Reperio 08:04The fourth and final day of caching around the Yass and Goulburn regions, and with a little time before needing to head home, I hit up some of the ones closer to town. While the fog was thick this morning, it soon lifted and it was fantastic to have some beautiful sunshine after 2-3 days of rain. With not a lot of movement around town this morning, most of the caches were found muggle free. A great day to be out caching. A sodium citrate tube! Used for coagulation tests like an INR, prothombin time, D-Dimer etcetera.Funny to see one of these in the wild, especially painted brown I didn't know if there was gonna be a sample inside. Thankfully it was just a logbook. A sample wouldn't go well out here in the heat and cold of Goulburn.Generic Summary of today:Did some logical loops of Goulburn before heading to challenge caches and the Towrang Stockade.Snack situation: Grabbed a Breakfast wrap from Cafe Grit and it was great! Had a hungry jacks mcflurry on the way home, it was essentially a cup filled with icecream with oreo dust overflowing. Had to stand outside of my car to eat the first half of it.Public toilets? Not today, had to do a bush wee.Munzee distractions: during breakfast near the Big Merino.Weirdos spotted: surprisingly noneAnimals spotted (alive): kangaroos, ducks, rozellas, magpies, crows, sheep, goats (both white domestic and multicoloured feral), horses, cows (all colours), and a camel!Weather: overcast, light sprinkles, pretty cool.My main aim of today was to get anything I'd solved, multis and letterboxes. Thanks to the cache owners and for the efforts they go to place and maintain these caches. TFTC!

Some caching around Goulburn today targeting, in part, the Periodic Table series. All were quickly found at GZ with good coordinates, although some logs are a little tatty from multiple retrievals, unrolling, logging and re-rolling.

Messaged Rapidlywild to see when her next RDO was and suggested taking today to attend the CITO and collect some caches around the Goulburn area. She was keen so one of the FFLL team took a TOIL day as well.

Lovely day for it although a little chilly and all caches were found and we were also given prior permission to replace if any were missing. Loved the number of tree fishing caches here they are a bonus. We were joined by fitzy_1965 for the remainder of our tour around Goulburn which was helpful.
Another one replaced...

Thanks for the hide my_name_jeff_1 and thanks for a fun day out Rapidlywild and company fitzy_1965.

22-May-23
Received a message from FFLL#1 about 2 weeks ago asking when my next RDO was at work, oh there is a daytime event on in Goulburn today? cool, so RDO was booked. We made our way up the highway and grabbed a couple caches prior to the event. We decided to start at the northern end of Goulburn and grab whatever we could throughout the day. We were joined by DSD before the event as we made our way across the mountain collecting caches we hadn't signed and post the event, we were joined by Fitzy. It was a great day out and about, the weather was wonderful and we had a lovely time, sure beats sitting in the office.

Now we had done the CITO, it was time to continue our adventures and we had Fitzy join us for the ride. Onto the next closest and this was the target. No issues at this one, signed and replaced for next finders.

Thanks for the cache placement and maintenance my_name_jeff_1 Big Grin and thanks for a super fun day out and about FFLL Big Grin

OCW sammybro19 whilst enjoying a nice drive around Goulburn.
We could not find the cache. However, we found two logsheets on the ground at GZ. After SL we tucked the logsheets into the designated location as per the hint. After going to the next cache which also seemed to be missing, we wondered whether the 2nd logsheet had come from there. This is about the 5th cache in this series where we have found only the logsheet. Is someone targeting these caches and stealing the cache containers?

And now, ASAP Science presents:
The elements of the Periodic Table!

[Verse 1]
There's Hydrogen and Helium
Then Lithium, Beryllium
Boron, Carbon everywhere
Nitrogen all through the air
With Oxygen so you can breathe
And Fluorine for your pretty teeth
Neon to light up the signs
Sodium for salty times
Magnesium, Aluminium, Silicon
Phosphorus, then Sulfur, Chlorine and Argon
Potassium, and Calcium so you'll grow strong
Scandium, Titanium, Vanadium and Chromium and Manganese

[Chorus]
This is the Periodic Table

Each period will see new outer shells
While electrons are added moving to the right

[Verse 2]
Iron is the 26th
Then Cobalt, Nickel coins you get
Copper, Zinc and Gallium
Germanium and Arsenic
Selenium and Bromine film
While Krypton helps light up your room

Niobium, Molybdenum, Technetium
Ruthenium, Rhodium, Palladium
Silver-ware then Cadmium and Indium
Tin-cans, Antimony then Tellurium and Iodine and Xenon and then Caesium and

[Bridge]
Barium is 56 and this is where the table splits
Where Lanthanides have just begun

Promethium, then 62's
Samarium, Europium, Gadolinium and Terbium
Dysprosium, Holmium, Erbium, Thulium

Geocaching with IamCoust south east of collector all the way to Goulburn. Stopped twice by curious muggles, one with a possible shotgun in the car, as for the caches, most ok, some damp and some un-signable. A fun cold day out driving these country roads. TFTC

Out for a few caches around Collector on a cool and windy day with Green-Martian. Most were found without issue but a good number of logs were damp or worse. Log signed and replaced before moving onto the next. Any details of note or interest added to the end log. TNLNSL TFTC

A trip to Goulburn to pick up some newer caches. A bit windy, but otherwise a good day. All caches, bar one, found OK. Thanks

25-Jan-23
After finding out that I wasn’t needed for work today, I decided on heading to Goulburn for the lunchtime CITO. However, before I arrived I went on a cache finding spree. I managed to get quite a few quick and easy finds of the Elements series plus a few others which have been on the to-find-list. Once it was getting close to event time, I went and got KFC for lunch. The event was a small crowd this time with only the CO, Minniek, Toy Hunters, Sebass19 and myself. A few bags of rubbish was filled. Afterwards, Toy Hunters, Sebass19, myself with the assistance Fitzy_1965 went to find some more caches which required some very special TOTT’s. At 2pm, I headed off from them to go home but not before finding three more caches before the drive home. It was a great day. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. Big Grin TFTE & TFTC’s! Big Grin

Now that I'm in Goulburn, I've decided on going after the caches in the elements series. A nice quick find at GZ for this one and soon I was off to the next one.

After a great event last night the weather was turning and I considered driving home, but hey I drove all the way out here, might as well stay the night and see how this morning was going to be. It certainly started of wet, but still doable for caching. Made my way from Goulburn to Yass via a lot of detours. On my way back home now, again picking up loose ends.

14-Dec-22
Today's activities started with a work lunch, probably my last Christmas work activity. This was a fun time and it was fun to see a few people I had not seen since April. Next it was time to get on the road to Goulburn. It was a nice clear day, but very windy. I did three caches off the federal highway before settling in to a handful of Periodic table caches. The evening was a chance to attend the two events, and see a new cache get placed.

I enjoyed by trip around the edge of Goulburn visiting a selection of the ground based elements caches. All were found in good condition today.

Thanks for the cache my_name_jeff_1
