Four years ago, a Bromance team adventure to hike Australia's highest 10 peaks in Kosciuszko National Park was cancelled after bushfires devastated the Snowy Mountains (and indeed most of the Eastern seaboard). We finally returned to Kosciuszko National Park a few days ago and spent three wonderful days in perfect weather hiking a circuit around the mountains climbing all of Australia's 13 highest peaks and collecting all the alpine caches along our route. After a recovery night and some caching in Canberra, we made our way to Goulburn last night, where we enjoyed a big feed at the pub before an early night. We have lots of caches planned today on our way to Sydney, so we got an early start. After collecting a dozen or so target caches in Goulburn, we headed north diverting to collect a few caches in this Challenge series. Unfortunately, some roadworks and bridge works would have required a long detour to complete the entire series and being short of time, we picked up what we could along the way. This poor old cache was not on our original list, but as we worked through the nearby challenge series, I realised it was in another Council/ County area. Now, I am working on a challenge for Australian Council areas. So I convinced my companions to stop. After a extensive search, there was no container found. TFTC JeffPete
Picked off a few of the Periodic Table of the Elements cache series in the Marulan area today. TFTC
Got it this time. Depends on who puts it back before you. If they put ut back easy, sticking out at end, or push it all the way in to the centre, where you need a tott. Tftc

After a 5km walk from the Bungonia Campground to the Lookdown Lookout and back, as part of a navigation research project, followed by another 2km to find Troglodyte #3, I made my way home via Marulan to knock off a bunch of periodic table caches. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Sims_family and Dromaniax are on day Eight of a our 10 day trip to Queensland and back again towing a 12x8x7 foot trailer that is loaded to the hilt and weighs quite a bit. Fuel efficiency has gone out the window with the Ginja Ninja (My Orange Mitsubishi Triton) going through fuel faster than I have ever seen before.
Day Eight sees us travel from Woolongong to Canberra.
We were on a detour to grab a nearby challenge cache and this was an easy spot to stop with a large trailer so it was to good to pass up stopping.
Thank you my_name_jeff_1 for the hide and sorry for the late log as I am trying to catch up logs from the big journey.

Today is the ninth day of the Sims_family/Dromaniax big road trip to Queensland and back again.
We are towing a very big trailer, which was chockers, but when you have a mission, someone else is paying for the fuel, and there is the opportunity for nine days of caching fresh fields, you jump at the chance.
We have a long list of target caches and hope to cross quite a few goals off the list on this trip.
We were heading back south now, and the Trailer was significantly lighter.
We made a slight detour to pick up a Challenge cache, and this one and its elemental friend were on our way.
Nice quick finds of caches in excellent condition.
Thank you for this Traditional cache my_name_jeff_1

Cache 9952 on 1 Apr 2023.
Out with Bobl27 to collect a few caches around Goulburn before I head to the mega next week and claim cache number 10,000. Just grabbing some easy pick ups as I need to nurse a twisted ankle before getting more physical next week! 36 finds from 36 caches looked for, a pleasant drive in the country!
This cache: quick find, sign and replace.
Thanks my_name_jeff_1 for the cache and the fun!

Picton & Penrith Canberra Day weekend Invasion. Day 6. After a fun few days with a large group of cachers I am now heading home via Marulan and Goulburn for today's events. I spent the night in Marulan at a great country pub. Dinner was at the same time as a darts competition where they were all having a great time. I headed out along the road with plenty of caches as far as I felt I could get the small car safely. The first two caches were out on dirt roads and the final few on a very busy section with quarry trucks all over the place. I was happy to find all the cache I attempted today.
The remainder of the mornings caches were quick roadside element caches that were all found without any problems.
Thanks for the cache my_name_jeff_1

Out and about on the roads behind Towrang today. Most caches were found in good order and in nice hiding spots. Our route today wasn't as quick as we had expected: two of the three crossings of the Wollondilly River here are still closed due to flooding, so a bit of backtracking which slowed us down.
This cache was a quick find in the obvious spot.
Thanks, my_name_jeff_1.

Out and about with a few caching colleagues for a few hours before grandkid duties back home. Quick find on a beautiful Summer's day. TFTC my name jeff1.
Warm to hot day, but OK for some not too stenuous caching with friends. TFTC
Decided it was time to grab this series around Marulan. All caches found OK in some mostly familiar territory. The Ambrose and Red Hill roads were new to me though, so good to see those areas.
Thanks,
Thanks,
A last minute midweek roadtrip to Goulburn and Yass valley with some stop overs along the way. Visited a lot of great spots and did some interesting caches.

Managed to talk my way into a caching raid with SueDan83... and then I kept talking... hoping I didn't talk my way out of any future raids
The day started in light spitty rain and ended in hot steamy sunshine... with great caches, yummy tea breaks and wonderful company in between. Thanks to SueDan83 and all the COs for a fantastic beginning to 2023.
The road was narrow so Dan dropped me off to do the signing duties while he turned the car around... a quiet road suddenly became a busy road and of course, I was finding it hard to wind the log tight enough to fit back into the container. Thanks

Most of the time there was very little traffic on this road. However, whilst at this location which was a bit narrow, 3 cars drove by. TFTC my_name_jeff_1
Nice to be able to get out here again after the recent flooding. Quick find.

Quick find.
We headed into the flooded eastern states for a week of geocaching fun. The mission was Frying Pan. The only December 2000 placed cache remaining in Australia. All other choices for this month are international. Traveling in style and comfort we selected the next cache on merit and forward movement. Some back tracking was required in the wettest areas. Wildlife seen included a lyre bird, king parrot and a single leech. Mozzies were a pest. Caches were found and signed. Wet logs were wet. Water does that. Numerous TOTTs were employed.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to NSW and back with Freddo.
Our main target was ‘Frying Pan’ in the Chichester State Forest, near Barrington Tops north of Newcastle.
We allowed ourselves a week to travel there and back, taking a circuitous route through Victoria and NSW, camping each night and finding a range of caches of interest along the way.
Rains over the past few months meant a few detours along the way and plenty of water about, restricting access to some caches and camping areas. Many of the roads were quite chopped up with potholes and the mosquitoes were plentiful! But we had a good run with the weather, with just the odd shower, but mostly fine, warm and overcast.

Arrived into Goulbourne staying for 3 nights at the caravan park near the merino
Day3
So many new caches since we were here last, so headed out today, caching via Currawong Road, Challenge caches & Perodic table caches we targeted. We had two detours from a flooded creek, so didn't do as many as expected.
Thanks for placing your cache.

I had a nice 3 dayh camping trip along Wombeyan Caves Rd, and instead of heading home the shorter way I decided to go for a long detour to find some more caches while in the area.
I so enjoy driving these country roads, far away from constant traffic. Thanks for the caches to bring me out here.

minniek and I have helped my_name_jeff_1 plan, place and publish these Periodic Table of the Elements Series of caches.
Now that they have been published and found, I am claiming a find. I hope everyone enjoys the series and the different types of hides. There will be a couple of puzzles at the end.

No luck. If it says 1 star difficulty, experience has taught me, it wont be easy.
*FTF*. I have been enjoying this elements trail in town. Nice to see them all pop out of town as I am travelling about. TFTC my_name_jeff_1.
