Been a long time between visits to Dunedin. I wasnt able to do the MEGA there but managed to get things together and come down from Auckland for 5 days and 4 nights after the fact. On my own this visit, usually come with others, so rather quiet on my own this time around. Ive rented a small but great white Toyota Yaris and intend to get as many caches as I can. Day 2 of my adventure. I had to be careful here too, the ruts in the metal were deepish and I certainly6 didn't want to get the car stuck. Wasn't expecting magnetic, but there you are and there it was.
again im glad i have a small geomobile but at least there was a bit more space here, tftc
Located with RNZ & GKMLB We signed all our logs today with GRRM.Another quick find Day 3 of our Geo Mega roadtrip & today is the opening day. Weather was atrocious, Dunedin had really put on a wet, extremely cold & gray day. I had multiple layers but still couldn't stay warm!Our goals were pretty fluid as we had a full map to choose from, but we teamed up with GKMLB and settled on a trip to Port Chalmers picking up solved mysteries, qualified challenges, Ad Labs, Virtuals and the like on the way. Our return trip took the higher road and targeted the same sort of things, a lot of solved mysteries up there for us.This took us eventually back to Baldwin Street where we did the Ad Lab and bonus then eventually back to the event for the CITO where we called it a day.Thankfully Sandra my wonderful running friend I met in New York when we ran the marathon is the hostess with the mostest & spoiled us rotten when we got back TFTC
Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 13: The sun finally decided to come to the party, which made for a beautiful day for exploring the greater Dunedin area.A lovely photo, but difficult on the eyes. Was down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. We are four ladies from Sweden on visit in New Zealand. We log as TULP (tigertassen, ursus67, lnganfans and pidjas). Today we visited some oldies and logged solved mysterys. The weather was much better than yesterday. We even saw a glimpse of sun. Like yesterday we found a caf and had coffee with some cake. Not as cosy as the one yesterday. Then back to the event, a bit late due to some (minor?) problem with the car.A big Thank You to CO for the cache.
Talla64 and I are down from Kapiti attending the Mega. I suggested we do the Albatross geo-art series while we are down here, and Talla thought it a good idea. The puzzles are great and fun to solve, although I needed help with 2 or 3 of them. I apologise for this generic log but would like to thank Willbywarrior for this great series which took us to some beautiful areas in Dunedin. In fact plans are afoot to return next year as there is so much to see, and the 5 days we spent here were simply not enough. The Mega was a very successful event which Talla and I enjoyed very much. Thank you Wilbywarrior for everything. Logs were mostly signed FD/T64 (or T64/FD)
Day Thirteen of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.The Mega day today and we spent it around Dunedin.We spent the morning doing some AdLabs around the city, had lunch in the Octagon, then went north to Port Chalmers in the afternoon. Day 13 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and our fourth full day in Dunedin and the weather is still challenging our caching aspirations.We spent the morning doing Ad Labs around town picking up the occasional physical cache as the weather allowed and then headed out to Port Chalmers to finish off what we started. Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there were staying near Mosgiel for a the long weekend, so we can attend the Geo Toroa Event we had attended the Official Opening Event of the Geo Toroa Mega Event hung around talking & dealing to the things that needed dealt to but needed to clean-up some Mysteries & Multis that were on our hit-list headed out just before lunch Mrs McMike2012 had solved the new co-ordinates a few weeks back this turned out to be an easy find, albeit in the wind & persistent rain, log-book completed & replaced as found just gotta love finding somewhere safe to pull off the road while you go searching were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,379 for us!Second day in Dunedin and the rain overnight continues. After attending the morning event and some essential shopping we braved the weather for some solved puzzles for the Albatross and a few other targeted caches. This is the second day of my whirlwind visit to New Zealand - my first time in NZ.Today, I teamed up with barb2e, SmittenGranny, Joolay and Kittykatch. We signed the caches as CCD (Canberra Cachers in Dunedin) or with names.From the first cache - and event - onwards it was rather damp. But this did not dampen our spirits and we made good progress in visiting and signing caches to the north of the bay. It would have been nice to see from all the vistas we went to.TFTC

#21201; Day four of the GeoToroa Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and our better halves. After a couple of nights in Queenstown, arrived in Dunedin yesterday for the Mega weekend. Today started with the Mega Opening Event and a nearby LBH before we hit the road with McLookers and feathertop for the Aeroplane series, followed by some challenge caches as well as a few in the Albatross series along the way as well. The weather was not kind with steady rain as well as the occasional heavy shower as we made our way around some interesting terrain, including some quite wet, steep and slippery dirt roads. Logs were signed/stamped "Aussies on Walkabout" or "AoW" on behalf of our group and then returned as found. TFTC Wilbywarrior

Despite the rain, Isopeda, barb2e, Kittykatch, Joolay and I travelled together today and we signed caches that we found either individually or as CCD, Canberra Cachers Dunedin. Our aim was to find as many Unknown caches as possible. We had spent many zoom sessions working together to solve these before we even travelled across the ditch. We found nearly all of them and after signing duties were completed, the caches were replaced as found. Day 2 of my 6 day trip to Dunedin to attend the Mega and clean up all the puzzle caches solved over the last few years.Todays journey took us from the city via some of the new DT 81 puzzles to Port Chalmers and then back to Dunedin.Thanks for all the puzzles, caches, find, frustration and enjoyment.From here till almost the end of the day I did the rest of the caches with Richmond Lad and JoJo57. **104/38/104pt** Clockwise on wing Albatross geoart Solved after some time as I prepared dinner lol, domestic bliss. I'm up a bit earlier in the morning to see these but they do develop into some real beauties an hour later into the journey. A regular walk up the hill and found the puck. Generic paper logslip a wee bit damp. Grabbing in a tiny minigrip, it soon got ripped and someone lost the lid Doh! as anti caching muggles discovered the hide. Goods still dry as weather wouldn't get in there hopefully. Waited to find the lid had been replaced, original logslip ok but baggy is missing now. Dry enough, pressed lower in hide where it might resist detection now others have lost interest in revisiting the cache. TFTC WW

Biked out into a stiff northerly - whitecaps on the harbour - so appreciated the no fuss find once we got to GZ. This is the best time of the year to admire sunrises!
It was far too windy to cycle out and since I only wanted one today I decided to take the bus and go for a stroll to here. No trouble with the cache. On the way back I spotted the final for a challenge one that I haven't qualified for yet. Thanks.
About six weeks ago I came down to Dunedin for the first time since the last time I was here, and while I was here I noticed a puzzle geocache that hadn't ever been found, for over a year. So once I was back home I solved the puzzle and came down again this weekend to find it.Once that was done, I went off and found some more geocaches. Specifically those that made up the Albatross geoart, and I managed to find all of them. It was an excellent day's caching that I enjoyed very much. Especially good was the almost always spot on coordinates, good parking at most locations, and usually useful hints for those tricky hides (except the fake rock one, that wasn't so helpful).All good here, the cache was found safe and well.---Thanks to Wilbywarrior for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

I left Warrington with the ebike this morning planning to ride from Port Chalmers into Dunedin. Oops, the weather is not looking too flash ahead for the bike ride so I decided instead to make this a cachemobile run to sign off solved mystery caches, with the odd find of other cache types that happen to get in the way. This jigsaw took me 1hr 47m to piece together. Also reporting that this cache needs maintenance

Down in Dunedin helping GeohoundandI sort out her student house. Tonight she bought a bike so we came out in the rain to pick it up ( so lucky mum picked the mystery car and ended up with a RAV4) and a quick look on the map shows some solved puzzles nearby.

First find of the solved albatross series on this road. Yep the lid missing and afraid I didn't have the type of cache to replace. Log still dry in its baggy, hope it hangs in there!. Tftp Matt
I've enjoyed relaxing in the evenings doing these puzzles - this one kept me occupied for a while. Then today was a day to head out with MrMagoo72 to find some of the caches. Soon found the container, and took a little time slowly working its way out. As a previous cacher has said, the top is not on the container (perhaps to give it more room to manoeuvre?) but the logpaper is still dry in its plastic bag. TFTC.
This one took a bit to solve but got there in the end. The top of this cache is missing, we spend a few minutes looking in the grass in case it has been dropped but no joy sorry.

As with a few caches in this area we remarked that we had walked past here on an OTMC tramp some time ago. A pity we hadn't solved these back then- though there is never really time to stop when with muggle trampers. Found with Debsnz.
