Loving all the birdsong on this lovely walk. I was a bit bemused to be looking for a sea lion here, but all came clear when we finally got there! Obviously I wasn't the one holding the GPS, just the one acting on instructions. Great cammo - earns (our last) fave point from us Cache is all good . TFTC

A small group of us from team SEAC (Keylev, Stik-a-crane & Uncle Sam) came down this way for the weekend. Neat to have walks like this so close to town. With intel from the campground owner about walking times we decided we could easily do this before dusk. A quick find following the hint. Spotted from the track. Signed SEAC to save space. TFTC.

Another good hint to aid in the location of the cache...nice piece of camo to boot....Was down this way with Keylev, HeMaLuDy, and UncleSamNZ, for a quick 2day trip to the Galatea foot hills, we had an earlyish, start from Auckland, our little group decided to take another stop here to continue the cache finding.Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space.TFTC.Razz

Weekend away with my geocaching buddies from Team Seac. Took a drive down to Whakatane on Saturday and did the Bird Walk trail, then went to Galatea and did the foothills trail...that was a long 20 km's return trip...but got most of the caches. Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches. We had a great few days exploring the area. All logs signed "Team Seac" or "Seac" Smile

I am really enjoying this walk. The track and bush are quite different from the coastal side. I looked but not at the right level. Really laughed at the placement. Thanks for bringing us here, geckoh.

This was my last find for this trail on this trip. I have already found some further on but also wanted to keep some for the next time I am here visiting my hometown.

A scared some other walkers as they walked by, I was quietly signing the log and they didn't notice me until they were level and got a shock lol

I waited for them to pass before putting the log back.

Thanks for the cache.

With Mum and nephew… Mum reckons she hasn’t been anywhere in months. It was a reasonably fine Sunday for a drive, so let’s go exploring. The Eastern Bay was looking particularly good…

This was only meant to be a flying visit, but I couldn’t help myself. I wandered up to the fourth cache on the Bird Walk… The hint really narrowed the playing field, and the cache was a good find. It pained me to turn back here, but I knew I’d already pushed my luck. I met Mum on the trail as I walked out… Thanks Geckoh. TFTC.

Woke up to a lovely morning after days of rain
Decided a good walk was needed and I wasn’t disappointed. The bird walk is a beautiful walk, yes lots of steps buts lots of bird song and beautiful bush. No problems with this one. So nice to be out doing it TFTC

After such an eventful cache yesterday, today's was very straightforward.
The sun was still shining as the day headed into evening. Mr rattll could hear the wekas calling to each other, which made for a very pleasant walk.
Thanks for setting this trail up. It is much appreciated.

FTF) 10/10 What a walk, thought it was going to be a breeze, but not so. Very excited to get all 10 as FTF’s. Gap had to do the one off the beaten track while I sat and got my breath back from climbing all those stairs., and detour bridge had me a little confused but found it okay. All cache locations and descriptions all good. Amazing bird life here, even said hello to a weka. SLYFTCaches
