A quick find with frmen1 on our way to Alva. Shame that the sign re Barramundi has faded. Some lovely water lilies nearby. Stepped back onto terra firma to do the signing as I didn't trust us to not drop it in the drink. TFTC

Getting some hours up with the learning driver before she turns 17 next month we headed to Ayr for the day. Scenic location and a logical GZ. Thanks emilywanders for getting me off the couch.

Phone GPS was all over the place for this one. It took 3 goes before an accurate GZ could be obtained. Thankfully, Ballbag noticed only one likely steel location amongst all of the aluminum. Sure enough, Bumblebee put her hand straight on it. The micro container might need some love, as the o-ring has started to degrade. Log was signed and cache rehidden. TFTC Smile.

A few caps that could be removed but the only cap worth undoing was the cap holding the log sheet in. Once that was unscrewed I added a + one to my tally. A fairly so so attempt today with only 2 of 4 located. Amateur hour.. at least the countryside was looking great though.
The high viz didn’t make me invisible at this GZ as a guy on a bike with a Rottweiler hollered out across the water and asked if his dog could go for a swim. I had no issue with it and the dog was happy to be told as it was straight in for a walk in the cool water. Good to see a bloke and his dog enjoying life

Pretty full at the moment. Checked the most logical spot and made the instant find. While watching the fish I signed the log.

It has been quite some time since I explored the general Burdekin region. Numerous years ago we stayed in town overnight, did a dive at the SS Yongala and enjoyed the little town a little more before continuing further. Since that time we usually only rushed through to leave as much bitumen behind us as possible with the aim of exploring locations down south. Also a few more wet visits at the Yongala followed, but all of those were made via liveaboars.
But not this time. This time I specifically took the time to enjoy the area. Well, and what better to do than searching for all these great new caches that have fairly recently been added to the map. Thank you very much emilywanders that you have created this cache and showed me the area! Much appreciated.

We thought this was going to be an easy drive by on our unexpected wow the are some new caches in town outing but GZ was a hive of activity with fisherman trying their luck to catch the fish that would have been on the move because of the very heavy overnight showers . Plan B was head to the beach hope for the best there and try again on the way back. But of course fishman don't just give up but neither do cachers so we were pretty sure we could share the same space and we did even though it was a lengthy process but you do these things whilst trying to claim a FTF. Grabbing the cache was the easy part putting it back involved pretending to take lots of photos but the mission was finally completed and even involved actually involved congratulating one of the fisherman on their catch. Thanks for filling in our afternoon and the chance to claim another FTF.

STF pipped at the post with this cache. Excited to see some new caches dropped so headed out for some finds. But unfortunately when we opened the log book it had already been found. A lot of stealth was required as the overnight rain had drawn out the keen anglers. Cache drop hazard is real here. Thanks Emily Wanders for the caching adventure. TFTC
