After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. This was a quick, fun grab while walking along the water front. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA

Located with Ricardinho

A quick find before the event I've run past this location so many times!

A very cool cache container, we have found a few in this series

09-Sep-23
RG72 wanted to check out the booby trap cache not far from the event tonight, so we gave ourselves some time before the event to get that and this one. No issues here, and numbers duly recorded for the bonus. TFTC Sidewaze

Out for a nice cycle ride today along the coast.
Quick and easy find along the way, tftc!
We have now collected 2 animals and their numbers. Not sure how many animals there are and where the last one is located, but I'm sure we'll bump into it one day Smile

11-Aug-23
After being cooped up for the best part of 2 weeks and feeling sorry for myself dealing with some sort of a bug I felt well enough today to take advantage of a springlike day.
Familiarity with the area had us park the car such that a walk would be the preferred option. I recall standing at GZ and make observations for an earth cache. This time I was humming "I am the walrus, goo-goo g'joob" while looking for a log to sign. Very softly of course as I didn't want to show my age.... Loved the in theme cotainer. Thank you Sidewaze for the cache

11-Aug-23
We've had other priorities the last few weeks and today is the first day we've felt like getting out geocaching again. A nice crisp sunny day helps too.
It's a while since we walked out this way, usually having to dodge cyclists galore but today was a pleasant stroll. It makes a huge difference when everyone respects others right to be on the track.
it didn't take long to get the log signed here, love the themed container.
Thank you Sidewaze.

09-Aug-23
While out Richmond way doing some jobs I thought this cache would make a nice stroll before I headed home. All was quiet along the trail apart from one runner and one biker. An instant find, then it was back the car. TFTC Sidewaze

17-Jul-23
Found on the weekend after a short loop walk along the great taste trail, only around 3k but nice views.
Nice add-on to the container. Small detail to add but makes the find so much nicer.

Thanks for the cache. Hidden in a cool spot

I need a mystery today and the closest that I could get is the bonus for this set of aquatic creatures so it made sense to make this number 2 for this evening. It was in the first place I looked however I think I buried it more with my first look. Another nice container in this series. Off for a spot of dolphin watching now. Thanks Sidewaze

(# 7811) A caching trip to Nelson with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. Day 1 of a 4 day trip interspersed with exploring and humour. A quick find. The log was signed as NuMpTY (or NMTY) for NZ_B, Mr-mcgoo, TwigNZ, & YetiNZ. Thanks for bringing me here.

09-Jun-23
It was a lovely stroll to here, after finding the necessary information for the earthcache close by. The sun was out glinting in the sea and it was warm. So good after a cold start to the day.In Nelson with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo for a few days of caching and meeting up with other cachers from Nelson. All logs signed as NMTY.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Sidewaze.

Myself, along with NZ_B, YetiNZ and Mr-mcgoo are on a caching expedition to Nelson. This is something we planned a while back and have very much been looking forward to Smile
During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.

The 3 boys having now met up with NZ_B (who had made her own way over a couple of days earlier) then headed over to check out the venue for the event we were attending this evening. Yup, this would be a great place to grab some lunch, but it was just a little early so we decided to grab some nearby caches first, like this one.

A pleasant stroll along the shoreline brought us to this one. A quick find, and with no issues to report here, the cache was soon replaced exactly as found.

Thank you for setting this one up.

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. With minimal specific agendas, and lots of unfound caches in the area, the goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding geocaches. Here is one we found.

The log was signed as NuMpTY (or NMTY) for NZ_B, Mr-mcgoo, TwigNZ, & YetiNZ

Thanks to Sidewaze for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

An extended long weekend with lots of caching yay! The weather ended up being better than predicted and I had a ball thanks to all CO's!

Nice walk along the path hoping the rain would hold off. The creature seems to be enjoying the location. TFTC!!

South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!

27-May-23
Found with no.13 on a sunny morning. Hardly ever come here so got a little confused of after parking up of path here. And avoiding being mowed down by cyclists. The AQ Was partially exposed so hopefully a little better covered now. Tftc and series

I usually try to give sea lions a wide berth but this one needed approaching and getting up close and personal with. It didn't seem to mind. Lovely afternoon for the short walk. TFTC

22-Apr-23
I'm back in Nelson for the weekend tying up some loose ends after our move to Canterbury. I managed to find a few caches along the way. A nice short walk brought me to the cache. Found it after a short search. Very cute indeed. TFTC, Biggles.

Headed away from all the traffic and people at Mapua today and spent some time in Richmond. Wanted to get this cache and some others but with one thing and another only managed this one. A nice easy find here. tftc

While we were walking not biking, previous experience with biking told us a good, safe place to park. 4 out of 4 for the traditionals and for once we also left here with all the numbers recorded with no need for any return visits. We now have the mystery cache coordinates locked read for a later trip to a familiar area.
Thanks.

15-Mar-23
Whoops, almost forgot to log this one. Nicely themed cache but had to make a second visit to record the information for the final. TFTC Sidewaze.

15-Mar-23
Found with TARV2014 to complete the set of traditional caches and get the last two unknowns for the mystery / bonus cache. Some team challenges with technology, but a bit of common sense and experience soon had us with cache in hand. Thanks Sidewaze - now just the mystery / bonus to complete the series.

15-Mar-23
Found with SJT_NZ on a after work wander, phone was playing up and didn't have a gps with us so a lucky break when map to ground got us in the general vicinity and cache nouse got us to the Sean Lion. Thanks Sidewaze, a lovely set of caches.

14-Mar-23
I suppose that since I found the bonus cache, I should also find this one which has an essential piece of information needed to find the bonus. Sounds like a chicken and the catch-22.

Anyways, I liked the little animal who seemed to be hugging the cache. TFTC.

10-Mar-23
Took the dog on a slightly different walk today and rewarded with a 2TF. Thanks or the cache.

I just got home and looked my emails.
Ooh Sidewaze has put out a new series.
Hmmm. I can see four of them on the map, where’s the fifth. Ooh, that’s close. On the bike and off I raced.
With 60m to go my tyre decided to go flat. Ugh. I walked off track. Made a quick find of the cute wee seal and found a blank log. Yahoo.
Now to walk home pushing my bike. ️
