teamdfl and I have a kayaking adventure planned for today. We met at Acacia Park and were paddling before 8am, following the incoming tide south for 2 hours, and returned just before 4pm. 12 smileys all up, and it was a grand day out This one took some effort to get out of the kayaks, and then some searching to find, but the retrieval went well. TFTC, Brislions.
The low tide was making things more challenging now. A few of our later fishes were done form the boats. Trying to keep both of us in place with the tide and now reasonable breeze was fun.
A great day out with Muggle65 on the water! Some minor injuries but all for a good cause This cache completes my fourth loop (finally!) I'm still trying to get comfortable with kayaking, this may take a while haha . Muggle65 may or may not have vision issues due to the reflection of my white legs. I suggested he bring a welding mask but he didn't listen. Thanks for the cache Cheers Fav!
Planned a yakking trip this afternoon with a few tree fishing ones in mind. Ive recently deployed a new TOTT for such occasions and was keen to give it a try. It was amazing! I was on the dropping tide not far before low tide so some caches were trickymudsteep banks. Had my eye on 10 catches, abandoned 2 due to the tide and 1 dnf. This was my dnf, maybe next trip!TFTC
Today I headed up to the Pine River to do some solo kayaking and caching. It was a short 2hr outing because of other responsibilities today and the sheer amount of time it takes me to drive up here. But it was a lovely day to be out on the water and fairly peaceful here in the middle of a work day. I managed to find 4/5 of the caches I went looking for today. This was the one I couldn't find. I looked for quite a while and couldn't spot it up in the tree anywhere.
Floated right up to GZ, which is a lovely section of the river. Got out and had a walk around, I spent a long time admiring the beautiful rocks along the river bed but harnessed enough self control to leave them alone! Log was a bit wet here, but we cleaned it up the best we could. TFTC
Today i decided to take a little kayak out this way and thought it would not take me long. It ended up taking me around 4 hours all up and i found 6 caches. This was my fifth find today after launching from Apex park and kayaking further up the creek. This was a nice place to pull over to . Thanks Brislions for all the fun
I had a very adventurous day out with Duppers recently, making a big dent in the caches along the South Pine River. I dont normally make a habit of writing generic logs, except on occasions like this where theyve been found all in one hit like a trail. So I apologise up front. On a stormy looking Saturday morning we started out early, knowing we had a big paddle ahead. All up we found 15 caches and kayaked over 8km. We departed from Acacia Park and stopping for a lunch break at the Baringwarra Boat Ramp before looping back. All puzzles were solved ahead of time so we were prepared with a best route and at one point we did a sneaky overland skip do as to avoid backtracking. We had a great deal of fun fishing, climbing and swing like a monkey in trees. We met some friendly cows at one point made land on islands at other points. We collected plenty of CITO along the way and even found a cool item to repurpose into a cache. My fishing pole saw its final use on this trip as it had seen better days and suffered too much damage at my hands. Thankfully I already had a replacement ordered and it lasted the day. I managed to capsize myself once, fall in once and intentional jump in once from a tree. I was keen for a swim anyway . All up an exhausting day, but one filled with laughter, achievements and memories.
I spent a pleasant few hours paddling up and down South Pine River grabbing whatever caches appealed. Was it a D/T conducive to a future loop? Ok, I'll get it. Did I have to perform some form of risky shenanigans to get to it? Well, that can wait for a future visit at high tide. All in all a very enjoyable day with 9 finds and one DNF and plenty of reasons to come back some time in the future and do it all again Thanks for find #5261TNLN
An old friend has inspired me to get off my butt and get back into geocaching more. What better way to do that then go for a paddle. Beautiful weather, maybe a touch on the windy side but enjoyable nonetheless I had spied this one as I floated past before but with a boat of fishing muggles close by I decided to leave it for my return. Thankfully by the time I paddled back the boat was gone. Still getting the handle on this tree fishing thing from a yak, it certainly makes it harder! I did manage in the end to have my name on the log and replaced to where it had come from. Thanks for the cache Brislions
Down in SEQ for a few days to celebrate the life of a caching ambassador and a great friend Karicka.
Back in BrisVegas to grab some rare DT targets today with BenM70 and greencordial.
After picking up the rest of the series last year with Bug I didn’t want to leave this newer placement lonely, so Ben and I managed to use the back door to gain access. No problems at GZ for some foot fishing. Great DT
Thanks Brislions for adding to my day.

The lost trios, burgo, greencordial and myself went to pick out a few caches that took our fancy for one reason or another
The good ship SS Overlander was placed back into service here with greencordial manning the recharging of hers and my phones back at the car. Both burgo and myself took turns at navigating to this cache before deploying the rod to enable an online logging. We cast back of and drifted once more on the currents of life. Enjoy a challenge
Thanks Brislions for placing this Traditional for my find # 4478

Day 1 of MegaGOM boating and tree fishing expedition with **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Purplepeopleater** and an anonymous local.
Raced from the airport to meet up with the local captain and tour guide. He had already launched the MV GRUMPY so all we had to do was get in and enjoy the ride. Actually, there was a bit more involved and by the end or our trip we were well acquainted with mud, trees, yaks and the inner workings of an outboard motor.

Came to sunny Qld with a few geopals and met up with a colourful local for 3 days of water ports, tree fishing and a variety of other cache-finding pursuits. Day 1 saw the relaunch of MV Grumpy and a couple of yaks to keep it company. Much puzzle-solving and crosschecking preceded the trip to exercise mind as well as body. Logs signed with the space-saving enigmatic anagram “megagom”, in memory of previous exploits. Thanks Brislions
Up in Brisbane for a 3 day aquatic cache epic.

Being a public holiday in Brisbane for the Ekka, what better to do than to break out the yak for its maiden 2023 voyage. The geo wife was keen for a come along given there were some nice walking tracks and a spot to park off under a tree and read.
Loaded up the yak and all the gear and got to the boat ramp just before a
11am. Set up and pushed off with TOTT in tow for a day of picking up some caches that have been on the radar for some time.
Water was nice and flat and temperature perfect, caches were found safe and sound and in great Nick. All signed and returned safely.
Got back around 3pm with really sore arms and shoulders.
Maybe overdid it a bit I think.
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available for fellow cachers to log.
Cheers.

Out for a paddle with Konie. This was the first cache of the morning. It was quickly spotted and retrieved. With our names added to the log and the cache returned to its spot, we continued on our way. TFTC
I met up with Selva Girls today to go for a paddle and grab a few caches on the river. It was a rising tide so we had plenty of time to enjoy the paddle to our furthest point then return. Once at GZ the cache was soon retrieved, log signed and all returned as found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

Thanks Brislions for the fabulous trad with a fabulous D/T.
A plan was made to go for a paddle to collect some caches from Strathpine to Murrumba Downs with chamad and Nathan. Additionally a carefully thought out car shuffle plan was executed with a vehicle taken to our end point to transport us and our kayaks back to the start point. With all 3 of us ready to embark we set sail from Bob Bell Park.
We had a great time collecting caches along the way, and celebrated the completion of Nathan's 2nd loop while we were at it. Everything went according to schedule .... until we landed at the other end where we quickly realised our getaway vehicle's keys were back at Strathpine!! Hmmmm.......
Anyway, back to caching ... all but one of the caches on my list was found in good condition.
Thanks Brislions for a puzzling puzzle and the cache.

I (minus Alyce) had the pleasure to join Chamad and Willis007 for a morning caching expedition on the Mighty Pine. It’s been a while since I’ve been on the water and if I remember correctly the last time was when Alyce got burnt to a crisp, literally! So I didn’t risk it and covered myself head to toe.
We set sail from Bob Bell Park just before 8am and went full steam ahead towards Murrumba Downs while nabbing some very useful caches with some very attractive DTs. We had a fantastic time exploring the waterways and grabbing a decent haul of caches along the way.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Quite surprisingly I found my way out on the water here after wags called and I hatched a plan to get a few.
An early lunchtime finish, and some organisation with 2 kayaks and wella...we were on the water.
These ones were added after burgo and I had some fun around this area.
Wind was quite blowy when we launched, and the water was quite choppy.
Cheers BL

Awesome adventure once again. We have missed paddling on this river very much, and seeing these hides was a great incentive for us to get out and get the arms moving again with the paddles.
We spent a couple of days with E Smiley, making our way through various places on this river and various creeks along the way.
We loved every minute of this and miss it when we are not here.

Catching up with the Bug for a paddle. This area was chosen given to recent solves the Bug had not done and anything else for me was just a "bunus". A late avro launch and a highish tide saw us making good speed. The wind later dropped which made for some loverly reflections. The Tree Fishing Jedi was on form and we worked our way around. TFTC
Out and about today to keep on with a personal challenge I have set myself. Along with another challenge that I signed but not yet logged in Victoria. The multi a day challenge is proving to be a challenge alright, but I seem to be getting a few here and there. While I have a few gaps, I can plan my days, then I can fit in all my other activities, yes it’s possible.
Now this multi I had seen a while ago but left it for “one” day, turns out today is that day. With a couple of other caches in the area and a new FTF it seems it is a good reason.
I got out the kayak and headed off, I went past the FTF, past the multi final and got to the trad. I hooked that one and worked my way back to the multi. I hooked that one and headed to the puzzle final. I was using the outgoing tide to help with paddling and searching. I found a nice little eddy out area where I could use my pole and stay in position.
Thanks for the fun I had at this one, a very nice paddle around and an easy find. I signed the log and replaced all as found, the log was a little damp.

A plan was hatched… that involved Davinells, a Swede and a boat to tackle some of the water caches (hence the boat) around Tinchi Tamba…
Having picked up #4 it seemed logical to collect this one too… Even at high tide-ish there was room to alight and retrieve the container…
Thanks Brislions … now about #5…

Out for an awesome day on the water with karicka and Peppa in a much faster vessel than when we were last on this river.
After claiming the FTF just up river we continued on to this cache. JDavs spotted it on approach and Peppa jumped overboard to do fishing duties.

Out in the tinny on the mighty Pine River.
As the tide was still rising we headed this way first, going for the more narrow channels at a higher tide.
Davinells spotted the cache before we even touched the shore
Then you for this cache

Our crabbing with the middle husband Had to get on solid ground for this one. Nice and easy grab wth the TOTT. TFTC.
I was lucky enough to be on a cache placing and maintenance run with the CO for this one. Great place for a paddle. Thank you Brislions, for filling up the river ??

Some solo time today - a very enjoyable paddle, collected a few caches like this one. Took ages to spot this one - by then I was halfway up the tree, so continued on and made this one a treeclimb instead.
Thanks Brislions for entertaining me at this location.

Yes! Another 4.5/5 for our stats! This one was good fun as Mrs STW (at least) got to stretch her legs and stand on dry land while retrieving the cache, though was somewhat nervous at standing under the tree! We were also pretty impressed that this landing spot, along with most of the places we pulled up to the bank today, was firm underfoot. This was our final find for the day- thanks for another great cache, Brislions.
The good news is that the tide had fallen and a beach was exposed. The bad news was I had to paddle back against the tide.... Managed straight down and up with this one, sometimes it is almost like I know what I am doing. Would have liked to have picked up the wherigo as well for our 3rd loop but it looked out of action. THanks for an entertaining morning on the water Brislions.
Spotted this cache quite quickly. Luckily our pole could reach it and we now have our name in the log.
Thank you Brislions.
Thank you Brislions.
Today I had the pleasure of accompanying DisSister on a kayak adventure to complete her 4th D/T loop, almost a year to the day after we went out together to complete her first. So proud of her It was a bit of a worrying start, with higher winds than predicted, and the river positively racing along, but after we struggled across the river into the creek, it was much more manageable. It wasn’t long before we’d arrived at GZ, where DisSister, ably assisted by her support crew, successfully retrieved the cache and happily ticked off her 4th loop!

The wind was a little strong and the river was moving with speed when we arrived at Acacia Park to launch our kayaks. This cache, however, filled the last spot on my 4th loop of the D/T grid and I really wanted to complete it before the end of the year as I had finished my 1st loop at this same time last year. The decision was made to give it a go so we hit the water and paddled madly across. Once we were in the South Pine, the winds dropped and the tide assisted our travels nicely towards GZ. It didn’t take long to reach the tree and the cache was spotted after a short search. TOTT deployed whilst Mr DisSister provided some kayak stabilization and soon the cache was in hand. To celebrate, we decided to head down Four Mile Creek and add a few more finds to the day. Thanks Brislions
I decided to head out and about with Duppers today, while I was supposed to be working. (Don't tell the Boss, haha.)
We headed here to try to clear up some holes in our grid. The day didn't start as planned.
(Then my phone decided to play up during this outing, so I had to blindly follow Duppers along the river. There was a lot of yelling of distances and bearings between us. Then the search was on.)
That didn't stop us from having a successful day.
The cache has been retrieved , signed and returned to it's resting spot.

First day of Christmas Holidays for me and I’m on a mission to complete my first DT grid. These caches on the South Pine River have been on my list for a while, and today was the day. High tide was at 9:30, so I drove down from the Sunny Coast and met my buddy Shazzar66 for a morning on the water. Whilst Shaz had done many of these with the CITO Mob earlier in the year, there were a few she didn’t have, so she was happy to join me. The plan was to go to the most distant first, then make our way back and forth, collecting caches.
This was the farthest from the Barungwarra Boat Ramp, but was actually our second find, as i couldn’t read my phone screen very well in the sunlight and couldn’t see a small strip of land that stopped us from getting through here. Easy find, and not too hard to fish for. TFTC Brislions

Since my last paddle here, there have been a lot of caches published in this section of the river, including a few cherished DT combinations that would give me my next DT loop.
So I put the call out to some Bromance caching team mates to see who was interested. SeffnJarah and DeznJez both put their paddles up and honorary Bromanceketeer, ChloeBZ also joined us.
Another target for another DT loop. I think this is number 6. It was time to let ChloeBZ loose with my fishing pole. There are a lot of laughter and suggestive advice from onlookers as she got my big pole erect and collected this one. Having signed "Bromance" into the logbook, it was time for Chloe to get my pole up again and put the cache back. Many thanks Brislions.

I've spent far too long recently, festering in front of the computer, while I plan my geocaching for an upcoming overseas trip in the New Year. When Crookedpete floated (pardon the pun) idea of heading out for a bit of kayaking on the Pine River, I jumped at the opportunity to give myself a decent dose of vitamin D and some exercise in the process.
Crookedpete, JezNDez and I were all after the same particular couple of caches to complete respective loops of the DT grid, and this was the last of the important pair, hot on the heels of each of us going up a DT loop on the previous cache. Again the marching band and trumpets heralding the uptick of our numbers were missing. Must be reserved for more important cachers than us . TFTC

The sun is out and the tide is high so I decided to go for a kayak. This was quickly spotted. I retrieved it and returned it to the same spot with little trouble. Thanks Brislions for placing this cache

I had an invite from Brislions to join him for a paddle and put out a cache or two. I had a new SUP I wanted to try out so this was a great opportunity. Spent the morning paddling up and down this stretch of the river and eventually met up with Peppa and Davinells to finish off the morning paddle.
Congratulations to Davidwazza and Georode on their first to finds.
