In New Zealand we are now driving over the mountains to our next destination. ????Here we enjoy the landscape.??On the way we stop for a good view or for a cache.????Many thanks to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
Found after our Salt Lake / schist circular walk with Gazania Rigens and Wombatwandering as per their logs.TFTC
Rattll and I are continuing our holiday in the South Island after the completion of GeoToroa in Dunedin. Today, we're heading from Brighton Beach to Middlemarch, aiming to pick up as many solved mysteries as possible, and to visit the Sutton Salt Lake.Paused to find this one at Sutton. All good in the container. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
Having had a busy geocaching weekend in Dunedin, at the MEGA, matagouri and I are now continuing on with our holiday 'road trip'.On our way to Sutton salt lake, for the last of my targeted 'oldie' caches, and what a beautiful day for a walk!Found after a bit of a search. Thanks for putting this here
A quick stop here before heading back towards Dunedin. Found quickly and signed in the car as it had started to rain a bit. TFTC!
It started to rain just as we made it to the car at the lake which was good timing. Stopped off at this cache and we sent Zouavesauvage out to do the fining in the rain. Thanks!
Down from Whangarei to attend the GeoToroa Mega and the most important cache on my to do list was the old one nearby, as it would complete my NZ Jasmer and Ausmer grids .... ????The weather was decidedly damp and cold yesterday and again this morning, but a look at the weather map, suggested a drive NW from Dunedin might get us into some better conditions. And so it turned out - just light occasional drizzle and 9 degrees, which was better than the rain and 7 degrees in Dunners. After success on the oldie, returned along the road to this one which was a nice quick find. TFTC
After leaving Sutton Salt Lake we noticed that the other cachers that we had met there had stopped near this one so,we stopped as well and joined the hunt. The cache was quickly located.TFTC Natalie247
I had just driven Crew 153 and Pprime to get the nearby old Sutton Salt Lake cache. We decided to drop into this one. It was nice to catch up with Ruru_nz's group again. We soon found the cache and signed the log. Another great little spot for a cache. TFTC Natalie 247
Day 2 on my Geo Toroa Mega trip. A side trip to Middlemarch today. We will see what the weather brings as apparently there has been recent snow... A quick stop to make thef find just as a car load from Aussie that we met at Sutton Lake stopped. Thanks for the cache Natalie247# 4024 27 October 2024 11:27 am
We are four ladies from Sweden who are visiting Australia and New Zeeland We are logged as TULP This was one of the caches we found Thanks from Sweden
We are four ladies from Sweden on visit in New Zealand. We log as TULP (tigertassen, ursus67, lnganfans and pidjas). Today we took a tour from Dunedin to an old cache. Very nice. After that we walked around in Dunedin.A big thank you to CO for the cache.
Four Swedish ladies driving around in NZ looking for caches. We log as TULP. Thank you.
Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand .On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland
Day 1 of my 6 day trip to Dunedin to attend the Mega and clean up all the puzzle caches solved over the last few years. Todays journey took us from the airport via some of the new DT 81 puzzles to Middlemarch and then back to Dunedin. All caches done today were with Bruzie. Apologies for the generic logs. Thanks for all the puzzles, caches, find, frustration and enjoyment. Quick find hanging near the gate.. Not much left of the stone cottage now.
This is day one of my Dunedin Mega trip, the first time I've ever been here before (never mind geocaching). Obviously with such a plethora of caches to find there's going to be plenty I'll skip but I hope to find my targets. Unfortunately logging is going to be generic, but thank you to all the cache owners and event organisers for the things you do.Interesting relic. All good here, and thank you to Natalie247 for the placement of your Traditional Cache.Find #7196 at 24 October 2024 3:28pm
This find was similar to the rest in that we have seen no one so was able to park and make the find without arousing any suspicion.
Day out with gdkja looking for a few geocaches. Many they have found previously. All good here. Slippery little fella. Tftc
Logging a find here out of order so people tracking my trip progress know I'm still alive. More later
Today I left Dunedin for a trip inland to Sutton Salt Lake, where there is an old cache from December 2000. And you can't deny that. After all, it was probably my easiest hunt for an old cache ever. The walk along the circuit in the nature reserve was beautiful, but it was quite hot 31C and the sun was strong. But I was all alone and felt like Frodo Baggins from The Lord of the Rings. The landscape is beautiful and I really enjoyed the trip. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czech republic.
Today I shifted my snail shell from Woodhaugh to Middlemarch to hunt down a few more caches in the area since I was here a few years ago.I detoured off the main drag on my way back to home to sign this one off.Cheers for the cache, Natalie247.
# #7,059 #----------After heading back to the car, I decided to drive back to Dunedin but not before stopping and getting this C+D nearby. So many times Ive jumped out the car, signed and driven off within roughly two minutes back home so this wasnt too difficult at all. TFTC!!! ----------> All geocaches are signed as mmmPIZZA or mPZ

During my visit in New Zealand I decided to go on a morning tour to find an old cache I could use in my Jasmer. After that was found I also found a few caches on my way back to Dunedin. This was one of them. TFTC. My find no. 8.205. The cache is dry and in good condition.
Day 6: The Road to OamaruTodays journey was a long one, bringing us from the South up to the northern part of Otago, via Middlemarch. Todays blustery conditions added to the fun and challenge of finding caches, though otherwise the weather remained perfect. The highlight of the day were the Sutton Salt Lake cache and the Moeraki Boulders, and both did not disappoint. Thanks to all the COs for making this leg of the journey an enjoyable one! (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache:A quick pick up on the way out from the Salt Lake. Interesting structures here, though it felt amiss to go poking about in what seems like private property. Cache was easily found as described in the hint. TFTC!
With several hours to kill between dawn and a 3pm pickup from the airport I decided a geocaching trip to Middlemarch to fill in the time. it's been a few years since I've been along this road. I wasn't too sure what the hint meant about between the gates. I just observed what was at GZ and found it at the second spot that I looked at. Thanks.
Was out here working nearby so had to grab this one for my attempt for the streak challenge this month. Quickly found. Cache in great condition.
Thanks for the cache, Natalie247

A bit of a shame that the old cottage was not restored, in fact it looks in quite a state, it seems at some stage they even painted over the stone, half of which has now worn off.
Cache was quickly found, on to the old one at Sutton Lake!

We are from Abilene, Texas, USA and have come to New Zealand to visit with a friend. We plan on going after different Cache Types while here. We will also find geocaches while going sight seeing. Today we are out with Bitsprayer and Drawp.
Thank you, Natalie247 for placing this cache for all to find. We sign log sheets either as Love Cachers or LCers.
Driving over 50 miles to have...
Rusty barbed wire ripping through your clothes...
Curious rattlesnakes that come out of nowhere...
Itchy mosquito bites on every inch of your body...
A 40 mph wind gust blowing sand into your ears, nose and mouth...
Cactus needles getting stuck deep in your hands, arms and legs...
Thorny Mesquite trees scratching you up from head to toe...
Some or all of these things on a hike through 101° heat...
To sign your name or trade a toy...
SOUND LIKE FUN TO YOU?

A quick find in view of the cottage. I liked the way the log sheet is contained. I have not seen this before. TFTC
Quick find on our way out to the salt lake. Beautiful area on a nice sunny day. Outside temperature is 11 degrees, according to the car.
FTF. I was riding on a dirt road up here just last week and noticed the remains of another stone cottage I hadn't previously known about. So obviously there's a lot of such remains around here. TFTC.
