Find# 12677We had a two-day assault on caching in Goulburn, and finding this cache was a must for out D/T grid. Thanks to the CO for the maintenance today and support.TFTC Fitzy_1965
We searched for an hour and a half.We even used the metal detector on the ground. Had a previous finder send photos and still no luck. Such a shame as we needed this cache for our grid.
DNF 20/10/24. Looked for a long time, but even with binoculars and good clues from the log, i still couldnt find it.
63ROOS and I driving around to NSW country to find heap caches....Stay Motel over night ...Hide well.... tks
What perfect weather today with ALL7 to catch up on some caches. Lovely spotted and signed in by stamp of us. TFTM
EthisEthat and I joined forces today for an expedition to Goulburn where we attended a CITO, found plenty of caches, and got up to some shenanigans along the way.Following the CITO, a group of attendees formed to grab some of the tree fishing hides around the area.EthisEthat recalled his find of this cache, so while most of us were searching around the anticipated tree, he was able to spot it in another one entirely!Retrieval then ensued and a few new names entered the logbook. Thanks to my_name_jeff_1 for this hide!
With 3064 traditional cache finds to my name, I was still missing that elusive DT combination of 4.5/3.5 for this cache type. So I was very happy to notice that there was one here, not far from the CITO we attended before and everyone, who was at the CITO joined me for this cache. We craned our necks for quite a while without success and just after I had gone back to the car to get my binoculars, Ethisethat spotted the cache - a little off GZ and not in the original tree. We quickly retrieved the cache, signed the log and then put it in the correct tree - under the guidance of the CO's representative.Very happy to be able to plug that hole on my Trad DT Grid.TFTC
Having driven up to Goulburn for a CITO, a small group of us continued on to find a few interesting caches. This was one of them. Thanks to all the COs for contributing to our game. Logs were signed and caches replaced.
Caching with isopeda on a trip to another Goulburn CITO. This one spotted in a different tree by eThiseThat and found with Brain and Smittengranny as well. Tftc
Found after a good look in a number of trees. Then it was a quick retrieve and return. TFTC my_name_jeff_1.
This one took a bit of searching before it was successfully located, retrieved, signed and replaced. Thanks, my_name_jeff_1!
Spent an age here on Friday in cold blustery conditions with deni_f with no luck. Phoned a previous finder, came back today to give it another try. Still no luck. May have blown off. Next time?
Found with barnzy, Leg5, Lachlan1.77 after this mornings CITO.We had a bit of trouble replacing this one, but got there eventually. After an early morning start for a CITO nearby I offered my ladder and pole to the WAC boys from the west, on condition I could tag along. They had a number of high D/T caches they had planned to get and just needed some TOTTs to reach them.A fun morning of caches with these lads.TFTC my name jeff 1Keep smiling

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. We rolled into Goulburn at sparrows fart this morning for a CITO. We met with Jolly0, who had the equipment required to complete some fishing and ladder caches. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers my_name_jeff_1! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 6. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)

Cache fished and log signed with dalerious . This was an awesome set of two fishes in a tree. All catches were found in good nick, caught, tagged, and released back into the wild .Thank you my_name_jeff_1.It was a Mega Easter in Canberra. dalerious and I had but 3 days to achieve the almost unachievable. We had a mega list of high D/T's and we weren't mucking around, meticulously planning each day sp precisely, searching for those special caches that you have to do the hard yards on, to earn.We gain the most pleasure and satisfaction from going the extra mile; and then look back on our stat's and feel a sense of achievement that you get when you earn something with true grit and determination. Canberra put on a show. The weather was awesome, and the Mega and all her wonderful minions were so helpful and never skipped a beat. You have some awesome caches in your city and surrounds, as well as some truly dedicated CO's and dalerious and I thank you all.We enjoyed our time with you all. THANK YOU .
28 March 2024 5:32pmVery lucky to spot this one quickly. That could have been a nightmare. MEGA weekend was finally upon us and before we made our way to our accomodation, catnap777 and I had to fish down a cache or three for their generous D/T combos that aid immensely in our FIZZY Grid aspirations. By the end of Easter, we had both added another 3 loops to our individual accounts. Thanks for the "Kr"azy cache my_name_jeff_1.
Oh boy! That took some searching. Actually we first spotted the long wire hook from the previous cachers pole glinting in the sun. The cache (and hook) wasnt so hard to get down but it sure was a challenge to put it back up, but we did it. Thank you for another challenging cache.
Easily retrieved but was seriously struggling to put it back. I ended up getting the cache back on, but my hook decided it liked the branch too. Will need to make a new one. TFTC!
Day 1 of our Christmas - New Year 2023 holidays, and we have arrived in Goulburn. After setting up, it was time to grab a few geocaches that caught our eyes. Mostly some puzzles, multicaches, and some high DT geocaches. Now, this was another interesting adventure. The rain stopped as we finished walking here but we could hear thunder the whole time here. After 10 minutes, it wasn't looking good, and then 999HK saw it. Right above me, and I still couldn't spot it.Then we got our TOTT out, but it was too short, so I ended up climbing the nearest tree and 999HK and Huntress passed the TOTT up, and then I slowly got the geocache to ground. Of course, I dropped it in the bushes, but we were able to re-find, sign and return as found. Thanks for the cache, my name Jeff 1Hunter
Mr Minion and I are spending a few days in Goulburn finding caches, we are really enjoying the town and the variety of the hides. Wow now that blends in really well, Mr Minion and I spent far too long looking at the wrong tree and I just happened to spot it in a different tree as I was about to get into the car, very well done retrieving by Mr MinionThanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
Found after a short search, retrieval was straight forward but replacement was a bit of a challenge in the fading light. Got there in the end! Thanks for the cache my_name_jeff_1
On a day trip with The Rats and Steeba, targeting caches in and around Goulburn. Cheers
Itd been a while since wed been to Goulburn, so a days caching with steeba and Hoojar mapped out.Armed with our TOTT we picked up a good handful caches in the area. Thanks to the COs for placing the caches.TFTC
Headed down Goulburn way with The Rats and Hoojar to tackle mainly Periodic table series caches- plenty of interesting places and hides, with some TOTTs required. A good day out all around.Took a little while to spot this one.TFTC!
OCW SammyBro19. We took awhile to spot this cache. We systematically looked at the tree closest to our GZ, then a couple of trees nearby. We finally shifted over to the tree on the opposite side and suddenly saw the cache. It was doing a good job of being inconspicuous. D5, it certainly is! The Grey Baron was extended to its full length and to control all the flexing, we leaned it on a convenient cross branch which was just beneath the cache. That made it easy to retrieve and also replace. Find #33 for the Grey Baron. TFTC my_name_jeff_1
Last night of a holiday to Adelaide and back from Newcastle and this was one we wanted from the start. I needed it for a D:T loop but amazingly filled in this square twice while we were away.
Little did we know just how diabolical this one was. It took a while to retrieve and even longer to replace! It earned the rating! Great to make the find with the geokids and fill a valuable DT space. TNLN TFTC

In Goulburn area for the day with Tankengine. We planned to do a little cache maintenance and pick up a few unfound before heading to the CITO then dinner event. This cache: After finding the cache we notice that this looked more like another Cachers style. So we checked the logs and discovered we had found the throw down. But seeing the last logs we soon found the original too. Removed original cache and gave to CO. Tftc!!!
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 on a quick trip to Goulburn! Found both containers - will return old one to CO. Thanks my_name_jeff_1!

Day 3/4 of our Mittagong/Goulburn Trip.
Today we targeted lots of good DT’s around the Goulburn/Brayton area, while also grabbing letterboxes and other cool cache types in between. We found some great caches in some amazing areas.
This one was a relatively quick find, and a very quick retrieve. We found the original container from placement, so judging by the recent logs that means there are 2 in the tree.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache my_name_jeff_1

Today we’re caching around Goulburn. We have grabbed the odd roadside rest-cache here in previous stops, but have never spent any time caching the area.
We’re chasing some DTs we need today, and of course anything that appears at our bow, plus the essential trig points.
We found the original rather than the throwup cache… we didn’t see a second cache…
Thanks for the cache!

Messaged Rapidlywild to see when her next RDO was and suggested taking today to attend the CITO and collect some caches around the Goulburn area. She was keen so one of the FFLL team took a TOIL day as well.
Lovely day for it although a little chilly and all caches were found and we were also given prior permission to replace if any were missing. Loved the number of tree fishing caches here they are a bonus.
Replaced this one it was MIA
Thanks for the hide my_name_jeff_1 and thanks for a fun day out Rapidlywild.

Received a message from FFLL#1 about 2 weeks ago asking when my next RDO was at work, oh there is a daytime event on in Goulburn today? cool, so RDO was booked. We made our way up the highway and grabbed a couple caches prior to the event. We decided to start at the northern end of Goulburn and grab whatever we could throughout the day. We were joined by DSD before the event as we made our way across the mountain collecting caches we hadn't signed and post the event, we were joined by Fitzy. It was a great day out and about, the weather was wonderful and we had a lovely time, sure beats sitting in the office.
We had a really long search for this one and checked every possible branch, however there was no cache to be located. So we reached out to the CO and asked if they wanted us to place a new fishing cache for them after confirmation the cache was def missing. We were granted the go ahead to replace the missing cache and we placed it at the appropriate height based on the D/T of this listing. So there is a new fishy waiting to be caught, signed and replaced for future fisher-peoples.
Thanks for the cache placement and maintenance my_name_jeff_1 and thanks for a super fun day out and about FFLL

For some reason Muggle65 and l took a few minutes to spot this one. No idea why. Once you spot it, you can't unsee it. M65 did the deed and we were very happy. A fave point from me. Thank you for the fun
Passing by on our Rutherglen Odyssey with. and required to find this one as part of our targeted D/T requirements.
Mixed luck with my tree fishing today.
This one I did find, was an easier find compared to the previous one
Thank you for this cache

I was happy to have another event day in Goulburn arrive. It gave me the chance to venture out a little along the way, via Tarago and Windellama for a few remote caches before heading into Goulburn for two more tree caches and then the two events. As popular as ever, a great crowd at both.
I have been sharing these pole caches out, and I was happy this one was spotted quickly. It was a little tricky to get to as the ground is very uneven and there are plenty of branched to work around. The retrieval and replacement went without issue.

After finding out that I wasn’t needed for work today, I decided on heading to Goulburn for the lunchtime CITO. However, before I arrived I went on a cache finding spree. I managed to get quite a few quick and easy finds of the Elements series plus a few others which have been on the to-find-list. Once it was getting close to event time, I went and got KFC for lunch. The event was a small crowd this time with only the CO, Minniek, Toy Hunters, Sebass19 and myself. A few bags of rubbish was filled. Afterwards, Toy Hunters, Sebass19, myself with the assistance Fitzy_1965 went to find some more caches which required some very special TOTT’s. At 2pm, I headed off from them to go home but not before finding three more caches before the drive home. It was a great day. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTE & TFTC’s!
This was the last cache we did as a group before going our separate ways. We spotted this cache almost immediately after getting out of the cars. We soon had the TOTT extended and the CIH. After signing duties were completed, it was soon back in it's hiding spot and ready for the next finder. From here I said my goodbyes to the group and then I was off home. However, not before finding three more caches. Thanks so much for the great day out.

Found with sebass19 and JohnoMawbs on a fun day of caching in Goulburn after today's GGGT CITO. Lovely sunny day. Not time at all in spotting this cache and with the correct TOTT, we took turns retrieving and replacing the cache. All good here, thankfully none of us were Supermen! TFTC!
While on a caching trip with ilook4geo to Goulburn, we decided to put just a few of the elements from the periodic table on the program. The ones chosen all needed a TOTT and a couple we needed to fill in blank squares on our D/T chart for traditional caches. This one was easily reached and signing duties were soon done. Thanks for this cache placement go to my_name_jeff_1.
Out for a couple of days caching with goingplaces2 in the Goulburn area. Had a few particular caches listed to find and this one was a success. Names added to the log, all was replaced. Job done! TFTC.
A last minute midweek roadtrip to Goulburn and Yass valley with some stop overs along the way. Visited a lot of great spots and did some interesting caches.

Joined the **MCO** expedition with **Purplepeopleater**, **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Team Merlin**, **TARDIS 0061** and **Asbestiform**. After a hearty breakfast in Mittagong, we headed off under threatening skies and cleared out our targets in that area.
Then off to Goulburn to cherry pick our way through the periodic table.
By the end of the day, the tally was around 50 finds after venturing further down the Hume to Goulburn and surrounds.

Found this as a group of 7 out on a day of caching. Signed as MCO. Thanks to all the cache owners who we discover their caches to day. A most enjoyable day thanks guys. Cheers
Joined the grumpy expedition into the southern lands for the day. Inspired by the new movie "A Man Called Otto" our group including teamMerlin, Baktrak, Purplepeopleater, bella at waggy, crash2079, TARDIS 0061 and asbestiform with all physical caches signed under the name MCO. With the cache in hand, we signed the log then replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache my_name_jeff_1.

Wonderful expedition to the Southern Highlands and flat bits between Marulan and Goulburn with the "Men called Otto": Baktrak, bella at waggy, Crash2079, Purplepeopleater, Tardis0061, teamMerlin and me. Logs signed MCO. Various cache selections typically with uncommon DT ratings, squid fishing and climbing along with a few longer walks. Weather held off. Thanks to all COs for your efforts.
What started out as a twinkle in my and bella at waggy's eye for a southern highlands incursion earlier in the week for some periodic table cheery picking, turned into a full scale grumpy expedition. Inspired by the newly released "A Man Called Otto" (which is an American interpretation of the fabulous "A Man called Ove") and the "apparent" similarities to several of our group's demeanor and appearance, the expedition was officially deemed the "Man Called Otto" expedition (OMC) and comprised: myself, Baktrak, Crash2079, Tardis0061, teamMerlin, Asbestiform and bella at waggy.
This was another of the targeted elements series and was quickly spotted and retrieved.

PPE and myself had been talking about some select targets on a southern day run. We decided to not be too antisocial and moved the day around to suit a few others which came in handy at one of the other caches. The group consisted of PPE, Crash, Baktrak, teamMerlin, Tardis 0061, Asbestiform and yours truly. Targets included puzzles, poles, ladders and some not so common DTs and high D or Ts plus a few other en route.
Logs were signed as MCO as what became known as a Man Called Otto expenditure after the recent movie release and some grumpy kidding around. We completed the signing duties and re hid.
This was part of leg 2. Certainly a lot easier from the right angle for the hide and pole work compared to the last one.

The "Men Called Otto" made quick work after all but choking on Oxygen before. Thanks my_name_jeff_1.
Nice area for the dog to run safely around. Took a while to get and return. Signed and replaced. Tftc
[FTF]. Driving up and back to Sydney quite a bit at the moment due to very elderly parents, has meant that we have been fortunate in finding some of this series along our drive.
We were certainly not expecting to find these ones today, and they were an added and happy bonus for us on what is a fairly regular commute at the moment.
A great D/T!
The area here was very peaceful today, and it did not take too long to spot the hide, and with the right tool, we soon had this one in our hands with our name added to the blank log.
