Logs
I was heading down to Taupo to take part in the Taupo Ultramarathon, running 24km from Kinloch to Waihopai Bay on the W2K mountain bike trails. I left a couple of days earlier for some geocaching while I was in the area.On my way back to Auckland after my run and decided to venture around the lake to find the ad lab here and the other caches. Saw that this was disabled but that there had been finds, so I decided to give it a search while I was passing by. Had no issue locating the cache, but the log book was very wet and slimy so I couldn't sign it.
In town for work. Time for a stroll in lunch break. GPS took me straight to it. Its definitely still there and findable. Just needs a dry logbook. Signed as per pic. Many thanks
Following information from find today, we will take it down to replace log book and update container as sounds as if water has gotten in. Will put it back up in a week or two
The flax bushes arent that young any more. Didnt take too long to find cache. Unfortunately container and log wet. Managed to carefully write on log. Tftc
Found by buzzybb near Yoghurt container. Very wet. Tried to dry it. Could write on it if careful. Put inside Yoghurt container for protection.
TFTC! We found the cache, however it was lying on the ground out in the open and container was not the described colour. The logbook was intact and in good condition however the trackable was also missing. We have placed the cache back in a hiding spot next to the where the cache was found. EuanMcF12, if you would like to know exactly where and how we placed the cache, message us.Cheers.
Visiting family in Tok and it was a dot day. So broke away to take Mum and Nanna on a quick drive to here. They enjoyed the nearby seat while I did a bit of scoping between muggles. Found after a small search. Thanks for the cache when needed EuanFC12. It's a gorgeous day so a lot of people out enjoying Easter Sunday sunshine. Good day to do this one, enjoyed it.
Only two days to go before we fly back. Finishing up in Taupo and then start making our way back to Auckland.TFTC Wilbert67
We are visiting New Zealand from Australia with Wilbert67.We have seen some new interesting places and picking up caches along the way.Thank you to all the COs for their hides
Stopped to look for this cache whilst doing the Lake Moananui Adventure Lab. Started looking in the wrong vegetation, the sharper stuff, initially. In the real flax the cache was a reasonably quick find. Very pleased that it was! #7021. TFTC.
We detoured off the main path, while completing the adventure lab around the park. We are not fans of flax hides, but we were fortunate to find the cache in the first flax we searched. Thanks for your recycled cache hide.
We took a break from driving from Auckland to Taupo to stretch our legs and find a few caches and to do the nearby Ad-Lab.Found after a short search. T4tC EuanMcF12,Civvnr&MissTreadlightly....(UK) Geocaching.com finds so far 11352
#13,853. I was driving north to Auckland today to join my family on holiday. They have flown up as they don't like road trips, especially ones where frequent stops for geocaches are involved. I do like that type of road trip so was enjoying the cruise north listening to music and stopping for any caches I felt like doing along the way. This was one of them. I stayed in Tokoroa a year or so ago and pretty much cached out the area. So each time I pass through I try and pick up any new ones. Saw a pair of coots with 3 tiny chicks in the stream below the bridge. Flax hunts are not normally my favourite option but it was a quick find here today. Good use of old household containers although yoghurt pottles are not watertight. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Happy New Year EuanMcF12.
Heading home from Auckland to Hawkes bay. Stopping to grab a couple of quick caches.Rather over grown in this area. Glad we choose the right spot to search and it was dry. Imagine it be quite boggy here in winter.Thank you EuanMcF12 for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 5010
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are on the road again, up "North" to visit family an friends. Today was time to head off to visit family, which we are looking forward to.Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
Hi all
Sorry have disabled this until we can replace the container again as it has been disturbed/

Always nice to find a regular. Quick find and sign whilst doing a lap of the lake. Dropped a TB that wants to visit Commonwealth countries I think this is the first stop outside of Australia. TFTC
Out caching with xsaveya today a lovely walk had to stop and play on the play ground as we went by. A quick find here today before many muggles past us by
Doing the Adlab we passed this one and I spotted the well hidden cache. No workmen around today and not boggy. TFTC

In the area collecting the newly placed Ad Lab and so couldn't go passed these caches. A lovely evening here and plenty of muggles about enjoying the area, thankfully none nearby so the cache was soon located and it was on to the next one. TFTC

Found on our way back to Auckland. Lovely park and walk. Lof pretty damp as bag wet inside. TFTC
What a lovely area to wander around.
Mrs rattll is camped up near by while mr rattll has headed off to Auckland for the weekend.
It took a little bit of searching for, whilst being weary off muggles coming and going, but I found it eventually.
Thanks for setting this up

Thanks so much for the cache. It’s a drizzly summer afternoon, family caching, one of the boys found it, it is exciting as it is our 200th cache find! Horray! The log is a little wet, might need a reseal.
Planting is a bit overgrown these days. Thanks for getting us out walking the loop track.
Found it but it was very wet. The container must have a hole in it. Needs some maintenance.
Over in this area to meet some people..had a few spare minutes to look for this cachesoon found the hide thanks EunMcF12 for the cache..but I am puzzled as to why there is only one undated signature in the log yet many other caches have found it
This is the second dnf avenged for me today. We detoured here to look again today. The cache was found quickly in a spot previously searched. What was puzzling though wad that there was only one signature in the logbook ( it did have the COs name on the front. Just happy to find this one. Thanks for the placement
A new cache in Tokoroa! Fantastic as we don't have very many here.
This is a beautiful spot on the edge of town.
Log book a bit damp but I found it after couple minutes, thanks for placing!

{FTF}… With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… Taking the ‘long’ way home tonight.
We noticed this new cache yesterday and intended on driving over then. Sadly, a longish meeting kept us at work later than expected, so our plans were dashed! Today seemed like a much better proposition. As soon as we were able, we phoned Gap and synced our meet up and headed for the hills…
We’ve been to this end of Lake Moananui Reserve a few times through the years. There have been one or two former caches in the area… We stepped into ground zone and spotted the cache quickly. Surprise! We are the first visitors to sign the logbook.
Gap - having the furthest to travel home, left soon after. But I took my time and wandered up the path for a short walk. I spotted a young man on a scooter approaching. When he ducked into the plantings, I figured him to be the CO - coming to check on his handiwork. It was really neat to meet a polite and enthusiastic young cacher! Well done on your first placement and thanks for adding to the game. Thanks EuanMcF12 and TFTC.
