Mega day, so lots of geocaching to be done so it lives up to its name. Started with some of the D/T series out west, then a bit of the plane geoart, and finally finishing the albatross. Weather did not help, but largely did not hinder today, so we will take what we get. TFTC!

Day 3 of my whirlwind visit to New Zealand.Today I teamed up with barb2e, SmittenGranny, Joolay, Kittykatch, GrimRaider and Icybeetas. We signed the caches as ACD (Australian Cachers in Dunedin) and went out on the Otago Peninsula. We had done a lot of puzzle solving in the months up to the GeoToroa Mega. Today's weather was variable and not as wet as yesterday. TFTC

27-Oct-24
At last, the day of the Dunedin Mega dawned, and most of the Aussie crew from Canberra met up early this morning. After enjoying friends' old and new company, we completed the Gadget caches. Then it was off to finish the Albatross series, which we had worked on for weeks in preparation for our visit, as well as a few other targeted caches along the way. Thankfully, the weather was much kinder to us today, and to cap it all off, we found every cache we tried for. Please excuse the generic logs. The caches were all great and in excellent condition, especially considering the weather that Dunedin has been experiencing. All caches were signed as ACD, Australian Cachers in Dunedin, which included Isopeda, barb2e, Kittykatch, Joolay, Grimraider, Icybeetas and myself. After signing duties were completed, the caches were rehidden where found. All COs are to be congratulated on their contributions to our game. Thanks for the cache Wilbywarrior.

Reverse W3W (Otago)Dunedin MEGA Sunday! More great caches to be found while exploring the beautiful Dunedin. Joining forces with some Queensland comrades, we hit the road, collecting great caches along the way. Signing our logs QLD + 1 to save room, we were pleased to see most of the caches had been recently maintained and enjoyed a great variety of hides and types.A massive thank you to all of the COs for the preparation, placement and maintenance of these caches. TFTC Wilbywarrior# 10663CheersWillis007

Out on a rainy Sunday with Nosynel and MacPacMum. It was very wet when we were here but we had heard it was hard to spot from our friends. So all of us got out and looked, getting wetter by the minute. I had overheard BP describing to LW where it was after they chatted with the CO earlier. Fortunately we did find it. Hooray. Back to the car with heater on full bore to dry out. Thanks, Wilbywarrior.#10783

Out and about after the Mega with Willis007 (part of the group QLD+1) finding solved puzzles and multis and other targeted caches. Took a little while to find. Logbook signed and replaced as found. Tftc

Third time lucky for us. CO gave us explicit detail which helped find the cameoed beastie!! TFTC ( I think)

27-Oct-24
Bumped into Busypaws and Lyttleton Witch again. This was tricky to find. Thanks so much for maintaining and creating this hide Wilbywarrior.

26-Oct-24
Matchwood and I had a long discussion on where to start the measurement from which led to searching a much larger area (or should I say volume) than necessary. The cache was too well hidden to find without a nudge from a PF. TFTC.

Down in Dunedin for the Mega. Great to be back for another Mega 12 years after NZ's first Mega here in 2012. Finding a few caches with Boxhill and having a few laughs on the way.Despite the apparently specific hint, this still took a bit of searching before I noticed it right in front of us all along. Thanks to the team for putting on a great Mega weekend, and also to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches.TFTC Wilbywarrior

We are in Dumedin for the Mega and this is one of our targeted caches TFTC

another solved Albatross ! We came down to Dunedin for the great Mega event - which was really good ! - and had had several days either side , for caching up either side of the harbour and other caches around about . It was a shame that the High cliff road has been subject to the weather patterns and heavy rain and blocked the road . T he Weather either side of the mega was reasonable, but both the saturday and the sunday were rather wet . . sadly. there are so many caches all around this area so even after 5-6 days of caching there are still hundreds of caches to be found . With so many caches some get lost in a bit of a fog . We took nothing and left nothing here . Thank you for this cache .

Visiting Dunedin from Wellington for the Labour Weekend mega with JustlookingOO and ThatDarnBear from Christchurch, who kindly offered to do all the driving. We'd solved these very enjoyable Albatross puzzles in preparation for the weekend, with some being a lot easier than others! The puzzle was a relatively straightforward solve, but finding the cache was another story. We spent quite a while looking and puzzling over what exactly the hint meant, and looking at earlier logs. Eventually we resorted to PAF, who confirmed what we'd been thinking and we just needed to do one thing, and there it was. As we were putting the container back, NZ Di and KiwiMykl arrived, so it was good to meet them. Most logs today were signed as Team Trio to save space and cover the three of us.Thanks Wilbywarrior for the Albatross puzzles, challenges and caches, which I really enjoyed solving, mostly completing, and finding! I've really enjoyed coming to Dunedin, which is not a place I'd visited before, other than driving through once, about 27 years ago.

#15,309. Flew into Dunedin today to attend the Mega event this weekend. I am geocaching with geobuddy Infoferret. After picking up the rental car we headed out out to grab as many as we could today while the weather was still warm and sunny. We ended up with a good haul of 47 caches. Heading out to get some puzzle finals on the Peninsula. Stopped to find this one. There was already a carload searching when we arrived. I checked the right spot at least three times but did not see it. The hint was very specific. Good to see I am not the only cache blind person on the planet. The others struggled until finally someone saw it from the other side. About 30cm from my nose. Hmmm. Oh well signed and replaced as found. Thanks Wilbywarrior for the cache.

Talla64 and I are down from Kapiti attending the Mega. I suggested we do the Albatross geo-art series while we are down here, and Talla thought it a good idea. The puzzles are great and fun to solve, although I needed help with 2 or 3 of them. I apologise for this generic log but would like to thank Willbywarrior for this great series which took us to some beautiful areas in Dunedin. In fact plans are afoot to return next year as there is so much to see, and the 5 days we spent here were simply not enough. The Mega was a very successful event which Talla and I enjoyed very much. Thank you Wilbywarrior for everything.

**102/36/102pt** Clockwise on wing Albatross geoart Something different to the FTF I got when the Southerners hadn't struck that type before. So it did take a second look to realize what to do. Certitude checker Green 35/103 Red which grew whilst looking at the page; 49/128; 50/130 plus a few more before exploding to 112/212 as the Mega'24 punters load their PQ's. Making for the GZ from the quieter pathway where we had parked, some drastic changes had pooh pooh'd our search coming up short of searching felled branches for a micro. Paf sent off to the CO after the Mint team had banged it and logs continued a couple of months later after the break of anyone logging it and some revisitors returning for their eyed smilies. *Do as I say, not as I do*. Vindicated come back to find small camo green bison with rusty splitring tucked away safe and sound. Generic RITR logscroll dry and ok. I'll blame it on the sunshine last time as hot weather is just for wrinkly old lizards dressed as lamb. Had a look along the cleared area before returning to the town car and away. There used to be an Albatross traditional cache over by the school carpark in [2005](https://coord.info/GCMF31) put down by Jnos lasting four years as tourists banged it. *100mt offset* TFTC WW

This was my fall back mystery for today's dot day. No trouble here. Very nice day for a winter bike ride although a bit of a head wind on my way home.

28-Jun-24
After an expedition with the Daywalks, they were planning to stop on the way home to sign a cache. Lucky for me this was one I hadn't yet found, so I took the opportunity to find and sign it with them. Thanks everyone!

28-Jun-24
We did a walk with spoonz2 today, back at the car before the rain arrived. This was the only puzzle unfound by both of us, so of course this was where we stopped on the way home. We had "prelocated" the cache during a bike ride (i.e. Mrs D got flustered searching, Mr D casually looked around and pointed it out...) so a pretty fast find today. A lovely puzzle, especially appreciated because it helped solve a similar one in Rotorua!

About six weeks ago I came down to Dunedin for the first time since the last time I was here, and while I was here I noticed a puzzle geocache that hadn't ever been found, for over a year. So once I was back home I solved the puzzle and came down again this weekend to find it.Once that was done, I went off and found some more geocaches. Specifically those that made up the Albatross geoart, and I managed to find all of them. It was an excellent day's caching that I enjoyed very much. Especially good was the almost always spot on coordinates, good parking at most locations, and usually useful hints for those tricky hides (except the fake rock one, that wasn't so helpful). All good here, the cache was found safe and well, eventually, after I spent far too long searching on the other right.---Thanks to Wilbywarrior for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

A little tricky to find, but not too far off my route so I decided to come up, the little bike could almost handle it this time too! Happy to locate it and add another smiley to my list for the day. Thanks for the fun, it was a great day out caching!

When planing our vacation in NZ we spotted this nice Albatross Geoart. There still has been enough time to solve most of them but it has been quickly clear: we cannot visit them all. Time constraints did not permit that.Wilbywarrior recommended to take the peninsula side and this has been a very good advise. We have seen so many beautiful places and views from different angles. This was really great! And we found all (!) caches from our todo list on this side. Many thanks for this fun. We would love to come back again and complete the albatross but as well to further discover this nice place in and around Dunedin. Many thanks for the cache.

Out and about on day 9 of my South Island Tour and day 3 of "Wellingtonions Gone South: Dunedin Edition" with NZ_B, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri. The target of this day was cleaning up some of the peninsula. All logs signed as MINT. TFTC

20-Oct-23
(# 8320) The Wellington crew are on another mission. Included are Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, TwigNZ, Matagouri and TaybeeNZ. As usual quite a bit of hilarity. Day 3 was more centred on the Albatross series around the peninsula. Solved with a bit of help. Signed as MINT.Thanks Wilbywarrior for bringing me here.

20-Oct-23
A group of friends have traveled together to Dunedin to collectively target a whole bunch of caches, primarily because of their value in terms of Jasmer Grid filling, or for certain Challenge Caches that we have elected to try to achieve.M.M.I.N.T.T are Mr-Mcgoo, matagouri, Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, taybee nz and TwigNZ. Some logs were signed this way, some were signed as M.I.N.T for expediency, and some (mainly Challenge Caches) were signed with individual names.Day 3, and the main focus of our day would be hitting the Otago Peninsula where we hoped to find as many of the Albatross Geoart series, as well as some targeted caches for other esoteric reasons. The Hint struck me as being unusually precise, but it was appreciated once at GZ. Funny how 2 or 3 of us all looked there but it took an extra pair of eyes to make the find. All was fine with this cache and contents, and we soon added the team name into the log before replacing it all as found.Thank you for setting up this series for all to find.

20-Oct-23
Finding this cache required creative backing and parking but all was well as we found and logged the cache. As for solving, I got so far and stopped thinking outside the box until a friend gave me as hint. Favourite given for something different using W3W.Day 3 of The Wellingtonians are in Dunedin tour with TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri, as well as TaybeeNZ who decided to have a few days of his South Island tour with us. We are targeting specific caches -oldies, wherigos (thanks to the Seagnoids new caches on the Wainuiomata Hill road in Lower Hutt), a certain jet and hopefully a certain bird. Of course, there will be days of laughter, no doubt at my expense During our time here, all found caches were signed as MINT, regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 5 of us hadn't found it previously, or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Wilbywarrior.

20-Oct-23
Day 3 of our Dunedin Invasion with six welly cachers. We have lots of plans and caches to find - probably to many - but with many of the very targeted oldies now done, day 3 can be a bit more play. Today is the peninsula. Took four multiple eyes to find this one. The puzzle was a lot of fun - i got caught up in the over thinking. All logs signed as MINT.

20-Oct-23
A visit to Dunedin by Wellington geocachers NZ_B, Itchyfeet2020, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Taybee NZ, and myself. Signing as Team MINT, targeting old caches, Wherigos, and whatever else we can find. This was a fun solve, turned a commonly used tool on it's head. Parked up near GZ, quick find as per the hint. All good. Tftc!

08-Sep-23
Another neat puzzle. TFTC

08-Sep-23
What a great day in Dunedin, gabbing a few caches around the the place, 100% today no DNF, most unusual. Many Thanks - Bitsprayer

08-Sep-23
Found it quickly thanks to a very specific hint.
Just as I was signing the log, heard a little voice.. "sign our names too" Nice to meet bitsprayer and drawp who were out and about today enjoying our lovely Dunedin weather

06-Sep-23
Took a lot of searching for this one.

24-Aug-23
A nice little puzzle, which was soon solved, but although not really hidden, the cache took a wee while to spot, even with the precise hint. TFTC

15-Aug-23
What a great fun puzzle, today was the day to find you. Wow what a clever hide, tried many things even with the hint and then oh look. Mrs C was stoked to find this one. Thanks for the puzzle and cache Wilbywarrior.

I couldn’t see this for looking. Thank goodness for the clue. And I tried to make the puzzle harder than it was too - but it was enjoyable too, TFTC.
