many different bridges down south we could find without caches already present! We were quite impressed by how many we located! Managed to get some fun cache hides out too with the TOTT's we had on offer!
---
Another cache under Athllon!
Thanks DSD, appreciate you taking me along for these hides!
