Found whilst I was travelling from Australia with GoodLook. For close to a month we drove more than 5500 miles in our rental car whilst caching around the USA and parts of Canada. Stand out moments have included a boat trip in Georgia on Lake Lanier; completely filling my Jasmer Grid (which is not possible to do in Australia); dropping into the ASPGB Mega in New York; socialising at various events; catching up with family friends; attending the GeoWoodstock 2018 Giga; caching in specific US States meaning that I have now cached in all 50 States plus D.C.; and of course the fun involved whilst caching with geo-buddies. What a wonderful adventure it has been!
Thanks so much for the virtual cache.

Interested story, the native american really does look doomed while Bienville looks imperial.
There were a couple of graffitis on the statue: "take em down"
Thanks for the history lesson and happy new year!

A very busy place with carts, cars and tourists walking around. Interesting to see where the founder originated from.
Found it!
We are on a road trip to the Florida Panhandle in search of Delorme pages and counties and any other interesting caches then we are heading to New Orleans and grabbing some more on the way. Enjoying the New Year walking around the French Quarter.

Great area. Grabbed this one while in town for the sugar bowl. Answers to follow.
After four days of driving, today was my first chance to explore NOLA on foot. When we drove into town from Chalmette, my car's GPSr directed us down Decatur Street, so we had already had a peek at many of the monuments along the way. Since I was walking, I was able to stroll a bit more, and wait out the passing muggles who were interested in their own pictures. The information was not difficult to gather and I took several pictures of this neat statue.

We found it! Thanks for the history lesson. When I was standing the elevation was -8 and - 11 when I placed our GPS on the ground. Thanks for creating this virtual cache at an important site of history. You have earned a favorite from us!
My wife and I love to visit New Orleans. We were down this year for a visit and grabbed some while in the area. Talk about some unseasonable weather this year.. We've been by this spot before, but haven't gathered the info we needed before. Thanks for placing this virtual and keeping it going so long.
8th of 9 finds tonight with RavRobin to begin our honeymoon. The area was a little slippery, but we managed to grab the answers without getting hurt in the dark. Our answers are in the mail. TFTC.
8th of 9 finds tonight with Foon on the first night of our honeymoon! What a beautiful statue! Thanks for bringing us here! Foon emailed our answers. TFTC!
Stopped by here on a whirlwind tour of the area. We'd come to see the aquarium but it was closed today so we walked around in the damp weather instead. Thanks for keeping this virtual going! Answers on the way.
We came downtown only to find most everything closed. We toured until the rain came down. Thanks for the virtual.
In town from Phoenix for a visit and to cache in our 50th state. When we're in a city that's new to us, we enjoy nothing more than doing a virtual cache tour. You can learn so much more than just sitting on a bus being lectured to. Today we are off from our nearby hotel for a walking virtual tour of the French Quarter. It was a lot of fun discovering this statue and obtaining the requested information, TFTV.
Stopped by The Founder and gathered the needed information as a parade passed by. Gee this is a fun city! TFTC
9922. Found this during our holiday around the USA.
Walking around New Orleans on my 50th Birthday grabbing a few Virtual Caches ! This was the sixth stop for the day. Info quickly gathered and has been sent to the CO. Wonderful area to look around for a while, including spotting someone who I thought might be another cacher gathering the info !! Then moved on to the next Virtual on my list.
Thanks again GeoVamp !! Fav Point !

The Supercomputing Conference was in New Orleans in 2010 and now it's back in 2014, so I'm visiting some old friends for some TB miles and grabbing some new smileys I missed last time, or which have been placed since...my cache log history says I was here on November 14 2010.
A nice sunny day for a walk through French Quarter, which was well and truly buzzing today.

Found by Mary & David, from Melbourne, Australia, at 0935. We were booked for the lunch cruise on the Steamboat Natchez, and wandered down to the dock slowly from our hotel on Canal St. This statue had been pointed out on our city tour yesterday, and it was the first stop on our walk today. Good to get a close-up look. A nice little park here too. Answers sent. Our thanks to GeoVamp.
Found on a short visit to New Orleans while in the USA for a conference. We very much enjoyed our time here.
Thanks GeoVamp - Impressive statue - I answered the easy questions and one of my colegues recognised the object (email sent) - Greeting from Australia.

#128 for us and the second New Orleans cache, while in town for SC10. Found and emailed 14/11, logged 23/11.
This was my second cache, found on an interesting afternoon of caching and sightseeing when jet-lag caused me to miss my tutorial at SC10. Thanks for the interesting history. Yet again caching takes you to places or teaches you things that you'd probably otherwise miss out on.
