After attending a family gathering, we figured we should grab a cache before heading back to the campervan. It should have been relatively close but the navigation system took it upon itself to send us the long way around, so we changed to 'plan B' and picked this one up instead. The hiding spot was quickly identified, and after a slight pause to let the occupants vacate the area, we nabbed the cache. Thanks for putting this here

Today's chosen cache was actually at Ruakura (or thereabouts), but the driving directions, for some weird reason, started taking us out to the airport. At that point, rattll and I gave up on the chosen cache and focused on this one instead. At GZ, it didn't take us long to find the container, but exposing it initiated a flurry of insectoid activity, which made us step back gingerly. When all was still again, I picked up the cache, removing a particularly stubborn slug. The log inside was nice and dry. Signed, and returned as found, leaving the denizens in peace once more. Tftc!

Our second of the trail. A quick find once we got to the correct level. We had to then go under the underpass and then off to the nearby playground for the geo-kids.

#13,885. After spending the morning geocaching around Cambridge it was time to head towards Hamilton and rather than get there at 110 km/hr I decided to drive the slower path picking up the Te Awa trail caches. Getting through them now. Good powertrail to boost the numbers. Managed to find a park close by. Advantage of a public holiday and businesses being closed. Cache sneakily hidden here. Signed the logsheet and replaced the cache as found. Thanks elwyn1948 for hiding it here. Will drop a favourite for this powertrail series as this is one I can still remember finding!

School holidays so time for a road trip and some caching. Stayed the night on Duncan road near the end of the trail. Woke ridiculously early and walked the whole trail collecting all 14 caches. Was very grateful that the finds were straight forward and a phone torch sufficed. Did have a full moon show itself intermittently which helped. Cache and log all fine. Thanks for a fun time.

It was good to get out of Rotorua today and over the hill into the Waikato area for a bit of geocaching. The weather was a lot nicer than in Rotorua. We went via Matamata, Morrinsville and on to Hamilton then home through Cambridge. Thanks to the CO for hiding.

06-May-23
With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… The continuing bad weather and the Rotorua Marathon weren’t enough of a deterrent from caching. Another mini road trip across the Waikato.

The nearby facility was in use and it was interesting to see players with lacrosse sticks… We walked over to ground zone and it was rather quiet - An immediate find in the first place we looked. Thanks elwyn1948. TFTC.

A nice quick find. A brilliant underpass. Thanks for placing your cache.

I went for a wee bike ride this afternoon and collected a few caches. Lovely weather for a bike ride and the trails (when I was on them) were great.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Back on the trail, easy find, on to the next one

15-Apr-23
Our quickest find of the series on our walk here this afternoon, but we can't say it was thanks to our perfect geosenses, it was just that the cache was completely exposed.
We used the worm to make sure it was more concealed when we returned it to its hiding spot.
This walkway is so interesting with all of its features and all of the new developments around it.
Now its off through the tunnel and on to the next cache.

08-Apr-23
Cowley and Karol got it .....good hiding spot!

Was at home celebrating Friday by baking a carrot cake when I realised that I didn’t have cream cheese for my frosting. Picked up my dog and off we went into the car to drive to the supermarket. Got back to the house and just entered the front door when FMZ alerted me about these two new caches that have just been published. Picked up the dog again and back into the car we went, poor Jäger must have been so confused. It was already dark when I got to gz. Armed with my phone flashlight, the 5th instalment of this series was quickly found and signed. Hurried to the location of this one and looked for a while as coords was a little off. Checked the possible places as per hint and lo and behold, cache was there. Thanks for the [FTF] . Happy Friday!
