Logs
1st cache of the day. Found 6 caches of the 9 Wattledale series of caches. That warrant 1 favourite, and that favourite goes to this well designed geocache! SL, TFTC GandJWA.
Spent about 5 minutes looking about the place and started the get a rising sense of dread that another DNF might be heading our way when we decided to check some previous logs and adjusted what we were looking for with the cache being located a short time later. After getting washed out last week, I C Nothing, monkeywand, and I geared up for another caching adventure on a brisk Tuesday night. We began our quest close to home, heading to grab the finals after solving a few intricate puzzles in Banjup before winding our way eastward towards Forrestdale and Haynes. Each new location was ripe with hidden treasures, and the thrill of the hunt fueled our determination. With a mix of stealth and skill, we managed to uncover many elusive caches, though one slipped through our fingers, and by the end of the night I headed home with 15 finds and 1 DNF. Thanks go to GandJWA for placing and maintaining the Traditional cache Wattledale - White Faced Heron for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 21:40 on 16/7/2024.This is find number 9094 for me.
Out and about with Cirrus_WA and I C Nothing for another night for caching fun. Reading past logs helped here as we were way off initially.
Another Tuesday caching for the MiC team.Tonight we starting in the local area cleaning up a few newer caches before seeing where the night takes us. A great night caching with Monekywand and Cirrus_wa.
This one was a very quick find, which I'm happy for after the frustrations of the previous one
After the frustration at Wagtail we geades to White Heron with some trepidation. Not to worry; Patch quickly made the discovery and another FP goes your way. All perfect here thanks
This was my second longest search of the day. I searched undercover what I assumed was the obvious. Then I read logs and headed towards the stump. Took some further searching before uncovering the hide. Thanks.
We had a bit of time to kill so headed out to grab a few caches. This one was on the list for today. Cheers and TFTC.Gday there GandJWA, we were in this area today and found your cache Wattledale - White Faced Heron GCA5VY6. Our name was added to the log book at 11:20AM on 23 June 2024. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!We took up Geocaching on 3 March 2013 and this cache brings our total find count to - 14847.
Tftc, the last log definitely tipped how to find it as this was the second find from 3 so far of finds of the series so far.
Starting to get a feel for the style of cache within this series. The coordinates took us to a cut off tree stump so we expanded our search from there- found after quite a while as the camo is doing its job. Thanks for the cache GandJWA.
A search on the obvious objects revealed nothing so I looked a bit closer to where the GPS had GZ. I thought ahh the tree stump. Maybe they had cut the tree down and the cache was taken with the debris. I also gave in but one more search after a rethink for a Style of cache that I like and I found it. It was still very tricky to see as the dirt was covering the cache inside the host. All good and all ok to be found. I was surprised I found this one after reading the DNFs.
Coordinates changed from:S 32 8.934 E 115 58.694Coordinates changed to:S 32 8.931 E 115 58.696Distance from original: 21.0 feet or 6.4 meters.Moved slightly hopefully to prevent muggling.
Unfortunately, no luck for me today. Will be back to finish the rest of this series
Hi there GandJWA - after a recent trip to Kalgoorlie then a rest period after, it was time to head out again - but this time to hunt for local caches. We decided to head first to Jarrahdale and then back towards Armadale via Albany Highway. We found this cache at 1225pm after a short search - and the container and log are as noted in the Fieldnotes below. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to GandJWA for this cache - the 1st of 7 finds for the day.
FieldNotes: The cache and log were both found in good condition. The owner of this cache deserves a FavPt for the work put into it, but I can't give him/her one, so I'll give it to the cache instead.

Knocked off the Wattledale series this afternoon mostly on foot, the last one by car.
I’m impressed by the thought, effort and variety of cache produced by GandJWA
Took note of the description for this one, it told the story of where to look.
Very nicely hidden for sure.

I was hoping for a sleep-in but the phone kept pinging messages about new hides not far away. Tried 4 caches and managed to find 3 and the remnants of the possible 4th one.

Thanks for the hide
