First smiley for 2023. Nice to catch up and swap war stories. TFTE and see you at the next one!
Happy to claim the first smiley for 2023! Nice to catch up again with the usual crew. Hope everyone’s new year is filled with lots of TFTC’s and not many DNF’s. Thanks for hosting I.C.C!
With all the events lately, including my own big CCE, the mojo just wasn’t in it to come up with an idea to host my annual NYD event to kick start the year. ICC to the rescue and I managed to tick off two souvenirs today with the one event… a guaranteed “Set Sail” smiley for a find/attend and 35 points to complete the current labyrinth (well four bonus lanterns helped get me over the line in 14 logs). With the event moving to a busier location, arrived early expecting parking issues but snaffled a spot less than 100m away and got the last remaining shelter not far from the posted co-ords while waiting for the company of good friends. They say “whatever you do on the first of January, sets a precedence for the year ahead”… bring it on with lots more smileys!
Can confirm I saw Hoojar and Claire arriving just as I drove off around 4.50pm... haha
A great late afternoon catch-up in a very busy spot. Our war stories of the previous night seem to be getting tamer and tamer as the years go on, that or we’re getting too old to party.
Thanks to all who attended.
Happy New Year

Happy New Year
After an uneventful night last night I decided to start the new year on an active note and do a park run followed by some first caching in this year, a couple of events and a bike ride. It will be almost impossible to beat last year's statistics, but you never know.

Went on a New Year's Day Adventure walking and pack rafting in Royal National Park. Had in mind I needed to be back by 5pm for this event. Turns out I was wrong by half an hour. Arrived at 4:55pm to find everyone already gone. Dammit!
While I've taken a year off hosting the traditional NYD smiley opportunity, I still intend to attend (if I'm in the area).
