Back up the Federal and Hume Highways for a few hours today to make a further dent in the Goulburn-region cache collection.A straightforward find here although took a while to get hold of. A suitably challenging climb which SC managed with his usual style and aplomb. All good with cache and log. Thanks, fitzy_1965!
Really enjoyed this tree climb. No ladders or rope needed. Just grabbed a branch and puled myself up. Thanks for the challenge. I am giving this a favourite because I succeeded. TFTC
A last minute decision early morning to head north again. A beautiful warm spring day with beautiful green views all around particularly while driving on the highway. Quick to locate but not to retrieve. SocialClimber did the climb without TOTT and made it easy, which would definitely not for me as I would need a ladder to get into the tree. TFTC fitzy_1965!
Ar[gh], [it's] gon[e]!Actually, it was still there. It's just that I needed to get my eyes working properly. Thanks for the cache. Thanks also to Fatoz for holding the ladder.
Out for an overnight caching run with steeba and Hoojar. With plenty of new caches around the southern tablelands area we had no problem finding a plethora of caches over our 24hr spree. Finally we can tick this one off the listTFTC
On a quick trip with The Rats and Hoojar tackling caches around Goulburn and the wider area. Some great hides and a variety of finds.TFTC!
Off for a 24 hour caching trip with The Rats and Steeba. Aiming for the Goulburn and Southern Tablelands area. Dodging the rain predicted!Cheers
Today we decided to travel to Goulburn to do a little caching. The weather is perfect for it.We have had some solved puzzles that needed collecting also. Thanks to all the COs for their hides. The log was quite wet. Managed to scribble our names on it.
Geoturtle37 and I are on our way home from a trip to Bathurst with great friends. GT37 had done some work on the periodic table caches and this is another that she had solved. Pleased to have a smiley here. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
For my last day off of my annual leave, I decided to head to Goulburn for the CITO. Of course I went and found other caches that have been on the to-find-list for far too long. I found 25 caches today which all had various different cache types, containers, hides and D/T ratings. I started off finding the caches along Lerida Rd before heading into Goulburn for a few more caches and of course the CITO. The CITO was great fun as well. I also enjoyed the catch up with everyone and spending a bit of time finding a few caches together. Most were easy finds but a few were a difficult to get in hand plus I also had one DNF. I enjoyed my day out and now time to head home. TB visit on all found caches. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTE & TFTCs!
The funky gibbon buckoraider retrieved this with no ToTT rather than his own armsAll those CrossFit bills are finally providing a good return to our household Thanks!
Quick park and grab on the way outta Goulburn well yeah not quiteBaristayan spotted this and when we saw it was a tree climb, we just had to stop. No TOTT required just a bit of monkey work to get started. Unfortunately the log is soaking wet, and somewhat ripped which made replacing quite challenging. Unfortunately we didnt have a spare to amend the situation Otherwise, jolly good fun and a definite fav point from me thanks!
Found with barnzy, Leg5, Lachlan1.77 after this mornings CITO.This was the quickest we had spotted a cache today. After an early morning start for a CITO nearby I offered my ladder and pole to the WAC boys from the west, on condition I could tag along. They had a number of high D/T caches they had planned to get and just needed some TOTTs to reach them.A fun morning of caches with these lads.TFTC my name jeff 1Keep smiling
Out and about again, headed around Canberra for the MEGA. The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 7. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. We rolled into Goulburn at sparrows fart this morning for a CITO. We met with Jolly0, who had the equipment required to complete some fishing and ladder caches. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers my_name_jeff_1! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
After spending 4 big days in Canberra for the Capital Geo Bash, it was time for me to leave Canberra and head towards Goulburn. I decided to spend a night in Goulburn to tackle a bunch of high terrain and/or high terrain caches, and pick up some solved mysteries. This was an interesting cache due to its proximity to the main thoroughfare. TOTT deployed, I was half expecting some locals to stop and question me. Thankfully nobody cared and I walk away with another smiley. A favourite point from me. Thank you my_name_jeff_1, for placing Argon for the geocaching community.# # #14641 # #
GreenGecko1 & I are heading to the GeoBash in Canberra and collecting the odd LGA on the way.Nice hide, cache found, signed and returned.
Day #3 Geobashing After arriving in Canberra yesterday and checking in at Canberra Park, today OzHockeyChick and I left Canberra again to head out east and grab some LGAs, challenges, favourites and other selected caches.I managed to do the monkey work for this one. Some extra long legs helped.A big thanks goes to my_name_jeff_1 for taking the time to add Argon to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Four years ago, a Bromance team adventure to hike Australia's highest 10 peaks in Kosciuszko National Park was cancelled after bushfires devastated the Snowy Mountains (and indeed most of the Eastern seaboard). We finally returned to Kosciuszko National Park a few days ago and spent three wonderful days in perfect weather hiking a circuit around the mountains climbing all of Australia's 13 highest peaks and collecting all the alpine caches along our route. After a recovery night and some caching in Canberra, we made our way to Gouburn last night, where we enjoyed a big feed at the pub before an early night. We have lots of caches planned today on our way to Sydney, so we got an early start. First mission of the day was coffee. A suitable nice coffee shop was discovered in town and once refreshed, we started heading north. One of my Bromance team mates was gun shy after a run in with the owner of the motel nearby previously. But, I insisted we stop as the DT on offer was too good to drive past. The cache was spotted from the ground. But how to get up there quickly - and before the motel owner came out? A couple of well placed knees and a jump to a branch and I was up - glad of all the upper body strength work at bootcamp. The container was secured and the log signed and we were on our way. Many thanks, Jeff. Pete#7,725
Crookedpete, JezNDez and I were part of a group of 7 geocachers from Brisbane who set off on a 3 day hike to climb to the summit of 13 of the highest mountains in Kosciuszko National Park. Originally this hike was supposed to have been undertaken after Xmas in 2019 but the rampant bushfires closed the park just as I was picking up my fellow team members from Sydney Airport. Now, four years later and it is finally mission accomplished and after staying the night in Goulburn, we are slowly making the drive back to Queensland, collecting a number of caches on our to-do list along the way.Last time I was in Goulburn was back in May 2022, on my way to another trip to the Snowies but, on this occasion, in the company of my wife. Back then I had a attempted another cache in a nearby (or maybe the same?) tree but was chased away by the proprietor of the nearby hotel who babbled on about how the trees would be killed if I stepped foot in them and he would call the police. Although confident of my rights to be in a public place, I thought it best not to jeopardise that cache and reluctantly moved on. This time around I was still a little gun shy, casting wary glances across at the hotel, but knowing I had reinforcements bucked up the courage and headed over to GZ. No run ins today and the cache was soon recovered and The Bromance team stamp was added to the logbook to save room. TFTC
#7378Happy Australia Day!Were in the ACT for the weekend, filling grid squares and finding fun caches, usually in trees! An early start in Mittagong and a car full of TOTTs and hopes are high for a great day.DNF avenged! Easier when not missing. Thanks for the cache!
#7378Day 2/4 of our Australia Day caching weekend. Happy Australia Day! Mittagong -> CanberraToday is our first full day of caching, driving from Mittagong to Canberra and grabbing whatever we can along the way, then spending the next 2 nights in Canberra! Targetting good DTs, trees, cool types, and whatever else we decide on! DNFd this last time, came back to avenge today and after a little search the cache was spotted and up I went. Quickly retrieved and sent to the ground crew for a sign and return. All good here.TFTC my_name_jeff_1

Find # 11003Find was a group effort here today, thanks to maintenance being done by the CO, who was also hosting a CITO here as well. albida made the retrieval and return quick and easy at Argon here today. Great D/T too ??Thanks so much for the many caches my_name_jeff_1 and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light ????
I came to the CITO and was present when the cache was replaced. It caused a muggle to come across the road to be introduced to geocaching. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
While attending the CITO here we were able to add our name to the log before collecting rubbish in the park. Glad to be able to add this one to our list of finds. Thanks for replacing this one as promised go to my_name_jeff_1.
Picking up some more of the caches on offer around Goulburn, together with goingplaces2. Happy to make this one a smiley on the map. TFTC.
This cache will be fixed up on 17 Jan 2024 during a nearby event when there will be a ladder available. I will advise accordingly.
Hi my_name_jeff_1,The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 4 weeks) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 4 weeks to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.Ngaambul - Matt
Chooo ooo [DNF] with dty73 on a quick trip to Goulburn! Either it’s missing, or it’s a lot harder than a D1? Thanks my_name_jeff_1!
No luck here, 2 trips and about 30 min of looking, no luck even with help from a previous finder.
No luck today….. we had a good look from the ground and 5m up. Couldn’t sight it… D1?
Half a day of midweek caching is a luxury for me, so better make the most of it! Even with most of the leaves gone now it took a long time to spot.

Drove up to Goulburn to attend two events and the placement of this at the event was something a little different. Now the FTF and a few others have passed and remembering it we are logging a find as we were there at placement.
A familiar tree and nice to see a cache back here.
Thanks for placing here again my_name_jeff_1

After a solid Christmas break it is time to head to Goulburn for a event duo of a CITO and an Event Dinner. I headed off after lunch time to take a very non direct route collecting a few caches on the way via Bugendore, Tarago & Windellama. I found a few fun roads that needs lots of work, and on one back road there was a dam a meter deep of the rolly poly grass across the road, a little odd. After reaching Goulburn I collected Fitzy_1965 and we went for a few local caches including a few fun pole caches. The Rain called an early end to the COTO and we all moved on to the event for dinner.
This cache was placed during the last visit to Goulburn while I was in attendance, so having almost forgotten about, I am logging my find today.

#1585 Claiming this one now that others have made the first to find. I was present at placement during the nearby CITO. Afterwards we all headed to the club for a lovely meal for dinner. Thanks my name Jeff for the hide

Joined the **MCO** expedition with **Purplepeopleater**, **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Team Merlin**, **TARDIS 0061** and **Asbestiform**. After a hearty breakfast in Mittagong, we headed off under threatening skies and cleared out our targets in that area.
Then off to Goulburn to cherry pick our way through the periodic table.
By the end of the day, the tally was around 50 finds after venturing further down the Hume to Goulburn and surrounds.

Another MCO find. One of the climbers couldn't contain himself but technology came to the fore in the end. Thanks my_name_jeff_1.
Joined the grumpy expedition into the southern lands for the day. Inspired by the new movie "A Man Called Otto" our group including teamMerlin, Baktrak, Purplepeopleater, bella at waggy, crash2079, TARDIS 0061 and asbestiform with all physical caches signed under the name MCO. Wonderful expedition to the Southern Highlands and flat bits between Mittagong, , Marulan and Goulburn with the "Men called Otto": Baktrak, bella at waggy, Crash2079, Purplepeopleater, Tardis0061, teamMerlin and me. Logs signed MCO. Various cache selections typically with uncommon DT ratings, squid fishing and climbing along with a few longer walks. Weather held off. Thanks to all COs for your efforts.
What started out as a twinkle in my and bella at waggy's eye for a southern highlands incursion earlier in the week for some periodic table cheery picking, turned into a full scale grumpy expedition. Inspired by the newly released "A Man Called Otto" (which is an American interpretation of the fabulous "A Man called Ove") and the "apparent" similarities to several of our group's demeanor and appearance, the expedition was officially deemed the "Man Called Otto" expedition (OMC) and comprised: myself, Baktrak, Crash2079, Tardis0061, teamMerlin, Asbestiform and bella at waggy.
After climbing the tree the cache was spotted however we deployed another TOTT to make an easy retrieval. Gets a fave point.

PPE and myself had been talking about some select targets on a southern day run. We decided to not be too antisocial and moved the day around to suit a few others which came in handy at one of the other caches. The group consisted of PPE, Crash, Baktrak, teamMerlin, Tardis 0061, Asbestiform and yours truly. Targets included puzzles, poles, ladders and some not so common DTs and high D or Ts plus a few others en route.
Logs were signed as MCO as what became known as a Man Called Otto expenditure after the recent movie release and some grumpy kidding around. We completed the signing duties and re hid.

Teamed up with AngelG27, Fox in Jox and TikvaNZ (FAST in some of the logs to save space) to attend an event in Bowral and nab several select caches that were on the radar.

An afternoon caching excursion to Bowral with SpecimenX, Fox in Jox and AngelG27, to finish off the year. We dropped by here on the way through Goulburn as the FTF was up for grabs. FIJ wasted no time hauling himself up into the tree and finding the cache. (No FTF for me as I turned up when the cache was being placed.) TFTC.

Four of us (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, SpecimenX and TikvaNZ or FAST) headed up the highway to go to the event at Bowral organized by Pantspeople and decided to grab a few while on the road. A fun afternoon and lots of laughs!
I spotted this one while browsing caches in Goulburn, and noted that FTF was up for grabs still. So we swung by and Fox launched himself into the tree and towards the cache. A quick sign and we headed towards another couple of caches nearby.
Thanks my_name_jeff_1 for the cache and the fun!
