Day #1 of 2 (01/01/23)
What a great way to start the New Year. I heard that Canberra had a New Year’s Day event and decided that, I needed to be there. So, I drove over and noticed that I had some free time up my sleeves. I headed over the CBR WIG series to find some more. Unfortunately, due to high traffic I couldn’t get all of them. Then, I checked into my motel and from there over to the event. I turned up about 20 seconds before the CO. Soon enough, everyone else started turning up and a huge crowd was there. It was great fun and then Sebass19 and I headed off to find some caches nearby. This included Labs plus bonus and a multi. After this we headed off our separate ways. I then found a couple of more caches before heading back to the motel. Red Rooster for dinner tonight.
Day #2 of 2 (02/01/23)
‘Arrrr’… I said while stretching at 4am. Why so early and worst of all I couldn’t get back to sleep. Oh well, once the sun was up, I headed off to get some breakfast. A 25 minute wait at Hungry Jacks… plus the 15 minute wait for them to open. During this time, I ran across the road and found the cache that has been on the to-find-list for quite some time. Then I headed over to ‘Pialligo Redwood Forest’ to find a solved puzzle. Next I tried to find another lot of caches in the CBR series and some other caches further along the same road. However, once again high traffic meant I couldn’t stop at them safely and so I moved on. Next, I needed a multi-cache for the day, so I found one of DSD’s Highest Mint Tins. Then I went to the Belconnen Mall for some shopping and lunch. Then I went and filled up and went over to Hall to find the cache at the church before heading home. I got home around 5pm and that ended my trip away.
After checking into my motel, it was time to head to this event. After my 25 minute drive, I pulled up and 20 seconds later the CO pulled up. I helped setup while the others started arriving and soon enough a large crowd was there. A great event to start the New Year with. I was bouncing in and out of the group for both safety and because there was caching to do. I also got to catch up with some people who I haven't seen in a while plus others who I only saw about a week ago at my Boxing Day CITO. I also shared in the joint *FTF*. Then Sebass19 and I headed off to find the nearby Multi and AL plus bonus. Thanks for the great event.
TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment.

TFTC’s and TFTE! A lovely event for a quick catch up with friends to celebrate the new year. It was lovely to get one of the trackable prizes (very much appreciated) and to share the [FTF] with everyone else at the event.

Excellent location for an event, and good weather for the first one of the year! Appreciate the late start time compared to other years also, had a big night staying up for the midnight fireworks with mates, so needed the whole morning to recover 
Huge crowd for the event today, I arrived a couple minutes before it started and there were already a dozen attendees! Had a donut and a cold drink whilst chatting. Feels odd only having a 30 minute event after all the 2 hour ones recently! Stayed until the end before heading off to get some food.

Happy 2023! Was a lovely event with a few chats, some good doughnuts and a fun raffle (but, the numbers drawn from the logbook were 19, 20 and 22 and I was number 21, blast)! Oh, and great to get the collective [FTF]. TFTE Joolay!
