#14,758. Park, walk, climb and grab in Waikanae Park in Waikanae. We had borrowed a ladder (courtesy of the Seagnoid) and arranged to team up with haydn.seek to attempt a number of these Levitation caches. The GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. It was quick to spot the container, but it took us a longer while to try out several approaches to place and steady the ladder for a safe climb. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Favorite point added for the most challenging one we found on this trip.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*

This was the hardest one of the day as the ground was soft dry and sandy so it took quite alot of time to safely place the ladder before we were all happy for H to ascend up the ladder . I set off from Palmerston North at about 11.00am and headed to the Kimberley reserve to put up my tent etc before moving on to meet up with HuhuGrub and Wife ( with a tall collapsible ladder ) to attempt the four levitation caches here in Waikanae . It was good that we were a party of three as two were needed to hold the ladder steady while H did the climbing up to the cache. - some more so than others as we had found out the day before at the Otaki levitation caches . After we had completed the four we drove back north , me to Kimberly while H went onto levin . Thes must have taken some scaling up and down the trees to place them So thank you for these caches .

Today is Wednesday 7th Feb.Yesterday was Tuesday 6th Feb (Waitangi Day - NZ Stat holiday)On Monday 5th Feb at 30min to finishing, my manager asked me to go to the Wellington office on Wednesday for a priority support job. "And can you take your car as the Palm North pool car is already booked - you'll be reimbursed".Apparently I'd been specifically requested by the CEO's Executive Assistant to help a member of the Board of Directors with an IT issue. At least that's what I think they said? What I *heard* my manager say was that work wanted to reimburse my petrol to go caching in Wellington!I planned my route to collect a couple of Hidden Date and D/T caches that I was missing, which included this one.I came prepared with my extending Christmas present and was soon circling the hosts but struggling to see the container from the ground like the description claimed would be possible.I increased my elevation and still struggled to see it.Decreasing my elevation, i consulted the photos attached to previous finders' logs and noticed that a limb was missing from the host. A particularly important limb!Realising that the limb had probably gained a gravitational enhancement, I searched around the base of the host and soon located the container, still attached to its limb, hiding in the branches of a lower neighbour.Retrieving and signing it was easy but returning it was harder as I had to identify a new location.Hopefully my reattachment is acceptable to the CO and future finders? Thanks for the new D/T combination Smile*PS, lots of photos attached*

Some time ago I bought a geocaching ladder (ie, portable. Telescopic. "Do you suffer from excess downers? Can't get it up? Rise to the occasion today with the new-fangled Extendamatic Upperator! When you need more uppenating, this is the tool for you! Get yours today, while stocks last! Buy now and get a bonus gift of a free set of Ginzu steak knives! Only $9.95 and a couple of hundred for free shipping! Call now!!) Yep, I called then. And my jouney to Palmerston North was my trial trip. I de-boxified then de-plastificated my Upperator on the roadside and extendinated it to the heavens. Rising to the occasion was easy peasy and I was soon rewarded for my efforts. So on the way home I had to test it out some more. Stopped here... Re-de-boxified my Upperator and cranked it out to full upperfication. Oops too much! Can't get too over excited, so reigned it in a bit. And now for the next problem. I seem to have bought the model without the delux stabilatrons. After about 5 whole minutes jiggling I have a half way semi-dodgy totally unstable footing so promptly rose to the occasion. Timidly. But the half way semi-dodgy totally unstable footing turned out to be a half way semi-dodgy totally stable footing which is good, as to sign the log I needed both hands and arms free, so the only thing holding me to the tree was my feet on the Upperator.Log signed, Upperator collapsed back into sneak mode, I bunged it back in the box and tossed it onto the back seat of the car. That was fun! Let's do it again! There's another just down the road...

barefootguru (with his Wattmobile), InfoFerret, GSEL and myself were heading up to TwigNZ's Get Set Go 5 event but called in for a few caches beforehand. The second of the levitation cache finds this morning. A little more involved to reach the base and once again GSEL was up the ladder while I anchored. Another quick signing and back to the car, although I took the longer way down due to not wanting to kane out on the bank. All good here, and TFTC.

#13,560. A group of us were driving north today to attend TwigNZ's event in Levin. I asked Barefootguru if he was happy for us to use his extendable ladder to have a go at some of the Levitation series up the Kapiti Coast. So we diverted off the motorway to have go at these. Parked nearby and scrambled up the bank with the ladder to the target tree. Bruzie spotted the cache and with the ladder secured in place I scrambled up to sign the logsheet while the others kept the ladder steady. All good here. Thanks tmann421 for the cache.

Thanks tmann421
It was great fun climbing up to this one...
Glad I remembered my pen and that it was in a tranquil spot with no muggles today.

Once again, as it is every couple of weeks, I find myself spending the weekend in Wanganui (from Wellington), and after my real life responsibilities had been dealt with for the day I was headed back home and collecting a few geocaches along the way. This was one of them.

Recently I got my hands on a new tool/toy to add to my geocaching bits and bobs, a telescopic ladder. Today was the day to really test it out with three of the recent Levitation caches. This was number three, and a little tricky due to the hill, but fortunately there is a well placed short branch to 'hook' the ladder over which added some stability and made the job easy. The log was signed and returned safe and well.

Thanks to tmann421 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

(# 7693) Up the coast today meeting up with TwigNZ, TrinityNZ and JustLooking00 to mainly get several of the Levitation series and to bless TwigNZ's new telescoping ladder. A quick find. Thanks for bringing me here.

Out and about with TrinityNZ, TwigNZ and Mr-Magoo to turn a few more of the Levitation series into smilies, using TwigNZ's new favourite TOTT (telescopic ladder). GZ is a nicely tucked away quiet area, definately bring a friend. Good fun. TFTC tmann421 Smile

One of my geocaching friends has a new ladder, so I volunteered to turn up to help find some levitation caches. This was our third meeting point for today in an interesting location - I hadn't seen the view of the pool from this angle before.

The cache was quite high up, but the new ladder worked a treat. TwigNZ did the honours, climbing up the ladder, while we helped with keeping it steady.

Thanks tmann421 for placing this cache.

Earlier this week I took delivery of a new TOTT. Having been inspired by a few photos of some friends recently attending the Rutherglen event in Australia, I decided that I absolutely needed a telescopic ladder to keep in the boot of my car. Today would be it's first outing, in the hope of being able to mop up a lot of the recently published Levitation-themed caches, together with TrinityNZ, JustlookinOO and Mr-Mcgoo.

I'd been to scope this one out previously, so knew what to expect. Setting up the ladder was a bit interesting, and I will definitely be making a modification to restrict the top rung sliding laterally but with Mr-Mcgoo and Trinity holding the ladder steady I never had any fears for my safety.

There were no issues at all with the cache, and I put safety first by bringing the log down to GZ to do the signing for the 4 of us here today before replacing it as found.

Thanks for setting this one up Smile

PS I may have dated our log entries as the 24th by mistake. I did that for a few caches at the start of our day before being reminded that I was being a bit premature Smile

It is midnight and I’m so high up this tree but I can’t find anything. Now that I look around me with this wonderful view, I think I might be in the wrong tree. Now I have to figure how to get down.

I had been planning for some time to come this way with a ladder, and (thanks to a number of new caches further north to make the trip more attractive) I decided to come today. I had visited the three Waikanae "Levitation" sites a few weeks ago just to suss them out, and I located them all so I knew what I was in for. An easy climb and retrieve once I had secured the ladder to the tree with a ratchet webbing tie-down strap.

Thanks for the interesting little challenge, I like these ones! Signed log, TFTC

I would dearly love a levitation device as pictured on the cache page, but we had to make do with barefootguru's new toy. Fortunately this did the job just as well! B climbed up while Infoferret and I provided moral and physical support from below. TFTC tmann421!

Out with D and Infoferret collecting these caches while in the neighbourhood and having packed the appropriate TotT (maybe not as pictured?!) I did the honours while the other 2 provided support from terra firma. The kids at the nearby pool were too busy to notice. Thanks for the adventure tmann421

12-Feb-23
Spotted by D, then BFG made the ascent with the other 2 of us providing stability. Would have fancied a swim to cool off afterwards, but I didn't have my togs with me! TFTC tmann421, love your work as usual.

#2328. Having already found the previous three in this series, it was a no-brainer to grab the next three. However, there was no chance of aiming for the FTF, as tonight was the first chance we had. GB Leader and I were joined by Flowerydaze and matagouri to do the seeking and ladder holding. After nabbing #7 just down the road, it was on to this one. The TOTT from my orchard was employed again, and soon I was up the tree (my turn for doing the climbing) and returning to Earth with the logbook in hand.

Another Levitation done & dusted, and now it's on to #3.

Tftc tmann421. Log signed at 6.35pm. We are holding our collective breaths for more Levitations! #1 and #6 yet to appear!

The second challenge this evening for the newly formed mountaineering group, and this time the tree was in close proximity to the top of the waterslide at the Waikanae pool. I know it was near the top of the slide because when RogerW1nz was at the top of the ladder, there were screams heard and I was alarmed for a while because I thought it was RogerW1nz, but no, it was the kids nearby expressing their delighted fear as they launched themselves down the slide. The official photographer (GB Leader) took some great photos while RogerW1nz posed appropriately, while matagouri and I held the precious ladder firm.

Good fun, so thank you tmann421, for the cache.

Found on a fine warm evening in Waikanae in the company of RogerW1NZ, GB leader, and Flowerydaze. Roger provided the necessary equipment, while the rest of us spread out to locate the cache. Once found, Roger took it upon himself to retrieve this one. A successful retrieval, signing, and return. All good, tftc!
