This has to be one of the best places on the planet. Sure. No Eiffel Tower. Sure. No Grand Canyon. Sure. Its not the Canning Stock Route or Rubicon Trail. Sure, I guess its close to the 3 Sisters up Katoomba way. ButIts BloodySpecialA rock near a bigger rock in the middle of the Pacific which is the largest ocean on the planet Yeah. Special. And yeah. Youll need a shower when you get backSo cool to meet Kahlua14 and OzRob on their virgin geocaching endeavour. Possibly the best part of the walk. They know what we mean!! #7614 NI Day 5Joined a keen group of Aussie cachers, led by local geoGuide Endeavour3. An exceptional location for an earth cache with stunning views along the way. Gets a FP.Ducked off for a side trip to find the Bird Rock cache nearby and returned along the steep fence line to make my earth cache observations. Certainly got my exercise and was happy for a brief rest at the event before continuing to our Fish Fry dinner.TFTEC ruzzelz

I love ECs, and this is one of the best I've done. The views along the coast here are just superb. The landforms are different from some of the others around Norfolk Island. It was a tough walk from the Captain Cook Lookout, but it was worth it for the spectacular views. We took plenty of photos, but they don't do it justice. Answers sent on behalf of Cryptic8 and Brewmaker. Have a FP. TFTEC

Logged with permissionA great walk out with ADI. Came in from the south via the Heros and Settlers multi. What goes down needs to come up!Stunning views as you break the canopy about 100m out. Did a quick slippery trip to Bird Rock cache before heading back for more photos and soaking up the view and atmosphere. About a 90 min return trip at an easy pace. TFTCA fav pt

This was a brilliant walk in the National Park out to Bird Rock lookout. I followed the Bridle trail and then took the Red Stone Link Track. Quite a steep track on the way back especially in such high humidity. Outstanding views. I really love earthcaches, and love the interesting information provided.

Day 6 of my Norfolk Island adventure. I can understand why people want to live here . Its a little bit of paradise. I saved the hardest terrain caches in my opinion till last. But all come with a stunning view. Some logs signed as N2OThis is my 12130find.Thankyou ruzzelz for placing and maintaining this cache

We set out relatively early, knowing that the humidity can build up and get caught under the forest canopy. This is a great spot, and this cache finishes all Traditional and Earthcaches for me on Norfolk Island. My first ones were in 2017: thankfully new ones emerge each year. Answers will be provided within the timeframe once I get back to the mainland.

Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]Out for another day of caching up the north side of the island this time.Had some caches to collect around this area but Captain Cook Rd was closed for road works. That meant that we had to approach this one from other end via Red Rd and the Bridle Track. Not to worry we still had GEO business to do at the Captain Cook Monument and back here at Bird Rock, so off we set.Quite an amazing location, loved the giant kiwi RazzTFTC ruzzelz Cool

T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge Big GrinThis afternoon we took the walk to Bird Rock and Captain Cook's Monument. We parked at the car park at McLachlans Lane, headed north on Red Road Track, then Bridle Track to the Monument. On the return we detoured along Red Stone Link Track to Bird Rock, then up Bird Rock Track and Bridle Track and Red Road Track back to the car. All up about 3 hours 40 minutes, and gaining 5 smileys [^]It's an amazing site to see here. We spent quite a few minutes enjoying it and discussing the formations. TFTEC, ruzzelz.

Another day of adventures on Norfolk Island enjoying caching with Joolay, Contesta, Strange Trousers and iPlod. Day dawned wet for the walk but cleared up leaving a brisk wind. Pity about the closed road but rewarded with more great views on this side of the island. Interesting landforms along this coast. Tftc ruzzelz

# 8960 Norfolk Day 4, team "Dem CBR" myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had another fantastic day of caching and exploration. Another day of hard climbs starting with a trip to Bird Rock. It's a steep walk down there and even harder back up. The rewards were there withe great views and some whales to watch. Then we headed over to Cascade Bay to grab the caches over there. It's a rough path to cascades along the cliffs but well worth the trip.Answers sent to CO. Amazing place. Logs signed collectively "Dem CBR", which in local parlance is "them from Canberra".Thanks ruzzelz for the Earthcache

Find # 10473Day 4 in Norfolk, here for a week of caching fun with geofriends Joolay, barb2e, StrangeTrousers, and iPlod. Zoom zoom zooming around in Kermit (green not red) Logging as DEMCBR.Wild and wooly weather here again today This was such a magnificent spot for us today with a pod of orca whales just off the coast here at Erosional Landforms The Arch today. we watches the whales playing around for quite sometime before we decided it was time to trudge back up the hill. A longer walk these days as the road in is closed to vehicles and pedestrians Thanks so much for the many caches ruzzelz and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light

After dropping into Cockpit Falls a little earlier, this area was the focus of travels for Mrs. Gunnie and I today. Starting at the end of Red Road, we took the Bridle Track and made our way here, then traversed across to Captain Cook lookout and made our way slowly back to the start. I'll admit it's been a while between treks that have the terrain we encountered today. Semi-steep but relentlessly long in some parts. Surprised

A pleasant approach and a great view at GZ. Not really a surprise, I don't think there is anywhere on the coastline of this island that is not stunning. [^] I gleaned the answers to the all important questions, snapped the obligatory pics, then we enjoyed the area for a while before heading west.

Thanks for the E/C ruzzelz, we didn't thankyou for the tight legs a couple of days after the walk, but the location was well worth it. I'm adding a favourite for the view of the rock formations at GZ. Very cool. Big Grin

The day was spent touring the northern part of Norfolk Island geocaching style. We thought we would just drive to this location but soon realised we had to walk a hilly kilometre to get to GZ. The view was so worth it. Thank you for bringing us to this location and TFTC. Answers sent and permission to log granted. Favourite point from us.

What a walk and what a view. We weren't really prepared for the difficulty of it so the kids did it in thongs! They were suitably stuffed by the time we got there and then we told them we had to walk it back! (See photo).

Loved the birds and shouting out our whinges into the air.

Out for a meander down to captain cooks and it's always worth making the detour to bird rock. While here got the info to complete this earthcache. Thanks for the cache

I saw this rock last week when on a nearby cliff top. Today I came down and got answers to the questions. What a lovely spot. Later walked down towards Captain Cook and found another stack with a small long cave connecting from two sides, so making it an arch. Very fascinating.

TFTC,
What an amazing day. With the road to the Monument closed, we decided to undertake a walk along the Bridle track from the entrance to get 4 finds and an Adventure Lab WP.
An interesting EarthCache before starting the D4/T4 traditional.

Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.

Today was the Thanksgiving Day public holiday on Norfolk Island. We packed a some snacks & drinks and headed off to Captain Cook Lookout. At the entrance to the park we discovered the road was closed We turned around and headed to the Red Road entrance

Off we hiked down to the Bird Rock lookout where we enjoyed our snacks & drinks while I gathered the required information. Half way back up the hill Mrs e3 asks where the camera was Back down the hill to find it still sitting on the seat.

This is a great location for a earthcache on Norfolk Island Answers to the earthcache questions have been sent to the CO. A well deserved FP from me for this excellent earthcache.
