On my way to the blue mountains for a midweek caching trip. Only a few caches on the way. Then in the Mountains was all over the place between Lawson and Lithgow. Well last minute change after all those puzzles solved last night, I also had to detour via Portland.TFTC Wilbert67
Fun to ride around the common today on the horse searching for the answers to the puzzles. Cache totally uncovered so signed and covered up. TFTC
Reperio 14:45I was headed to Katoomba today for the upcoming Ultra Trail Australia event, and with a little time bit of time in the day to find some caches, thats exactly what I did. I took in the little detour to Portland along the way, and headed off into the bush to visit this series of caches. Each and every cache was found in good condition.Gratias Joshwa27As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Walked in a circuit to find #1 to #6 taking us seniors about 40 minutes. A pleasant walk. Thanks Joshwa27
Publication of a new AL in Portland prompted me to make a day trip to the town where I spent my early childhood years, a long long time ago. I've been back many times over the years to see relos who lived there, but not in the last five years since the last of them passed away. Not much has really changed since I was last here, except for a lot more caches being placed ... yay!Time (and I'll admit it, a lack of energy) didn't allow me to tackle all of this series today, so I settled for just doing the two closest to the road, both of which were straightforward finds. Having gone to the effort of doing a heap of jigsaws, maybe I'll have to come back another time for the rest! Thanks for the hide Joshwa27.
#13188 14:35Day 4 of our camping trip at Capertee Valley. Today was a cloudy, cold day and rather than floating on a lilo on the Capertee river, we decided to head over to nearby Portland for some sightseeing and geocaching. The Portland Portraits was a nice puzzle series and the walk around Portland was very enjoyable with all 12 caches found.Afterwards we settled down in the Coronation Hotel for a nice lunch and good company as the bar staff and regulars were preparing for their NYE party.TFTC Joshwa27
Oldmorty has had this series of caches on a list for a while. We added a few more to the list and ended up with a total of 24 to find for the day.Not knowing what the terrain would be like or how to approach finding the caches, we started with the first 4 as they seemed pretty straight forward.A nice walk along the fence line with easy to find caches. Thanks to Joshwa27 for the puzzles and the caches.
A nice walk in the bush with frazeydaze finding the caches in the Portland Portraits series. We walked a circuit finding Nos 1 to No 6 before relocating the car on Williwa Creek Road and walking to Nos 7 to 12. All caches were found quickly and in good condition. TFTC
Got this one.I solved all these puzzles way back in July when the days were short in anticipation of an eventual trip to Portland. Spending a few days at Lake Wallace with good friends breaking in our new van.Lots of laughs turning Portland into smilies. Considering that we just moved back from Portland Oregon!Tftc
I found this cache as I headed home to Adelaide after the QOGM events around Longreach. The plan was to be away for about a month. I travelled up to Longreach via Broken Hill, Cunnamulla, Charleville and Barcaldine, camping and finding caches of interest along the way. I am heading back home via Brisbane and the NSW coast to Sydney, then across to Adelaide. However my plans are pretty loose and subject to change, often on a whim! The weather so far has been good, albeit a little warm at times. I am hoping it stays good for the rest of the trip.I have had to be quite selective with the caches I have found as there are so many that I am passing. As a result I have mostly targeted non-traditional cache types, although I have also grabbed a few Trads opportunistically here and there. This morning I thought Id do some of the caches around Portland, including this series. I made a circuit of it and it was a very pleasant walk, particularly along the ridge line. The black cockatoos were impressive. Thanks Joshwa27 for the puzzle and the cache, which has contributed to an interesting and enjoyable trip.
Nice easy puzzle to solve. I thoroughly enjoyed this walk around Portland Common. Thanks.
A quick find which was fortunate as our presence in the area set the nearby dogs off. TFTC.
I thoroughly enjoyed this walk around Portland Common, and it was a beautiful day. Did this in reverse order. Awesome to see all the gum trees around. Thanks again for your absolutely amazing contribution to geocaching in the area. TFTC
Irondale was keen to get out and grab these as she had just started solving jigsaws. I had solved them all during the evenings at Rutherglen mega event. These were all in logical spots. Nice new systema containers. We did a combo of walk/drive between them all and it didn’t take too long TFTC
#6863-A quick find with thomo31 once the 9 dogs in the property next door quitened down. Thanks
Found with WaywardWoman while caching in the area. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
We saw that this series of caches had been recently published, so we changed the direction we had expected to travel today with ilook4geo and headed to Portland instead. However, we did some homework first, then checked out the area and decided to do a circuit walk and hopefully pick up the (FTF) for each one. Yay! It was a joint (FTF) with ilook4geo of course and each log sheet now has two names stamped on it. Thanks for this opportunity, for a walk in this area and we enjoyed the lovely blackberries as well. Thanks also for each cache placement go to Joshwa27.
Headed out on a joint (FTF) hunt around Portland with goingplaces2. The morning was cooler with a nice breeze, so we enjoyed the walk. Each (FTF) cache was an easy find, every log was signed and all containers were then put back as found. It was a fun morning. TFTC.
