Reperio 18:22Up early again this morning for a full day of caching around the Yass and Goulburn area, and fortunately the rain that hung around all day yesterday had mostly passed by. While the ground was still pretty wet, most of the caches were found in good order. Another great day caching in the area.Gratias fitzy_1965As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Picked off a few of the Periodic Table of the Elements cache series in the Marulan area today. TFTC
A quick find after detouring off the highway on my way home from Canberra to chase some of the challenge caches hidden in this part of the world. No time today, though, to do more caches in this elements series ... I have to get to an event in Sydney and am already going to be late. Thanks for the smiley my_name_jeff_1 ... and just letting you know that the bison has disappeared. However, the log sheet is still there, inside a ziplock bag.
What a cool idea for a series/powertrail! As I am a Chemistry teacher, the Periodic Table of the Elements is my TOTT! It may take me a few visits to collect all the elements, but I've made a good start. Don't know when I'll drive down from Sydney to find the rest, but I hope you have all 118 of them out there now! TFTC my_name_jeff_1
A fun day out with friends caching and hiking. Not often that I get to spend whole day out, and driven around to enjoy the views. Lovely quite day here at GZ today but the highway was extremely busy and fast going. Quick find and return. TFTC my_name_jeff_1.
Back into the periodic table series today. A quick find here - thanks, my_name_jeff_1!

Missing bison …. Only paper log with plastic bag… need replaced
Out and about today with the geokids collecting the challenge cache series. I had attempted to find this one earlier in the year, but due to a car being right behind me and a lack of available parking, I decided to come back another time. Today was that other time. This time I was approaching the cache from the other direction and there were a lot more safe places to pull over.
Once parked, we headed towards the most likely hiding place. It was not long before the cache was located and signed. The bison was missing though, just a zip lock bag and the log. We replaced everything as found.

After a 5km walk from the Bungonia Campground to the Lookdown Lookout and back, as part of a navigation research project, followed by another 2km to find Troglodyte #3, I made my way home via Marulan to knock off a bunch of periodic table caches. Cache easily found. TFTC.

This cache: no bison, just a plastic bag and mini log
Thanks my_name_jeff_1 for the cache and the fun!

Heck! What a tricky area to park to get to this cache without having to walk 100 metres or more! Wonder what Palladium is used for?

There is no Bison tube - just a piece of slim paper in a plastic zip lock bag jammed in the sign.
No little bison here today, but a plastic bag that we signed.
Thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the hide.
Picton & Penrith Canberra Day weekend Invasion. Day 6. After a fun few days with a large group of cachers I am now heading home via Marulan and Goulburn for today's events. I spent the night in Marulan at a great country pub. Dinner was at the same time as a darts competition where they were all having a great time. I headed out along the road with plenty of caches as far as I felt I could get the small car safely. The first two caches were out on dirt roads and the final few on a very busy section with quarry trucks all over the place. I was happy to find all the cache I attempted today.
The remainder of the mornings caches were quick roadside element caches that were all found but this one only has a log in a plastic bag, maybe someone needed a bison ?
Thanks for the cache my_name_jeff_1

Decided it was time to grab this series around Marulan. All caches found OK in some mostly familiar territory. The Ambrose and Red Hill roads were new to me though, so good to see those areas.
Thanks,
Thanks,
A last minute midweek roadtrip to Goulburn and Yass valley with some stop overs along the way. Visited a lot of great spots and did some interesting caches.

As with previous finders, the bison is no longer there. Unfortunately we did not have one with us to replace this cache and resorted to doing the same and placed our names on the sheet of paper in the bag. SL TFTC
Managed to talk my way into a caching raid with SueDan83... and then I kept talking... hoping I didn't talk my way out of any future raids
The day started in light spitty rain and ended in hot steamy sunshine... with great caches, yummy tea breaks and wonderful company in between. Thanks to SueDan83 and all the COs for a fantastic beginning to 2023.
We got into a bit of a rhythm along here... park, jump out, find, sign, log. Found just a plastic bag... sorry didn't have any more containers to replace it. Thanks

Bison is missing. Bag & log only, no container. None with me today to replace. Given the wild winds at the moment I hope this survives.

We made a replacement here.
We headed into the flooded eastern states for a week of geocaching fun. The mission was Frying Pan. The only December 2000 placed cache remaining in Australia. All other choices for this month are international. Traveling in style and comfort we selected the next cache on merit and forward movement. Some back tracking was required in the wettest areas. Wildlife seen included a lyre bird, king parrot and a single leech. Mozzies were a pest. Caches were found and signed. Wet logs were wet. Water does that. Numerous TOTTs were employed.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to NSW and back with Freddo.
Our main target was ‘Frying Pan’ in the Chichester State Forest, near Barrington Tops north of Newcastle.
We allowed ourselves a week to travel there and back, taking a circuitous route through Victoria and NSW, camping each night and finding a range of caches of interest along the way.
Rains over the past few months meant a few detours along the way and plenty of water about, restricting access to some caches and camping areas. Many of the roads were quite chopped up with potholes and the mosquitoes were plentiful! But we had a good run with the weather, with just the odd shower, but mostly fine, warm and overcast.
We replaced the missing cache and logbook here.
Thanks my_name_jeff_1 for the cache.

With the ease of finding the other caches in similar gzs I can confirm that this bison has gone bye bye!
Not in the sign and can't find it on the ground, but the grass has recently been cut so probably been flicked away
Couldn't find this one. It wasn't in the first two levels of the back of the sign, and I had trouble with the top level which was hard to reach. I ended up pushing a pencil through it with no result, but this is not conclusive as the pencil can pass the bison tube without pushing it out. I suppose I should have thought to search on the ground near the sign, but I had parked there and didn't think of it until I had driven off.
Given the D2 rating, I thought it might have been in the top level. However, this is the first one I have seen in this series, and, having found several more bisons in signs in this series, I am now confident that the bison is missing or lying in the long grass.
Thanks for this series.

minniek and I have helped my_name_jeff_1 plan, place and publish these Periodic Table of the Elements Series of caches.
Now that they have been published and found, I am claiming a find. I hope everyone enjoys the series and the different types of hides. There will be a couple of puzzles at the end.
