#5602 - Doing the loop track today with the geohounds as we test our new hiking boots out that we just purchased in Albury. Mr BGF was sent up to do 'the climb' as the cache was a bit of reach, in fact at the limit of Mr BGF's reach. Just managed to grab and replace it, whilst maintaining balance. Phew! TFTC Thewins5.

It's such a great day to be out and about. Back in Wodonga - its been some time since the last visit and a few missions have lured me from home base to the flat country. This new trail is fabulous and the indigenous focus, history and sculptures work together so well. I finally spied the cache and wondered how this little duck would reach it but an 'au naturale' TOTT worked a treat. TFTC and the fun.

23-Jun-24
11 months ago we could see the cache but couldn't get to it due to flooding and today, we finally got it! TFTC!

23-Jun-24
Almost a Year in the making! Did most of these last year but couldnt reach this one due to flooding, super pleased to have come back to collect it! Thank you!

We had some very happy climbers. Good hide

A lovely day so we, BettyBoo3747 and I, loaded up the deadly treadlies and set off for Wodonga Gateway Island. Very nice bike tracks. My GPSr does not show the whole title, it would have been useful for this cache.Mind you I could have read the description too! (or the terrain!)Walked all around the base before BB looked up.Thanks, Robmc.

# 21665. Haven't been caching in quite a while. With a few new ones popping up on the Causeway area and a nice day forecast we loaded up the bikes and headed north. A not entirely successful day with 3 DNF's but we did get a few 2TFs etc along the way.Figured this one was high and dry and spied it fairly quickly. We used a makeshift TOTT to reach it and sign the log. Unfortunately the trackable that was dropped in on 5 November 2023 disappeared before March 2024. Needs to be marked as "Missing".Thanks Thewins5

10-May-24
Need to bring my TOTT but will come back one day

20-Apr-24
Today we walked round the Crossing Place trail with indigominers. The trail has now been revived and tidied up by the local council and a nice easy walk in the sunshine. Past a few walkers and riders along the way. TFTC

and_me and I had been to the GeoBash event at Canberra and were on our way home after an overnight stop at Albury. We decided that we should stretch our legs before the big drive so we decided to wander around this trail.I volunteered to do the climb and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.

TFTC.....Another stunning cache, found quickly, as frilk and I walked this wonderful trail! The sculptural artwork that was interspersed amongst the river gums was beautiful and further enhanced the experience that is "The Crossing Place" trail.

26-Mar-24
We got a little distracted with the Virtual and hadn't realised we had walked past a couple of caches. Nonetheless, it's a good excuse to return to this lovely trail.Steve spotted the cache and made the climb. I supplied the pen:)Thanks Thewins5.

25-Mar-24
This was fun and a little bit of a challenge. The younger (48), but shorter made the climb, while the older (71) but taller, was the lookout. Me being on the short side, had to ask for a tool to help me . Soon had the container in hand, signed log up there and used said tool to aid in the return of container. What a grand tree she wouldve been. Didnt see the TB (but couldve easily missed it, as was too busy keeping my balance).A fun cache, thanks.

10-Feb-24
What a brilliant cache to find SL All the family had a climb

16-Jan-24
The short guy found the cache and signed it... the tall guy replaced it! TFTC

Day 3 of our Albury trip. Decided to start with the walk along the river. Very pleasant and a lovely cool start.Apologising up front for the generic logs. Cannot complain about the quality and quantity here, it was a great mixture. Some are very challenging hides and some even defeated us and some of those puzzles, just glad it was more than me working on them. Looking forward to coming back. Its a perfect weekend to get out of town. Decided Albury was the place to go. Lots of lovely puzzles that we have spent time as a group working through now its time to venture down and pick up.Signing as CIA-Canberra Invasion of Albury. And apologies for generic logs. Thanks for getting me out and about Thewins5

Albury Invasion trip Day 3. After planning and months of puzzle solving it is finally time to head to Albury Wodonga for a long weekend visit. I was with Kitty Katch, FufacesLL and Joolay for this trip, but I also spent time with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n due to space in cars. Logs for the weekend were signed CIA23 to save space. We started the day with a walk around the Riverside trail for the virtual and thew caches along the way. The second port of call was the new rail trail caches where a large group wandered along the trail visiting the caches, it is great to see this trail re-populated with caches. The second part of the day was small group caching around the area, visiting a few DNFs and other caches we had missed the day before. As before the effort put into the puzzles and all the caches in the area is really appreciated, and with so much more to do, I am sure I will be back before too long. Thanks for the cache Thewins544933.8 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Regular Event A#220**Albida**

After a pleasant night in sheer luxury, fitzy_1965 and I were up early to take advantage of our free breakfast before joining the rest of the CIA crew for a day of caching before we all went our separate ways.We crossed the river into Victoria to meet at the start of The Crossing Place walk and did the loop before the sun got too hot. The walk itself was quite pleasant and was a good test for my hip which has not been the best of late. We targeted of the OZ trail and whatever else we came across. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated.

We joined in on the Canberra Albury Invasion or CAI fun this long weekend. After lots of puzzle solving and planning the time had come for a four day weekend of geocache hunting and hiking in and around the Albury/Wodonga area. We could not have picked a better weekend, we had great weather and avenged a couple of DNF's for us. Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches in this area, and for giving us a reason to come down the highway and visit this lovely area. Thanks for the hide Thewins5

33,860. Found with Team CIA23 - Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Our caching group has been eyeing off the Albury/Wodonga area for quite some time. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. This was now (my) Day 2 of the trip. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list. Thanks Thewins5 !!

Day 3 of our Canberra (+3) Invasion of Albury. Starting time and place had been discussed and agreed upon at Kittykatch's Event last night. There was to be a variety of cache types, D/T's and attributes covered to hopefully provide something of interest for everyone participating. All mystery caches had already been solved as a group effort on various zoom sessions before we left home. The day was sunny and hot, but everyone rose to the challenge, and all these caches were found and signed CIA. Thanks to all the COs who placed and maintained these caches. They certainly encourage me to get out and travel.

#18964; Day 3 of the Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023 weekend. Our merry band again comprised Sol de lune, albida33, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, Barb2e, isopeda, dty73, tankengine, aykayem, minniek and fitzy_65 for another day of action today. Started the day with a wander along a part of the Crossing Place Trail, where we managed to locate and log 12 caches, which were again signed CIA23. The long grass aside, it was a pleasant way to kick off the day. Thanks to all of the cache owners for helping make a great weekend for our Canberra caching fraternity. TFTC Thewins5 Smile

I was very much in need of an after work walk. This is one of my favourite walks in Albury, flat, great scenery, and plenty of history. My plan today wasn't to cache, but I ended up grabbing two.Nice to be out walking with someone who is a tad taller and can reach more easily. Log signed and returned as found. Thanks, Thewins5, for highlighting the area

This is about my limit as far as tree climbs go. Initially went up the wrong way and then had to backtrack and up a slightly easier path. A bit scary having to unscrew one handed but eventually managed it in the last light of the day. Thanks.

15-Oct-23
Finally back to place where it should be - if you get up there to sign it, please put it back in the same spot.Otherwise I will get it up even higher (just need a good day to climb a bit further)

09-Oct-23
Nice easy one. No real climbing needed

20-Sep-23
Out walking with little miss today, she loved the sculptures early on and has done really well to reach this point (only one little piggy back!) She kept watch while I climbed up to retrieve this one. All good here. TFTC!

This hide ticked a few boxes today... Day #7 of the find a cache on 20 different days challenge done ️. Pooches walked. Both teenagers out of their beds & off their screens. Fresh air for all, and it was FRESH ! A bit drizzly too. Plenty of people on the trail today... like a lot! Managed to retrieve the well camoed hide and sign the log without attracting any attention. Youngest happily made the climb. Thanks for providing just what we needed today before settling onto the couch for Big Freeze 9. Tftc Thewins5

While out riding around this new track I decided to collect a couple of caches this morning. I spotted this one as soon as I pulled up and retrieving and signing the log was ok but putting back was another thing. After a bit of inventiveness the cache was back in place

21-Apr-23
Had a few jobs to do across the border and then thought on my way home for some reason decided I needed a walk. This was the spot so after a quick park I headed out to check out this track since it had been updated. The signs and sculptures were amazing.

This was a fun cache and spotted the tree and the cache on the way up and loved the climb to this one. What a great cache in a great part of the world

Exploring around Rutherglen with Wicky. She's not great on road trips, so plenty of cache stops to break things up. Thanks for placing this cache!

Catching up with some very late logs. This was found while home for a few days and taking the bikes out for a ride.

This was a fun but easy enough find at GZ. Enjoyed the hide.

Thanks for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

A quick arvo boat up the river for a fish and took the opportunity to grab a couple of these caches close to the edge. No fish today, but a couple of caches.

We came here to complete the new virtual in the area so stopped by to find this one in the loop around. Cache was easily found and is all good

Day 4 of Courtneyrose_ and I’d trip from Adelaide to Sydney. Today we made our way from Corowa to Corryong, after spending the morning in Rutherglen we headed towards Albury/Wodonga to complete a new virtual then continued on for the rest of the afternoon. A lovely day out exploring some new country side.

Thanks for the cache

24-Feb-23
This is definitely one of those "hidden in plain site" caches!!
Admired the structure in front of me and wondered what it took to knock it down. Read the hint and started to do a bit of searching in a lot of places - nope. Reread the description and the hint then took it literally. Now thats definitely above flood height! TFTC

14-Feb-23
Haha! I ventured past this one the previous evening and thought about attempting in the faded light, but thought better of it in the end.
It was a good call and so I made the trek to GZ again today for a re-start.
Very fortunate to have no-one around here or even anywhere along the route, as I very steadily ascended towards the cache.
I was just speculating really, as I was looking in the natural hiding spots without much luck, before having a re-think at where it might be.
Pretty standard for me having eyes just for decoration, and I soon after spotted the hide.
SL at 1.45pm. Cache all ok.
Nice to get down here now the waters have receded. Loved this placement.
TFTC Thewins5.

*FTF* @ 6pm Saw these pop up earlier today and already had plans to head into town tonight. So when I finished work I packed the bike into the car and headed in. Beautiful spot here down by the river. Once I got to GZ I began climbing all over the place but the sneaky thing still took longer to locate than it should of. I was rewarded with a clean empty log book! Ya!! Tftc!! And awesome spot!! Enjoyed this one. And a fav for the climb!
