Logs
TFTC Team Canyonero cache and log are all ok signed and replaced, left a soldier
Another nice easy find, but the ducks chased me off the path as I was too close to their babies!
Found with beginner cacher Howeirdsx3 and brand new cacher Laura for my second ever Canberra cache and our second find of the day. Howeirdsx3 was the first to spot it. TFTC
TFTCFound with the family and Junior minicache K dude.Needs a bit of maintenance.Scribbled on a corner.
Quick find but the log is full! Tftc never walked into this island! Heard the bells!
Nice to find a small in this area. All good here, although a new log might be required.Glad it wasn't the whipping willow from Harry Potter
Thanks for this one. Beautiful spot. The log is very full, had to find a space along to top.
Clearing the maintenance flag as the cache is still available, just not with the "easy" route. ??Once they open up the island I'll post another log.
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 3 and we had an absolute blast, after an earlier night last night we got up early to head to Yass and the surrounding areas to cleanup a bunch of caches inparticular whereigos and our personal favourite the challenge caches. We stopped in Yass and completed some high quality caches before venturing back to the trails. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA.
Out and about again, headed around Canberra for the MEGA. Super excited my first MEGA and heading over with 2 others from the Cockburn Crew - signed log as WA to save time. This is 14871, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to Team Canyonero for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. Easter 2024 (GC9PNFB): - 5 day event at Canberra Park adjacent to EPIC (Canberra Showgrounds) on the Federal Highway, only 6km from the centre of the city. The mascot for the Mega is Gangles the endemic Gang Gang Cockatoo, a bird you may see or hear while in Canberra. The official website - geobash.ozmega.com.auACT has over 4700 active caches, power trails, and over 100 Lab Adventures. Heaps of challenge caches, hikes for geocaches for all levels of skills and fitness.
After finishing up the mega event festivities I C Nothing and I were still up for a spot of caching so talked Lachlan1.77, Leg5 & Barnzy12 into joining us and we made our way back into the city in an attempt to get as many central caches as we could before the end of the weekend and a return to normal life beckons. On a quiet night in Canberra we combined between walking and driving to caches and by the time we returned to our accommodation had managed to collect a tidy sum of 21 finds and starting to rest before an early morning event to kick off Monday. Thanks Team Canyonero for placing Can you hear the drums... err Bells Fernando for me and others to find.I added my name to the log on 31/3/2024.This is find number 8762 for me.
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. Might have snuck onto the island under the cover of darkness. All logs have been signed as WA to save space, abbreviation for our team from Western Australia. Cheers Team Canyonero! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
Nobody saw nothing. Greencordial asked BenM70 to do up a caching found template while she is doing the driving and Im doing duck all. Im actually just pressing the screen randomly like Im actually enthused to be doing this. Anyways, we are visiting the national capital to attend Grrencordial2nd mega as I got scared by Covid for Dayboro and didnt take the punt that Townsvilles coolest cachers BenM70 and burgo78 did. Thank you Team Canyonero for placing this cache for me to enjoy!
Well, for someone that has not bothered to do anything geocaching related for a while I seem to be going out of the way to do Mega events. This particular caching trip was the brainchild of the other participant in this little excursion, that being greencordial. I flew into Toowoomba this morning hoping that the car gremlins had departed (they hadnt, but were sorted with another quick mechanical visit) and we were on our ways to Canberra. Fingers crossed Got a bit jungly all of a sudden here didnt it. Found the cache even with the hinderance to the mission. A required JASMER for me Thanks Team Canyonero for placing this Traditional for me to convert into a smilie
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. Closed
A nice easy find; had to sneak across the bridge though, but we didnt have to go into the worksite area around the carillon building itself. A nice spot for lunch at the picnic table near the cache. TFTC
Serene scene. Rippling lake waves. Water craft cruising. Pedestrians promenading. Bicyclists and skaters gliding. And a geocacher laid back, under a tree looking up into the sky.
Found it!

This was precariously hidden but in good condition, I guess muggles don’t come down to this spot that far all that much.
Our last cache for the day before whizzing back to the car on scooters. What an awesome few hours and a great way to spend our last day in Canberra before heading home TFTC

#22497. We biked past a lot of trads without stopping today, but Troodles was keen to find this old one. Thankfully it was a quick find, as we needed to keep the pace up to get around the lake and drop off the bikes before it got dark. TFTC.
Found on a bike ride around the lake. We had to pick and choose which caches to stop for, but this old one was a no brainer.
No need for stealth on a weekday morning, as there were few people about. A quick find for StreetWalkerNZ. TFTC.

The Mended DrumFiligree Street at Short Street, Ankh-Morpork.Well-known disreputable tavern. Heroes of the Discworld frequent it when they are in Ankh-Morpork, and bar brawl casualties are quite high. However, if a tourist wants to meet heroes and see them in bar fights, The Drum is the place to go. Originally The Broken Drum, this tavern has been renamed The Mended Drum after a change of ownership and a reconstruction due to a fire.
CaptainVimes and I are on a driving holiday from Melbourne to Canberra this week. We enjoyed a pleasant stroll to GZ and made a quick find. Thanks for the fun Team Canyonero
Sims_family and Dromaniax are on day Nine of a our 10 day trip to Queensland and back again towing a 12x8x7 foot trailer that is loaded to the hilt and weighs quite a bit. Fuel efficiency has gone out the window with the Ginja Ninja (My Orange Mitsubishi Triton) going through fuel faster than I have ever seen before.
Day nine we spent the whole time in Canberra with the trailer safely parked allowing some caching without it.
Mr Dromaniax is on a mission to collect 180 Virtual caches so with two Virtuals nearby it was a target area for us tonight.
So while here visiting the Carillon we had find the bonus of a couple of trads
Thank you Team Canyonero for the Cache and sorry for the late log I am still trying to catch up on logs from our big Journey

Today is the ninth day of the Sims_family/Dromaniax big road trip to Queensland and back again.
We are towing a very big trailer, which was chockers, but when you have a mission, someone else is paying for the fuel, and there is the opportunity for nine days of caching fresh fields, you jump at the chance.
We have a long list of target caches and hope to cross quite a few goals off the list on this trip.
We were heading back south now, and the Trailer was significantly lighter.
With the trailer shed for a day, we could quickly move around Canberra and park easily.
Nice quick find of cache in excellent condition.
Thank you for this Traditional cache Team Canyonero.

My last visit to Canberra in September 2018 I had a DNF on this one.
I was determined to turn my blue frownie into a yellow smiley. I really don't know if it was missing last time or I just had broken geoeyes. Nice easy find today. TFTC

Tenth day of our trip and we have come to Canberra via the Rutherglen Mega, Sydney and Newcastle. First full day in Canberra and the main focus was Questacon. Then if time permitted, the plan was a few geocaches and then dinner.
We ate our dinner on the banks of Lake Burley Griffin listing to the tunes of The Carillion and watching the sun sink behind Black Mountain. Afterwards we strolled across the bridge to Aspen Isle to see the Carillion close up and we heard the tunes close up before they finished for the night.
Thanks for the cache Team Canyonero

We had only 4 days in Canberra and had to be a little bit choosy with the caches we targeted. This one was a definite as you can’t go past a golden oldie. We had this very tranquil place to ourselves today and after checking out The Carillion, we then took a leisurely stroll to this cache.
Cache in great condition. Thank you Team Canyonero for highlighting this location for us.
