This morning I climbed Mt Eerwah with a group of geocachers to celebrate JD's birthday and 1000th cache find. After the walk, Kolour, Davidwazza, smallwombat and I drove south towards Nambour, picking up a number of caches along the way. With the light of the day fading, we knew that tree fishing was going to be a bit difficult, but tree climbing can be done easily enough in the dim light, so we headed up to check out this cache. It was quite nice walking along the creek here in the late afternoon and there were a number of people out and about, taking a walk and hoping to spot a platypus in the creek. We soon found the place we needed to be and Davidwazza quickly made the ascent. A great cache to end the day with. Thanks dahumbug for this cache and all the others we have found together today!

21-Jul-24
This was our final cache of the day (or at least with me, as we did stop at a petrol station geocache that I had previously found during our trip home), and we walked our way around the road bridge after parking on Elder Street nearby. There were a few people with their heads down at the creek, and we learned that they were trying to spot a platypus as it was going on to dusk. We had other priorities on our mind, so we arrived at this tree, and I enjoyed the ascent to the cache, where the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [dahumbug](https://coord.info/PR8W6P9) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A fun tree to climb, where anything goes!----------Today, I joined [Brissy Cat](https://coord.info/PR5XF6H) and [kolour](https://coord.info/PRDR6H9) in heading north to the Sunshine Coast, with our planned hike on Mount Eerwah to attend the aptly named [JD's Birthday Bash up Mount Eerwah](https://coord.info/GCARRGP) Event. It was an enjoyable steep slog to the top with picturesque views of the valley and surrounds. In the afternoon, [smallwombat](https://coord.info/PRH7KQB) joined our vehicle, and we drove through Mapleton National Park bushland, visiting Bonyee Walk and completing the [Bonyee Walk](https://coord.info/GC8R48B) Wherigo, Cooloolabin Dam, before arriving in Nambour. We targeted geocaches that the group hadn't found, but focused on tree fishing and tree climbing geocaches. The Nambour & District Historical Museum Association had a few interesting displays that were good to see.

When BrissyCat mentioned the event on Mt Eerwah, I was a definite in. We picked up Davidwazza on the way and made a day of it, finding quite a few caches. We arrived in Nambour to find some caches and AL waypoints. This was our final one for the day as it was dark now. Luckily it was found easily and Davidwazza did the tree climb. Logbook signed and replaced as found. We then chatted to some people looking for platypus (wondering if thats what we were doing) and then headed home. Tftc

After visiting another enchanted area my son and I headed to this park to check out this cache. A group of homeless?? or whatever, were standing around near the oval smoking and drinking but they didn't worry about us as we made our way towards GZ. Once at GZ I the cache was soon seen and I headed up and soon had the cache in hand. After signing the log I dropped the lid but my son retrieved it and brought it up to me. All was returned as found. As mentioned in the previous log there is some items near the tree closest to the river but no sign of any recent camping. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy. TFTC dahumbug Smile

A homeless person has set up a small campsite in the bushes. Could have had a better look, but it seemed a bit dodgy. No find today.

This is supposed to be a story about anything. It would (no doubt) start with a beginning. An introduction, perhaps. A prelude to something that would in due course become the story.I'll try to be brief but remember anything goes.At the same time, I'll have to talk about something somewhere almost as if nothing had everything. Which of course it simply did not.So, a story begins.Nothing like an early morning tree climb sans coffee to get the swear jar active. Sad face for the bad adulting not getting everything's info.High five for the effort. Find # 4242 Takk !

Today we had our Grandson with us, so a good day to find a tree climbing cache. Parked up and a short walk across the park to GZ, by the time I had crossed the park he had been up the tree back down and holding the log for me to sign!! TFTC dahumbug Smile

Nice little stroll from the car across the bridge to GZ. Wow, they grow huge pines around this part of town, don't they. Especially the one near GZ, that thing is pretty impressive. It's definitely got some house frame potential. Timber prices are going up and Nambours sitting on a gold mine here.
Nice location Notorious B.U.G.

Brislions, Thhe Green Geckos and I were assisting dahumbug on a maintenance run and at this cache we were stalked by a large lizard. At first it was watching us, then it kept coming closer and closer. Even as the cache was placed in the tree the lizard approached the base of the tree to get a better view.
I think it must have been a cached in a previous life and was keen to be apart of the crew.

**FTF** Woohoo! When I saw this one come out on Saturday, I assumed that someone else would find it first. I was busy on the weekend, so couldn’t go for the hunt.

This morning, I got my urgent work done early, then off for some stress relieving, mental health increasing caching. Of course, if you’re not a monkey, this cache isn’t necessarily stress relieving, and when the wind started blowing and the branches were swaying, I did wonder about the mental health benefits of this one…maybe I’m just mental…yep .

Cache located, tree climbed, log signed and replaced, photos taken, and back to terra firma. All’s right with the world.

Thanks Dahumbug for the cache.
